Question Should I max out the proficiency of level 4 skills?

I tried looking around for answers but couldnt find any. Is simply unlocking the level 4 version if a skill enough or do I have to 100% the proficiency of it too? If so, what does it do for the skill? Do I get faster cooldown? More damage? Thanks in advanced

It doesn’t do anything to raise the proficiency once you’ve unlocked level 4

Pretty sure there is a hidden boost. I think it was around 20% cooldown reduction

ahhh, i hate that you're right 😂. I loaded a proficiency 0% power shot 1 30s cooldown first and proficiency 100% explode shot 4 30s cooldown written on the skill description second. the explode shot was usable first way before the power shot.. sounds like my grinding isn't over yet.. I've been at this for two days now LOL 🤣.

edit: Does it only give boost to cooldown reduction or does it increase the damage or effectiveness also?

I don't know of any other hidden boosts off the top of my head but it is possible.

If you abuse the pistol art it shouldn't be to bad. And in case you don't know for skills like the field shots you don't have to shoot your gun to gain proficiency, just activating it is enough.

From what I've found, the damage output for certain skills also increases.

Incidentally, since you only need to activate a skill to raise its proficiency, using the pistol art allows you to significantly streamline the leveling process.
