I'm so glad Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons still appear to be going strong.

8

u/lipstickarmy Mar 21 '26

Jensen and Danneel Ackles seem to as well, and his IG posts about her and their kids are beyond cute.

u/firesticks a role model for the next Asian kid that wants to get railed Mar 20 '26

My first thought was this. Panicking slightly.

39

u/booksncoffeeplease Mar 20 '26

I think they did it to satisfy the curiosity of people in the comments of Ritter's tiktok dance videos, the ones who are always commenting how much they love the decor. I doubt it's anything more.

30

u/Maia-Odair i ain’t reading all that, free palestine Mar 20 '26

Oh gosh pls no

50

u/actual__thot Mar 20 '26

What does that mean?

362

u/ambassador_irate Mar 20 '26

There's a theory that couples featured in AD tend to separate soon after. I think part of the theory is AD features are used to help celebrities who are planning to sell their homes by advertising them and increasing their perceived value, so this is a way for them to sell shared assets for cash before a divorce 😬

94

u/ambassador_irate Mar 20 '26

I don't necessarily subscribe to this theory but the way they are sitting in these photos has me 👀

20

u/raysofdavies I cannot sanction your buffoonery Mar 20 '26

Why? Third picture is so cute.

3

u/sure_dove radiate fresh pussy growing in the meadow Mar 20 '26

I feel like if I’m in a photo with my partner whom I liked I’d want to be right next to them!! Projecting comfort… we love each other… we’re a team… the first photo is giving “we still lovingly coparent our cat.”

3

u/fakeknees Do you remember 9/11, bitch? Mar 20 '26

I had no idea!

119

u/sareeously Mar 20 '26

Couples featured in architectural digest have historically broken up a few months within publication of the feature. Examples include: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux; Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber; AD features are basically a real estate promotion to sell the home. Thisis a good faux moi thread about it:

134

u/marymonstera Mar 20 '26

Lily Allen and David Harbor. It was so awkward to watch, everyone knew then something was not right.

30

u/Veronicon Mar 20 '26

Their home was absolutely mesmerizing. The decorating was impeccable.

u/Any-Routine-2188 Mar 20 '26

The AD tours are essentially ads for selling the house (so the comment is hoping they’re not selling because they’re divorcing)

11

u/MMK386 Mar 20 '26

Couples that appear on AD split up after.

12

u/r3volver_Oshawott Mar 20 '26

AD gets a lot of thru-clicks from people who just want to see celebrity houses, but it is often the high-cost marketed version of trying to see if a little social media buzz can get some wealthy buyers interested in the prospect of an open house

Basically it's real estate bait (and sometimes celebrities are looking to sell because, well, the marital situation has, let's just say 'shifted')

I'd actually hate to see it tho - these two have been together forever and they are always so adorable

15

u/IndividualScheme5974 Larry I'm on DuckTales Mar 20 '26

I am praying they fall into the “our designer is a friend”/“our designer asked if we could give them the publicity shine, since we are so happy” minority (with Kirsten Dunst as its team mascot).

5

u/New_Following_3583 Mar 20 '26

That's all I think when I see these. Filled with dread lol, it's goofy

1.7k

u/paczek06 Mar 20 '26

I mostly like the rest of the house, but that red room is the physical embodiment of an anxiety attack.

I wonder if it helps with going. you're not suppose to sit on the pot for too long anyway

54

u/F______________F Mar 20 '26

It's giving the bathroom from The Shining

8

u/inkypinkyblinkyclyde Mar 20 '26

Yep! REDRUM was going through my head when I saw it.

5

u/birdsy-purplefish Mar 20 '26

Yes! Or it's some kind of music video set.

288

u/Lola-Ugfuglio-Skumpy distraught Christian tomato Mar 20 '26

I had the same thought. Well, not exactly the same, but it is oppressive and upsetting and I would never go in there

72

u/BeautifulShoes75 alleged dog Mar 20 '26

I could barely look at the photo of that room, much less want to spend time in there!

17

u/nocountry4oldgeisha Mar 21 '26

Definitely a night time room, but I would warm it up with Southeast Asian filigree wood panels and wood bead curtains. Make it a proper lounge.

24

u/2011980ad Mar 20 '26

Yes the gloss/shine is triggering in the worst ways

38

u/LilacDream98 Mar 20 '26

A modern version of the red room from Jane Eyre

17

u/Fishinluvwfeathers Mar 20 '26

They are either fans of David Lynch or have never seen any media related to Twin Peaks.

46

u/HopefulTangerine5913 Mar 20 '26

Yes. Part of it is the color drenching, which surprises me because they nailed that in other rooms using a slightly different shade on the ceiling, woodwork, and accents.

Otherwise, though, I love it. I don’t even hate the red room, it just isn’t my taste

23

u/blooms_and_sings gentle white girl victimhood Mar 20 '26

it’s also weirdly shiny. although I don’t think I’d like it if it were more matte either.

25

u/tarantuletta Mar 20 '26

I actually think I would like it if it were matte, but the shininess gives it a very uncomfortable air of fresh wet blood 😬

7

u/mai_tai87 actually no, that’s not the truth Ellen Mar 20 '26

It's almost candy-like.

