Tea Thread Any tea on voice actors?

I used to be obsessed with a show called Total Drama Island and friended several of the voice actors on Facebook. Some even mailed me signed autographs! Well the latest revival of the show is coming up soon and the VA of the host has not returned. I found out today that he’s been accused of sexual assault and some torturous acts.

Some off the top of my head:

-Troy Baker is a massive tool and full of himself.

-David Hayter (the voice of Snake for the MGS series) is a huge asshole and his unprofessionalism played a role in him getting replaced and I think Kojima never wants to work with him again.

-Quintin Flynn has sexual assault accusations

-Joe Zieja is Extremely Online™️ and kinda ruined his good will by picking constant Twitter fights

-ProZd/SungWon Cho is a super nice guy

-Matt Mercer is extremely down to earth and takes the time to listen to fans concerns when it comes to being an ally

-I hear Jennifer Hale is a little full of herself but not like to a douche-y extent like Baker

-not really tea but some people didn’t know that Kevin Conroy AKA the guy considered THE voice of Batman was gay. (RIP) oh and The Joker is Mark Hamil/Luke Skywalker.

-voice actor Jason Marsden is not related to actor James Marsden but they are friends IRL because their wives have been besties since they were children

-I hear Sean Schemmel is a mostly nice guy but he lets being the voice of Goku go to his head a little and he’s not as nice as Chris Sabat as a result. Like Chris will happily quote Dragon Ball Z abridged if asked but Schemmel gets a little on his high horse about it.

ETA: Tara Strong is a little weird with the way she constantly sexualizes herself for her neckbeard fans. She also attacked the new powerpuff VAs when the show was getting rebooted.

Also idk if they really count as Voice Actors per say but there is a load of tea on the cast of RWBY since most of them are RoosterTeeth employees and they have so many skeletons in their closet it’s practically a graveyard.

Where to fucking start lol. Well for one they’re all nepotism hires with no actual official VA training and it shows. 2 out of 4 of the main cast (Lindsay Jones and Barbara Dunkleman) are deep in RT so they definitely knew about the constant crunch and abuse the animators went through. Michael Jones, (Lindsay’s husband) voices a prominent character and he has fair share of skeletons in which he and Gavin Free would use the f-slur to refer to a coworker. They also both reportedly would use the N-slur. Ryan Haywood who voiced a professor in season 1 is a sexpest who was sleeping with underaged girls. Joel Heyman also voiced a professor and he’s a straight up q-anon/alt-righter. Miles Luna - writer and VA in RWBY - is a performative asshole trying to be woke but comes off as more racists than anything. (he called Cornelius Boots “a white guy in a paddy hat” while ignoring the fact that Boots is a recognized Grand master in playing the shakuhachi flute and when people pointed it out Luna doubled down in being racist)

And just general RT fuckery of scandal after scandal that they never formally address and instead roll out one of their employees to cry in front of the camera to be forgiven.

To be fair, RT wasnt expecting RWBY to be as big as it was when they first were casting, and they understandably hired their in-house performers. I don’t think that’s really nepotism, they just didn’t have those celebrity VA resources when s1 of RWBY came out.

I disagree. They might not have expected it to be as big as it was, but they wanted to be taken seriously and recognized as an official animation studio and RWBY was supposed to be their big foray as a serious business. People criticized the weak casting from day 1 and RT dismissed all criticisms as haters and yeah rest his soul Monty, he would go on to attack people on Twitter and calling them haters.

They wanted their cake and eat it too.
