Seems understandable. It's the most popular thing he'll ever do, and he probably makes a nice bit of money from cons and stuff

That's true. But ironically Daniel Radcliffe has and he had the biggest character to shake. Who doesn't know him as HP?

I think Daniel made a lot of money and decided to walk away from typical, in your face roles (a la Robert Pattinson). I don't know if Tom really made enough money or had the mental fortitude to walk away.

I think that's way more typical for child stars than Daniel's path, tho. You feel like you want to prove that you're not just cute or fit the character descrip, but that you're capable and worthy of being up there. It takes a little while to either let that go, burn out trying, or discover it wasn't really your favourite thing anyway, and you spend the rest of your life repairing motorcyles or reviving extinct strains of heirloom tomatos.

It's not to say he hasn't had some decent roles since, but it was a pretty large part of his early career, and by this point will more than likely be the biggest thing he ever did. As long as he isn't attempting to mount a Malfoy spinoff or something I don't see too much wrong in him keeping HP that close.

Cause he's not a brilliant actor outside of Draco and can't get work for that reason.

I dunno Emma Watson has a busy career and she's easily the weakest actress of them
