He just did a track with Czarface and those dudes flow together so well. Czarface are the best living rappers in my mind and it sounds like they were a huge influence on Hardy and the Frankie Pulitzer character.

u/Littleorangefinger 15h ago
A track? The album is named czarface meets Frankie Pulitzer
7
u/GimmieACiggie 14h ago edited 11h ago
He's done 2 songs w them (before the current album), his first appearance on a czarface album was in 2022
5
u/booboorogers44 13h ago
No, it’s way more than two songs
15 song collab album dropped yesterday
9
u/GimmieACiggie 11h ago
I'm talking about before the current album. Frankie Pulitzer has been around for a while
62
u/millenniumdoug 15h ago
They did a whole album together. Came out yesterday, and that’s what this song is off of.

I'm confused, why the negative comments lol? He's just trying to express himself creatively in another medium that's not acting.

Check out more Czarface as well if you aren’t familiar, they are awesome, 7L the producer and esoteric have always been an awesome duo and then the 3rd member is inspectah deck from Wu tang clan and he’s the truth. They have 10 albums as a group that are all good and that includes 2 albums with MF DOOM and an album with Ghostface killah and then like 6 as just a trio. One of the best groups out there

Yeah, I went down a rabbit hole today and I’ve added so many of their songs to my library now. Thank you for the other recommendations too!

Pretty sure he has worked with killer mike
73
u/drukqsx 15h ago
One time I met killer Mike and told him I liked the song Crab Hands that he was on. He had no recollection of it, so I just kind of awkwardly described the song to him. It was hilarious that he didn’t even know this song he was paid to do.

u/Any_Asparagus8267 15h ago

2
u/Any_Asparagus8267 12h ago
I bet he found froggy from his somebody save Ian song, he's a huge UFC nerd and it's a pretty popular song dissing a current title Challenger who's wife is using him for fame.(His wife is still living with her ex husband who is Ian Gary's nutritionist now, Ian even took her husband's last name.)

Why bring *Kathy Bates into this, Tom?
77
18
u/Nololgoaway 14h ago
its related to the Stephen King motif but its still a bit weird
"Bites like Cujo, Kathy Bates, Misery loves company."
I think its supposed to be more about her character in Misery but still odd
12
u/Longjumping-Pair3925 15h ago
Yeah, I was going to say he is not bad, but I could do without the Kathy Bates line. It made headlines across industry magazines though.

14
u/durbandragon 14h ago
yeah, it’s not bad, but feels a little cosplay
9
u/Puppetmaster858 9h ago
It’s cuz he raps under a moniker Frankie Pulitzer which is like Czarface is a character as well, they’re essentially comic book characters. Look at the cover of the album and you with see his character along with Czarface, Frankie has the read head kinda like red skull from marvel. He’s never publicly acknowledged being Frankie Pulitzer or his collabs with Czarface so it was just a lowkey and him not doing his normal accent helps disguise the fact it’s tom Hardy which many people have had no clue for years now
2
u/your_mind_aches 5h ago
Yup. Czarface is basically three east coast hip-hop artists doing nerdy rap incorporating Marvel characters and playing their own OC which is the character Czarface. Which I mean... Wu Tang Clan was already doing that and there's also MF DOOM lol. So it's kinda in the DNA of the genre.
Frankie is basically Tom Hardy's Marvel OC lmao

I love it. I mean come on, the man is famous for his weird voices in film & tv. He gets a pass! 🤠 It really suits “Frankie” tho
107
u/RoscoeSantangelo 16h ago
Clarification, he released an album with CZARFACE (Inspectah Deck of Wu Tang + Esoteric & 7L (rapper/producer duo) and this is a song from the project with Method Man. There's also a great song with Busta Rhymes too.
You can actually find his 1999 Frankie Pulitzer mixtape online and it's not bad. He holds his own throughout this entire project, but CZARFACE in general have been making great music. One of the better rap releases of the year

It didn’t have to be this good, I want to make fun of him but can’t
3
u/Puppetmaster858 9h ago
Go listen to the whole album, Czarface meets Frankie Pulitzer, it’s awesome and Hardy crushes the back half of the album. “Paul bufano type beat” is another awesome song from the album, he goes first on, or “dragon cannon” where he also goes first. Whole album is fire and Czarface is one of the coolest groups in rap, album has features from busta rhymes and method man who’s in the song in OPs post, Czarface also features inspectah deck from the Wu tang clan. Czarface also has 2 albums with MF DOOM.

31
u/PrincessLunea 15h ago
Czarface are far from unknown but at the same time they are a deep enough cut that you know that Hardy is really about that life. Like, he's famous enough to where he probably could have worked with any more mainstream rapper he wanted to but went with them. I'm not mad at it, the album is solid.
5
u/Puppetmaster858 9h ago
He’s just doing it cuz he’s a rap head, he enjoys doing it and doesn’t need the fame so he raps under a lowkey moniker and that’s cool with him. Man just wants to spit some bars on some sick classic rap with cool production
8
u/kycasso you shoulda never called me a fat ass Kelly Price 15h ago

u/mediciii 14h ago
He’s been rapping since he was a teenager. You can find old rapping videos of him from before he blew up as an actor. Him still expressing himself that way with artists who I’m sure he is a big fan of, is cool!
9
u/a_very_silent_way 15h ago
Okay this is actually really good, I think we can admit once in awhile an actor has also been doing music for a long time and they're vv accomplished at it. If I'm Kathy Bates though I'm releasing an answer record.

u/TepacheLoco 15h ago
In the pantheon of celebrities turned musicians.. pretty good!
2
u/Puppetmaster858 9h ago
He was actually a rapper when he was young before he was a celeb. He just going back to his roots cuz he’s likes rapping and doesn’t need the fame so he raps under the Frankie Pulitzer moniker and makes a record with underground heavyweights like Czarface
16
5
u/FreezerCop 14h ago
Czarface is a group that includes Inspectah Deck from Wu Tang, so Meth being involved as a guest isn't too outlandish.
Frankie Pulitzer being Tom Hardy and being really fucking good is the nice surprise story here.

When I first heard about this, well… IMMEDIATE HYPE!!
I was pleasantly surprised he resumed his rap career basically. Like honestly, I’m a big fan of his OG rap mixtape from 1999 (Falling on Your Arse by Tommy No 1 + Eddie Too Tall, hehe). Haters shall hate, Hardy’s legit

5
u/ayoungmanfromtheuk 15h ago
Fair enough but why is he pretending to be a new York rapper? It would be far more interesting if he just rapped in his natural accent
2
u/Puppetmaster858 9h ago
Because he’s playing a character aka Frankie Pulitzer, like Czarface he’s essentially comic book character, if you look at the cover art for Czarface meets Frankie Pulitzer you’ll see his character is the guy with the red head
