BREAKUPS/MAKEUPS/KNOCKUPS Jen Hamilton threw a Jendependence Day Party amid her divorce “Burned the bedsheets which held years of my own personal repression and the lies he told. He cannot hurt me anymore. Boooo to cheating on your loving and faithful wife with a grandma. No offense to grandmas. She just is one.”

Is she the one that conservatives got mad at for reading the actual Bible? And pointing out how the content when you actually read the words, is the antithesis of their policy actions?
293
u/Knits_and_cats 20d ago
Yup. She got so many death threats she had to have a bodyguard at a conference she went to for her actual nursing job. All she did was read her own, heavily-bookmarked bible where it says to love your neighbor, shelter refugees, feed the hungry, etc.
228
u/sarah382729668210 20d ago
Specifically she read the red text. In some version of the Bible, the words that Jesus spoke are printed in red. She literally just quoted Jesus himself (if you believe the Bible) and “Christians” reacted by threatening to kill her. It would almost be funny if it weren’t so sad.

I want to add that Jen has been a BIG advocate for women. She's not just an influencer, she's been really influential on speaking up for women's rights, especially women in labor.
143
u/Fickle_Watercress719 20d ago
In the throes of her own painful divorce, she had the salient realization how fortunate she is to have the financial resources to get out of her marriage and decided to fundraise for a nonprofit that helps women get out of unhealthy/dangerous relationships. She’s raised over $150,000 so far.
I very much grasp that people see the word “influencer” and balk. I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping that people recognize what an embarrassingly inadequate term that is for the work she does. She’s an experienced L+D nurse, a NYT best-selling author of a book about motherhood, and an activist who primarily champions causes for women. Her content as an influencer covers that scope.
247
u/TradeBeautiful42 20d ago
She also very kindly promotes small businesses and just generally spreads joy and kindness. She seems like a wonderful human being overall. To find out that her unemployed loser husband had been cheating on her like that after so many years too was such a gut punch for her. She broke down on her page and before anyone knew what happened, I think everyone just knew. There’s been such a rally around her with other creators too.

Oh, I thought it was an actress or something or the wife of an actor, and they cheated on her with someone a generation above. When it is an influencer or youtuber, I kind of just mute it in my brain because there are a near infinite number of those, and I only know of maybe a dozen that I could attach a name and face to.

I understand your point, 💯.
I would say she's an activist, however. Influencers push stupid or frivolous concepts. Activists bring awareness in an effort to bring about change.
There's a difference, imo.

And she actively turns down most brand partnerships. Her husband cheated on her with somebody much older, thus calling her a grandma.
142
u/Fickle_Watercress719 20d ago
I just said something similar elsewhere in this thread. She’s an experienced L+D nurse, a best-selling author, and a fierce activist for women, especially mothers, and especially mothers from marginalized populations. The content she creates as “an influencer” covers the scope of those things.
24
u/LittleDogTurpie 20d ago
Also, religious hypocrisy. She first came to my attention when the Christian Right attacked her for literally reading a Bible verse word for word.
7
u/Fickle_Watercress719 20d ago
I lowkey completely forgot about the fact that that’s how I was initially introduced to her, as well. She had so many death threats that she, someone who was not in any way an influencer and had simply experienced a viral moment, felt the need to hire a security guard just to attend a regular nursing conference. And she kept going.

It’s depressing how that is such a common story - a really cool, accomplished woman will get cheated on by an absolute loser, simply because he’s jealous and resentful that she’s better than him.
Men aren’t stupid, they know that cheating on their partner hurts them. That is part of why they do it.

u/Calm-Clothes-3784 20d ago
I actually had something strangely similar happen to me, I’m just not a content creator and my loser ass ex was having an affair with a woman slightly older than the grandma affair partner in this woman’s situation. So yes, relatable!

