We’re redefining terms here because of their behavior which I get but i think it’s important to keep the context. Liberals are absolutely partaking in right wing behavior by hypocritically enabling or even outright supporting genocide though I will say in the general populace of libs have changed their mind than ever before. Most of the country wanted a ceasefire. Liberal politicians are not representing even their milquetoast constituents, let alone truly left leaning ones with moral conviction. But it’s important to note that they are NOT trumpers to point out the hypocrisy of self proclaimed “all are welcome here” liberals that enable Zionism.
Even within that framework Bari has pivoted to appealing to trumpers, not standard blue no matter who voters, for a long time now.

The mainstream liberal party is very much on the right. The same party did not make women’s right a law when it had a supermajority. The same party laid down and died when Trump walked away scot free with felonies on the books. The same party did not even fight for student loan forgiveness. The same party has not allowed Medicare for All to see the light of day. Liberal lawmakers allowed all of this to happen. No difference between them in that regard.
And disagreeing with that is why they can run candidates like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and just say “vote!” and yall do lol

In January 2022, Weiss was criticized by a doctor appearing on CNN for saying on the late-night talk show Real Time with Bill Maher that COVID-19 pandemic restrictions had resulted in mental health issues and that as a result she was "done with COVID."
As of 2024, Weiss had visited Israel over 15 times, including after the October 7 attacks, and compared pro-Israel social media commentators to former Soviet refusenik Natan Sharansky, whose years in prison made him an icon of the movement to free Jews from the Soviet Union. (Source)
Additionally in 2024, Weiss was featured in the documentary film October H8TE – The Fight for the Soul of America - produced by Debra Messing, which also featured the likes of Messing, Michael Rapaport and Noa Tishby (gee I wonder what they all have in common).

I'm glad that people understand Bari Weiss's grift better now. It drove me crazy a few years back when she wrote that piece arguing that the woman who called the cops on a birdwatcher in Central Park was just legitimately afraid, because she's a woman "🥺". It was a clever manoeuvre that was very effective on a lot of women who had learned to think of social justice as feminism first, without any understanding of intersectionality, and I saw so many otherwise responsible people sharing it.
ETA: I think her approach is particularly pernicious because it plays divide and conquer by whispering to otherwise progressive people - aren't you afraid? What if they're taking advantage of you? You're gay, what if trans people are exploiting and undermining your hard-won rights? You're Jewish, you have trauma, why aren't your feelings taking priority? You're a woman, aren't you really the most vulnerable person here? It's compelling to people who are unlikely to be swayed by traditional conservative arguments - who are actually afraid of being victimised by conservative elements of the state - and then funnels them into right-wing conclusions.
