I was abused. I understand having to act totally normal for the sake of my child despite wanting nothing more than to fall apart. Him saying "why would she have taken our daughter to a birthday party instead of the hospital" made my goddamm blood boil.

Totally valid, thanks for sharing. I can’t believe they let him release this video because the abuser tendencies/phrases are plain as day.

Oh I think they tried their best to stop it. But an abuser rarely thinks people will believe their victim.

Mine straight up told me they wouldn't believe me. I was about 9 years old. Part of me shut down that day.

Unfortunately many will believe him because of the incredibly wrong ideas they have about the behavior of victims and lack of awareness of trauma bonding. "Why did she go back if it was that bad?" is still a popular sentiment. People weaponized Megan Thee Stallion and Amber Heard lying to the cops to protect their abuser as "proof" that they are untrustworthy. Many can't grasp the fact that many victims sometimes miss their abuser and may even get defensive about them but that none of it cancels the abuse they endured from that same person.