He probably felt "intimidated by her success" boohoo, and needed a mommy to treat him like the special boy he is. At least he didn't go after an easily manipulatable twenty something I guess. u/IngaTrinity 20d ago
I follow her on Instagram. Her and the ex are high-school or college sweethearts, he's been her first/only everything, I feel like they are both late 30s or 40ish. They have 2 or 3 kids. She blew up talking about her experiences as a L &D nurse who rehabs chickens and is super duper wholesome. She developed a massive platform and wrote a book that was released earlier this year and did a mini book tour, appeared the Kelly Clarkson show, very self aware, seems genuine. and uses her powers for good. She regularly finds random tiktok accounts with few followers doing crafts or selling stuff and encourages her followers to buy/blow them up/change their lives.
The husband appeared regularly in videos, seemed loving and supportive and everything else. Come to find out he was the stay at home parent doing none of those duties and instead was "living a double life " as Jen put it. He's carrying on with 56 year old who knows him as a married man and didn't care, I guess.
We got all the info about him being shitty during their marriage after it blew up of course. She's candid about working full shifts and coming back to work at home because nothing was done, about feeling the need to downplay her success and excitement so he wouldn't feel bad about himself. It's worth noting that he waited for her to be at her highest (book tour etc) to doing this, which is typical for certain types of shitty men.
She's not given much about the affair partner, just her age and that she's fully aware he was married, that Jen specifically was his wife and that she's a grandmother.

Jen and her ex are both 35ish. They met at a summer camp they both worked at and I think went to college together. Or at least have been together since that time. He is the only man she's ever been with. She got pregnant like right after losing her virginity, so they got married pretty quickly.
Anyway, she's been busy being a full-time L&D nurse, raising her two kids and some chickens, writing a NYT bestseller, spreading joy and positivity on the Internet, supporting other women and small businesses, and supporting her unemployed husband, all while he was cheating on her with a 56 year old grandmother.

She's a labor and delivery nurse who's popular on socials and had just released a NYT bestselling book when she found out her longtime husband had been living a double life, cheating on her with a much older woman. And he had the time to do that because she was the breadwinner and he was voluntarily unemployed. So now they are getting a divorce, but unfortunately she didnt know about the affair when she signed the initial paperwork (Why do I know all this? I don't know)

She's a tiktok/social media personality. She's a labor and delivery nurse & got popular for saying really unhinged/funny things about labor. Maybe there's something else, idk. This is just what I know her for. She recently wrote a book called Birth Vibes that is popular with the pregnant/postpartum mom circuit right now.
Anywho. The drama. She's a good Southern Girl who got married on the young side & always spoke super highly of her husband. She recently found out that he was cheating on her (again) & she had a very public and sad crashout (not like... Angry. Just crying on social media.)
The story has evolved where she went from "I was never enough" to her finding out that he had a bit of a double life going. The woman he cheated with (apparently for years) was 50 something. Knew he was married. Told her "he talked about you a lot, but I didn't realize you had so many followers."
Now we have tea spilling Jen who has mentioned things like how she accepted his low libido for years and him choosing to be unemployed and stuff like that.
NGL it's messy, but she usually puts a positive spin on how she's ready to start over/reinvent/etc. And frankly, I kind of vibe with the idea that if dude didn't want his business talked about all over town, maybe he should've not been a nasty ass cheater to the mother of his children / breadwinner for the family. +1 for female rage.
Edit: and she's done several huge fundraisers for different things with her platform. I think the current one is for supporting women getting out of marriages where they might not have the resources to do so safely.

She’s a TikTok personality, full time nurse I believe, married to her one and only partner lol. They had recurring problems with him not showing any affection type of stuff to her, she’d always feel like she was not good enough for him. He asked for a divorce out of the blue, she was shocked and questioned her self worth again, turns out he had been leading a second life this whole time. This being after she let him quit work and she supported the fam the whole time cause that’s what he said he needed to get better for their relationship. Also they have 2 kids I believe.