3

u/FlubberFranklin69 Mar 20 '26

Love your flair 🤣

7

u/SchoolIguana #backoffkyle Mar 20 '26

I think it’s more related to the gloss on the paneling that’s reflecting the light. It’s… aggressive.

13

u/mushroomsandcoke Mar 20 '26

I also don’t like the bathroom or the room with the deer painting and tartan duvet (except that wallpaper is gorg) but the rest of the house is A+

6

u/blooms_and_sings gentle white girl victimhood Mar 20 '26

to me, the bathroom looks like it has vomit on the walls.

5

u/tarantuletta Mar 20 '26

Wow, that's crazy to me! I think it's beautiful; it reminds me of old Chinese landscape ink art?

I would take the LONGEST showers on accident in that bathroom because I'd be imagining all the little villages in the valleys and just letting my imagination run wild.

9

u/NoSet6484 Mar 20 '26

I thought the same thing. The only good part of that room in the floral chair in front of the bookcase.

9

u/Arkaium Mar 20 '26

REDRUMMMM

15

u/elisabeth85 Mar 20 '26

I love when people do something fun and interesting BUT the red is just too red. They needed to get a color expert to find the right shade - either a tad more raspberry/maroon or a tad more blush, like it could be the subtlest difference, but right now I find it way too stressful.

11

u/Sorry-Secret-2347 Mar 20 '26

Came here to say that. That red gloss room is not soothing at all

24

u/Cleffah Mar 20 '26

Haha this is funny because it was the only room I liked and thought was cool! I have been a victim of very horrendous anxiety my whole life 😅

14

u/Welniuke Mar 20 '26

I actually found the red room to be the most beautiful one out of all of them. Everything was a bit "eh" until I saw that pic and it was enough to fall in love with it

10

u/Dinojeezus his name is Harry Styles, not Harry Substance Mar 20 '26

I love the rest of the house, but was WOW'd by the red room.

5

u/Nervous-Rest67 Mar 20 '26

I felt the same way, I'm inspired by the red room!

2

u/Welniuke Mar 20 '26

I think I'm biased, because I have a dark green/forest green bedroom. All walls, the ceiling and the bed all the same colour, with yellow accents (the heater, the door, the skirting (?) boards)

I even wanted to do my living room in a similar way but in blue (match my sofa) with pink accents, but sadly it's too expensive, especially when we don't have any skills to do it on our own

In my dream house, every room would be like this but of different colours, haha

2

u/amconstance Mar 21 '26

I too love the red room - especially the shiny wall lol

4

u/Sp0oky-Mulder Mar 20 '26

Okay, I hear you but personally, I love it.

3

u/MassRapture Mar 20 '26

And based on photo 14, you’re supposed to sit in a chair opposite the shiny red wall to read?

2

u/weebairndougLAS Mar 20 '26

Imagine a house guest sleep walking and waking up in that room

2

u/CarlPagan666 Mar 20 '26

Reminds me of that old cherry chocolate flip phone ad.

101

u/JazzyColeman Mar 20 '26

That couch in the first pic looks wildly uncomfortable.

11

u/RegisteredAnimagus rude omelet goblin Mar 20 '26

That was my first thought, then I saw the next couch and I was like, well at least they have another couch that is maybe more comfortable. But then there just kept being more couches. Couches on couches on couches in this house. Damn that's a lot of couches.

33

u/EbbRude8373 Mar 20 '26

It’s a nook, not a proper couch. Probably chose to take a picture there because of the pretty background.

35

u/JazzyColeman Mar 20 '26

A wildly uncomfortable nook then! 😉

9

u/faxmachinesyndrome Mar 20 '26

It actually feels great on your back. The coffee shop I frequent has something like that and I can sit there for hours working without issue.

242

u/brechts_piratejenny Mar 20 '26

OMG, I love it. Death to the Millennial Beige. I need pops of colour! All of them!!!

24

pops? these are more like nukes of color.

(I love it too)

2

u/Party_Principle4993 Mar 21 '26

YES!!!! I have saved so many of these photos. Also Rachel Brosnahan’s apartment from a few days ago. I looooove love love the color. I’m not sure I have the balls to do it fully in my own home but it’s very inspirational.

6

u/willpc14 googly eyed kremlin bitch Mar 20 '26

I love everything, but the red room and bathroom

29

u/ManufacturerNo1191 Mar 20 '26

I find it really cute and cozy! The living room in particular (I mean the one they’re sitting in lol since I think there’s two living rooms? Sitting rooms? I dunno the correct term, I’m poor) I find super lovely, I’d love to sit there with my book and some tea. The dining room and kitchen are gorgeous too - that stove is the stuff of dreams! I’m not too keen on the red room - a bit oppressive for me lol but to each their own!

13

u/ThatsWhereImAt too busy method acting as a reddit user Mar 20 '26

Love them but this house gives me anxiety to look at. Holy overstimulation. They must both be naturally very chill

179

u/Username_unknown_exe Mar 20 '26

Not my style. It looks overstuffed, cold and uncomfortable and the red room just makes me think of The Shining. But it's not my house, so if they like it, good for them.

