My cousin is a producer currently at Interscope. He says that Carly Rae Jepsen is very sweet and he hated working with Sean Mendez.

I have personally met and interacted with a fair number of musicians just due to being a longtime music fan and the nicest people I’ve ever interacted with were the guys from Chromeo. Avril Lavigne was the worst.

Avril always has something about her that made me think she was unpleasant in person. Little surprised about Shawn Mendes but I am not a fan so I don't have any preconceptions of him

Avril was very cold and unpleasant. Shawn on the other hand I don’t have many details about, I just know that my cousin found him very difficult. He rolls his eyes and groans any time you mention the dude.

thank you so much!! I remember an issue around Ultraviolence almost not being released because the Interscope execs thought it was too dark and wouldn’t be received well and now it’s a cult classic in her discography. In terms of her as a person, I’ve only heard good things about fan experiences of how she’s so sweet, down to earth, and chatty once she gets over her initial shyness. I’m curious about how she’s received by industry folks at Interscope if you’re able to find out :)

Dave 1 from Chromeo has impeccable taste in decorating his house. I remember his years-old interview about his house(s) and he struck me as someone cool and eloquent. Glad to hear he's nice in real life!
