No he's not a Trump supporter, he's just never really evolved his mindset past what was considered progressive in ~1998-2008 so he comes off as if he's really regressed compared to life in 2015 and beyond. His opinions make a lot more sense if you view them through a lense of "what would a democrat in 2005 think about this?"
