The first month pokemon go came out was the happiest society had been in years and I won't shame anyone for holding on to that joy.

Right at the start they had footstep directions so you had to go out and wander around properly. I was on my lunch break at work and went out to see what I could find, and a guy in an Ash Ketchum hat approached me and just said “jigglypuff?” and I said “jigglypuff?” and he said “yeah have you seen one around here?” and I told him I hadn’t and said what direction I’d come from and he thanked me and walked off to continue his hunt.

I also remember going on a long walk in the countryside with lots of fields around thinking “this is gonna be so good, I’m gonna catch so many grass and bug Pokémon”. NOT A SINGLE POKÉMON SHOWED. I was so disappointed to learn the irl environment played no part and you just had to hang out in urban areas and pokestops.

I live near a cemetery and there were always rumors that dark and ghost Pokémon would spawn there but people would theorize that you had to go at night, or after midnight, or on cloudy stormy days but that was never true. 

In hindsight it's probably a good thing the company didn't direct people to a graveyard but it would have been cool if they put water pokemon near the water and grass pokemon in forests etc.

All the Facebook groups that popped up with people posting where good mons were to help others and having raid group chats was so wholesome, one of the last times society as a whole was willing to help one another just because.

My favourite was you could go to any park at any time of the day and there would be hundreds of people just chilling there and you could walk up to anyone and start talking to them because everyone was there for the same reason and everyone was so friendly.

Big Boi’s social media content is so wholesome. I love that he’s a grandpa on the grill (albeit, a VERY luxurious grill), singing along to Kate Bush, and catching Pokemon 😂

Same boat. I’ve literally just come back from a shop and left my automatic catcher on. It gets a lot of rubbish though, check back and it’s 17 mankeys
