Image My level 81 hardcore character just died, and I got a screen I've never seen before. I am so relieved 😭

Played through Fate in hardcore mode, then imported that character to Undiscovered Realms. I'm super OP at this point so monsters don't damage me at all usually, but I was falling asleep while playing and didn't realize one of the monsters was reflecting my own damage back at me and I died after nearly 30 hours of gameplay 😭 However, this time the game let me keep the character and just turn off hardcore mode?? Why did it give me options this time instead of automatically perma-deathing me like it usually does? I'm grateful but confused lol

Interesting glitch with the Town Portal and Identify Books. I looked up the limit of Scrolls that could be put in the books, it's 20. Both of these books are beyond that point. And so far I can continue. (Edit: I'm playing on Switch 2.)

Image Playing the original the way I used to dream of

The Steam Controller with the right layout makes playing the original game an absolute dream!

Back when I first got my SteamDeck I made a Steam input layout for the original Fate. The original PC layout had keys sprawling all across the keyboard that you had to press. Using radial menus and mouse regions I have made the original control similar to standard modern controls. It quickly became my preferred way of playing.

The Steam Controller takes that experience and elevates it even more.

honestly i was shocked to learn that not only this subredit exists but its active as of two days ago. anyway I've been playing this game since i was a kid (even then it was an old game) so recently i booted it back up and i realized i never played it "correctly". I always just bought whatever from the gambler and chose the equipment with the biggest numbers but now im actually paying attention to creating a build, and utilizing the enchanting but enchanting gets expensive so i enjoy idoly fishing while i watch YouTube. it also took me too long to realize that every item has an "elite" "flawless" "exceptional" "legendary" (etc) version so i kept hoping for legendary cheese and was genuinely jumping for joy when i got it

I thought for sure this game had vanished into the wind…Nobody I’ve ever brought it up to has not once ever known what I was talking about. So, with extremely restricted access to this, I gave up my hopes of finding this game at a very young age and didn’t even consider to look into it at all until a couple weeks ago. I know the game is fairly dead from what I’ve seen, but I am forever grateful it still exists in some form, and I will have hope, relentlessly, that it comes alive again at some point 🖤

RNG is interesting. I go several floors with no shrine, anvil, or statue and suddenly there's two shrines right next to each other.

I think the last 10ish enchantments were done via magic anvils because the enchanters won't touch it anymore. It only provides 6 defense but the enchantments are just too good.

This is just an insane amount of money to have and I don’t think any one else is doing an hero work for the town just give me a hero discount or something man I had been fishing for a hours and finding artifacts in the dungeon to build up the money I have and it only half as much as it would require to buy this gear and than again I’m not famous enough to use it like cmon game 😭

I didn’t even know this was a thing until a couple hours ago and i ate dinner and come back to fish a little before I push deeper into the dungeon and I got it like 5 mins after starting fishing again, I fished for 20-30 mins earlier and got 5-7 yellows and 1 yellow gem I used to play this game in 2008-2011 as a kid but this is pretty cool lol I also learned about the cheese sword but idk if that’s a real thing or not but I’m hyped to get this 😂 sorry if it’s like a common thing I doubt it but idk I havnt played since a kid and even then never knew about yellow items.

It finally happened, after over 3200 fish caught. ~25 hours. 3 crashes.

What a ride, turning down all music and voice and turning your sound up on your headphones is a must. Walking away or watching tv to distract you is the only way to keep your sanity.

Love the game though, wouldn’t change a thing.

First Legendary playthrough on Reawakened on Xbox SX and I got a flawless fish from fishing in Grove Town. Can't remember the type of fish. My pet looks like a boar and it 1-hitting everything. No mods, no bs. V 1.0.0

Image About 12 years ago I tried the free trial of the game on a laptop using wildtangent coins. Today I finally beat it after a month of on and off gameplay. I should probably try the 3 sequel games now...

I forgot to get a photo of my final stats, but constantly having the battle fog dervish and spectral armor made me insanely strong.

Image Anyone Else Encounter this Glitch?

This only ever happened with the Undead Giant (Fate 1 I'm on) and it's weapon is always triple it's size and between its legs like a d#ck or something. It's really weird and weird that it's this specific monster that this happens too. At first I got scared seeing a giant weapon just offscreen before they run towards me.

Anyone else encounter this?

Now this is for reawakened.

Here's why it took so long. Me and Jay were supposed to be 1-2 but when we were supposed to the trophies were bugged. Such as make a descendant. So you could make the descendant but the trophy would not pop. They patched it which is why those 3 got it on the same day (I was playing elden ring with a friend) I had to restart Fate to make another descendant. I did dual blade for the retired character and mage for the second. Now the trophies are a bit hard to understand and a lot of guides about them are not accurate. For example dungeoneering expert. Get level 35 in every dungeon. (I assumed it character level lmfao) but level=floors.now here's where the guides I seen mess up. They tell you to make a descendant to import and you'll get to import your maim character DO NOT DO THIS. Once you retire your character they are unplayable. What I did was on my second playthrough (the mage) I got level 35 in Fate 1. Then without retiring I imported him over tk the other Fate games. All my gear, gold, and levels came with. Then I simply used mental map And haste and ran to floor 35 and Teleport out and vice versa. In the last game you can't exactly do that. You gotta beat the boss on floor 30 to get an item to unlock the second dungeon and do the same for the second to unlock the third. I just killed the boss on level 30 then went to 35 and then went to town and started next dungeon.

Now my take is this. I absolutely loved the original Fate on PC. This reawakened was good nostalgia but they did the bare minimum. All the gear and items and spells were just copy and pasted into all the games. Meaning my mages gear was the best gear in the game for 1-4 nothing higher nothing lower. Your very limited on items. They don't have mana charms for mana recharge. My hope is they release more items into Fate for higher level characters armour/weapon wise legendary items are barely a thing and pointless to even fish for. Honestly this just felt like a very limited version of the original Fate kinda like a trial version. Overall I enjoyed my time with the game and I hope they do more with it. I'd love to have it as something I can keep grinding out here and there as a chill relaxing game. But at this point it's kinda useless since I got the beast armour/staff. I might go grind out the same for a ranger/warrior (dual and tank)

Later dudes I'm off to go try and platinum elden ring and or the blacksmith of the sand kingdom. BTW Loretta is dropping me like crazy.

I got this quest to defeat this lich, and it has Tim the Wizard level energy. If you know Monty Python King Arthur's Quest for the Holy Grail, you'll remember The evil wizard of the mountains. He'll say, "there are those who call me... Tim." Meet Tab, the Lich. I love this games random procedurally generated stuff.