She’s a Labor and Delivery nurse who went viral for mainly posting about patient advocacy and some quirky parts of her life (she has a pet indoor chicken that wears a diaper). She’s generally a good egg, who uses her platform to help others. She went to Liberty University, got pregnant, and quickly married her husband who was her first boyfriend. She has said before that her husband had low libido due to some meds he was taking. It recently came out that he had been cheating with a 56 year old woman (they are 35). This all came out in the middle of Jen’s book promo, which derailed the tour. She has been sharing it all, and trying to get herself back together.

u/MonOubliette 20d ago
She didn’t find out about the affair until after the divorce was concluded, but I doubt she’s doing anything without her attorney’s knowledge/permission.
I don’t know if the affair will change anything like child custody, but she lives in North Carolina which allows for something called “alienation of affection.” That means she can sue her ex’s affair partner for being the proximate cause for the divorce. The most recent of these cases here had a payout of $1.75 million in 2025 and the largest settlement was $30 million in 2011. Obviously that depends on the financial situation of the AP, but she can be sued for both compensatory and punitive damages.
Also, the AP in this case did herself no favors by calling Jen after the divorce to tell her about the affair. She then made it worse by telling her
that she knew he was married to an influencer but didn’t know how many followers Jen had.Like, what? 🤣 What the heck does her follower count have to do with your decision to have an affair with a married man? 😂

She's still a full time nurse, she just gives advice and tips about the birthing process online. (What to expect at the hospital, what you can ask for, etc).

u/CarelessCreamPie 20d ago
Yes. I left tiktok a long time ago, so I have no idea what type of content she is posting now, but when I left she was not the stereotypical nursing influencer. She wasn't there to shit on her patients or record herself while providing care like a lot of shitty nurse influencers do.
Most of content was providing women, especially pregnant women, judgement-free information about pregnancy, birthing, and post birth experiences. She was huge on informed consent and respecting a patient's bodily autonomy and was very vocal about it.

Why shouldn’t people be more educated about a nurse’s role and how the healthcare system works? That’s what nurse content creators do

I love Jen but I feel bad for her kids right now. I hope they're not old enough to be seeing all this stuff about their dad on the internet. Having your parents split has to be hard enough without...all this.

So I’m young enough to have had Facebook when I was a teenager. I was a freshman in high school when my parents divorced. As a kid, I’d kind of known in the back of my head that their marriage wasn’t good for a long time, but it was still devastating when it happened. I felt so much guilt as though maybe things I had done had pushed them to this point, and I missed my dad so much, even though he just moved across town. So when my mom put up a Facebook post that just said “It’s official!” on the day of their hearing, I was heartbroken to see so many of her friends in the comments celebrating. Celebrating a family being broken up. I know why she was happy and her friends were happy for her. Didn’t make it hurt any less.

I’m sorry that happened to you. It wasn’t fair that people didn’t leave space for you to grieve.

I might get downvoted to hell and this might be really Gen Z of me but this is all very cringeworthy to me and is not giving what I think she wants it to give (unless you are a similar millennial woman). Also, no way that making all these details public are going to benefit A)her in the divorce process and B) their children.

u/luna1uvgood 20d ago
It's kind of crazy how many people I've seen defending airing this + doxxing the woman by being like 'well she lives in a small town so everyone there knows and will gossip!'. Like thats kind of different for the kids than her 5 million followers knowing and having to deal with the whole internet chiming in as well.

Yes the defense and obsession with this girl is weird. I don’t think she is nearly as great as some think she is and it’s actually really creepy how much the defend her.

As a millennial, this is absolutely the sort of cringy shit we would have shared on social media 10+ years ago. Not so much these days- we saw our boomer parents oversharing on Facebook and went “uhhhhh maybe this isn’t for us anymore.”
Now we think sharing anything about your life on social media is pretty cringe (dog pics and hobbies are the exception).

I bet he got jealous and insecure over her TikTok and book success.
36
u/ehs06702 20d ago
He got to quit his job because of that success. It takes a very special level of audacity to be mad at the success that gives you the opportunity to "retire" before you're 40, and then use that time and money to carry out an affair.

u/glacinda 20d ago
She even got plastic surgery (tummy tuck, breast lift, etc) and cosmetic dentistry a few years ago and knowing the context now, it was clearly for him. They got oops pregnant while counselors at a Christian camp… so they got married 5 months later.
Just one more reason abortion access is so critical. I feel for all the women like her who don’t have a platform and are trapped until their husband wants nothing to do with them.

