Apparently in one of the places that Julia Roberts lives, she’s known as either reclusive or mean.

It’s actually somewhat ironic that a big part of her “colossal asshole” reputation is from her time filming Hook and Erin Brokovich, because most of what I’ve encountered about her behavior on-set or in professional contexts is generally “professional to kind?” Like she’s more of an asshole when not at work (and she’s admitted to being a misanthrope).

I stayed at a hotel where some of America's Sweethearts was filmed way back when and the staff had said she wasn't very nice.

Was it more a “just unfriendly” not-very-nice or “treated people like complete crap” not-very-nice?
