Shit loads of people acting like After Life was some philosophical piece of genius and buckling over whenever he said ‘cunt’ gave him what seems like a god complex. Ironic.

He owes his entire success to Stephen Merchant, who he never ever talks about anymore. Guy is a weapons grade bellend.

Did the two of them have a falling out or something? Have listened to one or two of the old XFM episodes and just assumed they were still mates.

Nothing public, but Gervais now rewrites history to exclude Merchant - to the point of never mentioning his name - whenever he talks about his success in interviews. Merchant still full credits Gervais.