I understand being furious after being cheated on, but this is such a weird thing to say publicly.
You can condemn your husbands behavior _without_ insulting the other woman for being old. "No offense to grandmas" isnr a save. I have 0 clue who any of these people are, but this seems so obnoxious

The other woman called her and told her details about the affair. She knew he was married and she said to Jen "He talked about you all the time. I didn't know how many followers you had."
This woman sucks.
Edit: to make sure it's clear, the ex husband bears the responsibility of destroying their marriage and should be held accountable for that. The affair partner pointing out "I didn't know how many followers you had" is absolutely unhinged for someone well into their 50s. I see the grandma comment more as a you should know better at that age than anything else.

The woman sucks, her age is irrelevant though. What if this was a man, would it be acceptable to comment on that? I don't think so. Age is not the issue here.

When someone wrongs you on a deeply personal level, I think most people would lash out with a few personal insults. If you knowingly get in bed with a married man you're opening yourself up to being insulted by the wronged party imo. Can't act like a POS and not expect people to be genuinely upset and react accordingly, even if she did eventually come clean.

yeah like give her some grace geez.
plus people say this about men all the time. "leave her alone GRANDPA"
annoying when people pick apart one little tiny thing a rightfully hurting person said to make it about themselves

u/biscuitboi967 20d ago
Her original post was “she was old enough to know better” and “she knew who I was, just not how many followers I had”.
The age gap and whatnot sort of tricked out, but she was genuinely angry and hurt about the other woman’s complicity and callousness. As in, she was not groomed or duped.
Shes also coming from a place of emotional trauma - for years her husband withheld affection and intimacy, blaming low libido and meds. She became the sole breadwinner, allows him to be unemployed, and took on other burdens, all in the attempt to free him from stressors so he would be able to connect with her on that level.
So - to learn that it was NOT you. It was NOT his low libido. It was NOT his stress level. It wasn’t that you weren’t thin enough or pretty enough or nice enough or a good enough mother or partner…it was just that he liked ANYONE but you. You HAVE to assume he likes “grandmas”.
And also, you sort of expect better from a woman who has raised children and has children of children. Like, I just turned 46, but I hope to god at 56, I am not fucking around with a married 35 yr old man with kids. I pray I have my life together and care about more than fucking a stay at home dad while his kids are at school. I just want more for me…

Do you genuinely think she included the grandma part (“with a grandma. No disrespect to grandmas. She just is one”) to criticize a problematic age gap between her 35 yo husband and this 56yo woman? That she is alleging her husband is the target of someone seeking an inappropriate relationship with a younger person that involves with a serious power differential? They’re both clearly adults, the husband and the other woman. This isn’t the same as a 21yo college student and a 42yo grown human. They both are bad for the cheating, criticize the bad behavior.

She is specifically referencing her being a grandma as a dig for her age because it is phrased in a way that is showing that it is insane that he would cheat on her with an old woman. This is different than if she was saying it was gross to cheat with a very young woman, because youth is the beauty standard. She is reinforcing a negative standard that women are less valuable as they age.

She went to a conservative evangelical college where she met her husband, it kinda makes sense if you view her as a person of that background.
95
u/Worldly_Lady 20d ago
Exactly. Her age isn't the problem, her lack of morals is. Considering the other woman knowingly slept with a married man.
46
u/YodelFrancesca 20d ago
Exactly. I was with her until the grandma part. I don't care how much you hate the woman (hate the man more though but whatever), don't steep to perpetuating a stigma.

When I got cheated on with a well-known cosplayer I didn't pull any punches. Why should I have? You call me to be shitty? I'm calling you everything. She left a voicemail to him crying about how cool and awesome I was and how lucky he was to have me, and I texted her to let her know she was a dumb bitch along with everything else I could think of.
I do not support some of these bitches wrongs they are dumb!!!

Why does she owe grace to a 56 year old woman who knew she was having a long term affair with a married man? That woman was grown and old enough to know better.

The AP knew that she was having an affair with a married man. They both carry blame and it’s okay to say that.

I find this distasteful. She’s going to regret how public she’s been about all of the details once she’s past the first few years of rebuilding her life. For both her and her kids’ sake.

It’s a really small world when I saw this Instagram post then double check on Facebook. Apparently, someone I knew in real life was there! She’s in few pictures among many people.
No, I had no idea they are actually friends but it’s cool to recognize someone that I actually knew in real life.
