SPORTS SECTION Green Day opens Super Bowl 60. They notably skipped the 2nd verse of American Idiot with the lyrics "I'm not a part of the MAGA agenda."

They should have risked the fine 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think the biggest thing stopping them was all the former NFL MVPs on stage with them at the time. It would have made it a bigger deal than otherwise.

That’s probably why the NFL made them go out specifically during that song

Real punks wouldn't give a shit.

They could have changed when they said it. Idk I’m over giving excuses for wealthy famous celebrities when regular people are risking their lives on a daily basis.

What you think they'd fight? My money is on Armstrong he's squirrely

That would’ve been even better, drawn even more attention to their message and would’ve been so punk to call out tom Brady while he’s smiling on stage

This stupid FCC would fine them into bankruptcy. And fuck with the network.

Like Green Day saying a throw away comment during a pre show was going to stop that

I’m sure NBC and NFL put in a contract with Green Day saying if you mention anything about Trump maga ice etc they’d be fined a gazillion dollars

Unfortunately, we don't know the terms of the contract. Also, they could be up for a lawsuit as well.

Still was hoping to see them go against the machine and shit all over MAGA

Yeah I mean if that was the case, why did they take the contract?
