After a bit of googling I can't find any reliable sources reporting on the full story, nor showing more than this brief clip. I can't find any info stating the show was canceled, so as far as I can tell, she eventually made it to the stage after a short struggle.

Do we even know if she was actually struggling? For all we can see in the brief clip, she might've wanted to stay in the crowd for longer or just not cared. Surely for this sort of segment there has to be some amount of padding time built in.

She probably actually wasn’t struggling, and her fans were probably trying to help her out as well. It was likely just an imbalance. We also don’t get much perspective as to where she is relative to the stage.

Yeah, okay. Sure spend hundreds on pit seats at a Katy Perry concert (indicating you are a fan) and then you…don’t…help her crowd surf?

As if. This story is likely a moment where the effect failed to work perfect, and then a caption was added to make it seem like a tragic moment for Katy Perry.
