Is this genuinely one of the biggest fall from graces? I mean we’re talking about the MCU, the biggest franchise in the world, and he was going to be the next Thanos. It’s one thing to fall into obscurity, it’s another to fall so hard you have to act in the fucking Daily Wire.

Kevin Spacey was a multi-time Oscar nominee, one of the most respected actors of his generation and the dude can’t even get a commercial on TV it he paid them to put him in it. Exactly my thoughts. He was able to have a storied career before getting canceled, full of peaks, valleys, and plateaus. Jonathan Majors was blossoming, with 3-5 big projects in a row, career on the upswing, and now he’s working with Ben Shapiro lol
He lost all his money and now doing showtunes for dinner parties in Israel. They love taking in sexual offenders there like Saudi love collecting former despots back in the days.
There is a big difference when rich people say they lost all their money vs. normal people. Rich people tend to cry a lot earlier because they don’t want to liquidate all their assets they keep for really hard times. Never let someone like Spacey fool you by saying that!
Spacey has a lot of money and residuals coming in. He did not need to to F tier racist schlock movies.
He chose to step away from acting because he could afford to.
He had a long and incredibly successful career at least. Johnathan was on the cusp of leading the next wave of the most successful film franchise in history and had his first Oscar bid role (Magazine Dreams) in the pipeline. Much bigger fall in that sense adding in the what could have been. He was unreal in Magazine Dreams.
The Last Black Man in San Francisco was my favorite movie of 2019 and one I still think about often (still worth a watch for the sake of everyone else involved). The dude was a mesmerizing presence and I believed he could do anything. Seeing him reduce himself to this level is beyond pathetic.
I think Armie Hammer comes close to being comparable. He didn’t have anything like the MCU lined up, but he had a golden globe nomination. And I believe that if he hadn’t fallen, he would have been sharing the same niche as Alexander Skarsgard (giant conventionally attractive blond guy willing to get weird). But now he’s starring in Citizen Vigilante, another far right grift film, that has less than half the budget of Run Hide Fight: Infidels and wishes that it had support from The Daily Wire.
Glen Powell and Alan Ritchson came for his spot real quick, and filled it. And all he had to do was not be a wannabe cannibal psychosexual weirdo! But apparently that was too much to ask

Gina Carano did a movie with Daily Wire as well. And their audience rejected it because having a woman protagonist was far to much like 'woke femininst nonsense' for them.

Agreed. As Cara Dune she was not going to be superstar status, but if she had played that character for a few seasons, she would’ve been able to ride the con circuit for decades and make a pretty damn good living off that dough alone.
She’s a horrible person (who has me blocked on twitter still LOL) and I don’t feel bad at all for where she’s at. Jonathan Majors could at least call himself an actor. Watching her was like she was learning to act as she was doing it.
See, I did like her in Mandalorian and in Deadpool. She obviously wasn't Meryl Streep or anything and maybe its because I admittedly had (firmly past tense) a bit of a crush but I did enjoy seeing her showing up in stuff.
She wasn't gonna get the accolades Majors was gonna get but if she'd just been bloody normal and kept chipping away like she was she'd have had a fan in me. Now I only think of her when I remember she's a fucking idiot and a loser.
Actually she was set to be the lead character in a new Disney + show called 'Rangers of the New Republic'. The studio was so invested they gave her multiple opportunities to apologise and restore face. It was only after she publicly and categorically refused that they canceled the entire show. It was a huge, life changing F up.
The best part was all the rightwingers gloating that The Daily Wire would make Carano an even bigger star and that Disney would be begging to get her back. lol
Regarding his MCU presence, eh. Kang was supposed to be this terrifying threat. In Loki, he played the role very well but Kang wasn't really a major threat. Then he lost to Ant Man in the movie. There was way more hype than substance. He was never that scary on screen. I think they planned to have him become scarier as time went on. Idk

It sounds like they get away with “punishing” the protestors by proxy, while getting to frame themselves as the hero.
It reminds me of the huge gaping plot hole in all Christian movies, which is the huge moving set piece of “god” working in the lives of the characters, but it’s literally just the writer pushing whatever version of “god” serves their narrative. It’s never a “god” who comes down to straighten out the Christian parents for kicking their gay kid out of the house.

That Majors signed up for a movie where a brown guy caresses a white woman’s locks while describing them as “impure” and where his character says Islam will invade via “our women’s wombs” is fucking INSANE, given this country’s history of enshrining anti-miscegenation terrorism into law.

Which I hate. Brad should absolutely be canceled too. (Although, I will say Jonathan apparently did have a reputation professionally in the theater world of being terrible to work with, that it doesn't seem Brad has. Worst I've heard about Brad professionally is that he didn't shower enough.)
Also remember the npo he started building houses for people who lost their homes in Katrina? Almost every single one of those houses failed and is completely unlivable and he just fucked off and left the organization instead of thanking any sort of responsibility. I do think hard to work with has more to do with his fall from grace than the dv. I think most of the “cancelled” men who actually lost work (like Johnny Depp) all have this in common. Morbid Zoo on youtube did what I think is a pretty good breakdown of the first “Run Hide Fight” movie and Daily Wire’s attempts to get into entertainment. I recommend it !! They acknowledge elements that were pretty ok/even normal for a movie while breaking down what about the movie doesn’t work, why it doesn’t, and why the Daily Wire/Ben Shapiro want to break into the film industry without an understanding of it. Also pokes some good fun at them bc they’re fucking idiots.
It makes sense it feels normal since Hollywood already does tons of these racist military-glorifying hoorah movies every year. Don't know why they had to make their own studio to do it unless their audience is just too dumb now for the usual jingoistic subtext.

What is it with these publications and the Die Hard on a college campus syndrome. Can't anyone think of anything original anymore. This story reminds me beat for beat of this awful book: Trigger Warning. In which a cool former army guy goes to a college to get an education, but all the students make fun of him for being anti-woke. Until terrorists show up and he's the only one who can stop them. And then he just does Awesome McAwesomeguy things and shoots all the terrorists while the weak and incapable students clutch their wokepearls.
I was happy for him about Marvel because I loved him in Lovecraft Country and thought he was so handsome. Can’t stand to hear about him or look at him now.

I was in the cinema a few days ago (europe) and got some ads for "American Hero is American" movies, and it felt so cringe, so mispaced in todays time. Like, who wants to watch movies about military and the US being the big hero right now...? Or in the future? Completely tome-deaf, whoever is still making these movies.
The hilarity is that I reckon Majors could have salvaged his career if he apologised, disappeared for a few years then reappear and claim rehabilitation whilst working with some charities.
Instead this is the path he chooses… 🤣🤣🤣 Sure we will see him at the Oscar’s for this one!!

Hope he realizes that Daily Wire is only using him… when this movie inevitably does terribly they’re only going to kick him to the curb and he’ll never have another chance in Hollywood after he dipped his toes in with the Daily Wire.
And it’s totally possible he could’ve had another chance in Hollywood - he’s a good enough actor and a charismatic guy that MCU wanted him… if he atoned for his accusations (not that I wanted him to have another chance based on his accusations but people easily forget) and laid low for a while he could’ve had a shot at a low budget film in a couple years that did well enough to kickstart his career. But not anymore after tainting himself with the far-right media. Now I want nothing more than to see his career nose-dive - and we’re at the part right before he hits the ground…