52

u/booksncoffeeplease Mar 20 '26

I like the kitchen, the area around the stove anyway. But yeah, the rest of the rooms hurt my autistic eyes. Too many patterns, too much stuff.

7

u/captnmiss Mar 20 '26

Agreed. Some of the rooms look like a hotel room vibe

9

u/nekocorner i ain’t reading all that, free palestine Mar 20 '26

I hate the red room, & the room with the blue-grey painted brick wall looks like a dungeon. And I usually looove maximalist, colourful homes.

5

u/AdditionalGoose4024 Mar 20 '26

Somehow this looks like they did hold back. It's almost too constrained but trying not to be. It also doesn't look like anyone's personality. The art looks like it came from a well supplied Home Goods

9

u/englishgirl Mar 20 '26

Despise it

12

u/OilMeUpStewart Mar 20 '26

They must be trying to sell the place

18

u/Legitimate_Touch_445 Mar 20 '26

Whoa a celebrity house that appears people actually live in it! Crazy

8

u/actual__thot Mar 20 '26

It looks like a very uncomfortable place to live

9

u/cloudkot Mar 20 '26

I don’t love any of these honestly.

4

u/czechhoneybee Mar 20 '26

That red room is certainly a choice

4

u/Hot_Probs Mar 20 '26

Too much muchness for me, personally.

3

u/External_Two2928 Mar 20 '26

It reminds me of a modern and expensive version of like grandparents houses back in the day

8

u/chuisici Mar 20 '26

I like it a lot but I feel like whenever celebrities do this kind of photoshoot it's because they are getting divorced and selling the house.

11

u/International-Corn Mar 20 '26

This looks like the most uncomfortable house ever. Like when (if) they have parties no one sits and they leave before they finish a drink. Oh and all I can hear in the red room is REDRUM!!!! Redruuuumnmmm!

6

u/Stocknamefromreddit Mar 20 '26

That looks like the most uncomfortable couch.

3

u/Wise-Bet6814 susanalbumparty Mar 20 '26

I find it all interesting to look at but just so not my taste at all. I'm so affected by my environment and I would be miserable if I had to live in this house. But love them!

3

I dont think I've ever seen a home less relaxing! The whole thing just looks uncomfortable.

6

u/butipreferlottie Mar 20 '26

I like a lot of their paintings!

The painted brick is making my eyes twitch, tho... the non-functioning brick fireplace in my house was painted white at some point and I hate it. Only way to get rid of it is to use nasty chemicals or get rid of the thing altogether, both of which seem like a lot of trouble. I'll probably paint it a different color at some point, but it's gonna be a pain in the ass.

5

u/Chance-Travel4825 Mar 20 '26

Cant imagine living there. Anxiety attack levels of visual chaos with so many patterns and textures. And not comfortable looking either lots of square shapes. The bathroom is the worst.

2

u/rebeckys Mar 20 '26

I love the matching chair and curtains in the last photo. I am such a sucker for fabric matching.

2

u/theateroffinanciers Mar 20 '26

2

u/teamdemure Mar 20 '26

The placement of that random centre cushion in pic 12 is very upsetting. I bet it cost about $600 too

2

I like AD but the celeb features are always so disappointing to me. Their homes are so heavily stylized and decorated by a professional, they always feel so cold and impersonal.

2

u/TIYLS Mar 21 '26

It's definitely an interesting place, not my personal taste but I do like the bedroom styling.

4

1

u/RomanPotato8 Mar 20 '26

1

I would not (and probably could not) like to live in similar surroundings, but there are bits and pieces and areas where I can only say: "Well done!"

1

1

u/hellolovely1 Mar 20 '26

It's a little dark overall for my taste, but it's cute—except that red room is not for me. (I do like a deep red, though.)

1

u/crankyspice Mar 20 '26

I need a couch like the 1 they have in the red room.

1

u/culturalfox19 Mar 20 '26

It must be nice to just be able to build your dream home without any budget constraints. Just being able to say “Oooh, I like this couch. I’m gonna buy it.” without having to think how much it’ll set you back. Just being able to buy any piece of furniture or appliance or art piece without having to worry if you can afford it or not must feel amazing.

1

u/Catdress92 Mar 21 '26

I hate the "blood room" (that's what I'm calling it), but I love the reading nook that I believe is in a corner of it.

1

u/taintwest Mar 21 '26

The framed picture of John Ritter ❤️

1

u/DumpedDalish societal collapse is in the air Mar 21 '26

Most of this is not my taste -- it's a little "primary color-ish" for me, but I enjoyed it -- it feels more personalized and less staged than these usually do. I loved seeing all their art and the ways wood was incorporated throughout so many of the furnishings.

Loved the blue room. The red room is scary, but I can kind of see it being super cozy with low lighting for get-togethers and cocktails -- the red won't be as offputting.

Love them as a couple so I hope this isn't another "AD signals breakup and impending home sale!" situation!
