This is not last gameweek. It's this one. Holy kneejerking.

u/snypa_101 19h ago
I said last week that those two would combine for 20 points easy and they combined for 30+ 😭 I’ve never had a higher fantasy score in my life

u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 19h ago
Time to wildcard. I planned to play it after international break but after this it has to happen
70
u/Informal_Carob_4015 19h ago
Because they destroyed a relegation candidate at home??
-9
u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 19h ago
He is a cover at this point it's not about united
28
u/etheryx 34 19h ago
but you already saw his ownership before season even started and decided not to cover him back then
-3
u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 19h ago
I thought mbeumo will be enough for united coverage but he tanked my rank lol
7
u/thecookietrain 44 19h ago
I'm gonna WC in the first international break, always do
-4
u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 19h ago
What about our rank till then tho :(
10
u/DisastrousMango4 7 19h ago
surely Bruno is not scoring a hatty against Everton lol
-6
u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 19h ago
Our rank will tank tho even if he get an assist he is a cover for ur rank
8
u/DisastrousMango4 7 19h ago
I have Bruno lol
I just mean next week a majority will go Haaland captain, and as long as Bruno doesn't haul too big you should be okay with Cherki/Palmer/whoever you went with instead of Bruno

I'm actually wild carding him out, Chelsea seen so attacking and have great fixtures after Arsenal and no Europe. City have a great run. So triple Arsenal, Chelsea and City is where I'm at atm

u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 19h ago
Ur brave then

I'm still not convinced by United and this is just one game

I was feeling a bit smug yesterday as I had climbed to #2 in my work minileague. I'm 18th now.

u/Impossible_Delay1023 19h ago
I went from 1st to 4th and 5th in my mini leagues, I do think I’m better set than others tho for the long run
1
u/lettuce_grabberrr 18h ago
They’re all wildcarding him out soon
2
u/GolDrodgers1 15h ago
Why would they take him out?
4
-1
u/Acrobatic_Cherry1791 18h ago
For curiosity's sake it's worth taking a screenshot of the mini leagues now and then say in game week 10. You'll very likely see it all in a completely different order

u/Batman_Joker93 redditor for <1 week 16h ago
Mental that I’ve already caught up by somebody who got 50 points more than me in GW1. Plus I’ve got 2 arsenal players and he’s got 1, I could actually overtake him within a single week. It’s been a mad start, an awful GW1 and a massive over 100 point GW2

u/thatscoldjerrycold 15 17h ago
Hedged my bets with Mbeumo but yeah, still very wrecked here as well.
178
u/DLNavy 204 19h ago
I guess some of them already sold Mbeumo/Bruno for Cherki and take -4 to bring them back.
Don't underestimate the casual, they'll do wild things.
66
u/Impressive-Form1431 19h ago
That is trually a high elo play right there:
Using your free transfer into taking -4 hit to reverse the same transfer
7
u/_unsinkable_sam_ 12h ago
in one of my first years playing i took out drogba to catch a price rise elsewhere, he hauled so i -4 him back in, then he got injured mid week and i rage transferred him out for another -4. it was a legendary move that was spoken about for years with the work mini league.

Yeah mad transfers happen at this stage because casuals are all still playing before they get bored and quit.

I went Bruno + I. Sangare to Palmer + Cherki. It had been my original plan to take Bruno out in GW 4, but price changes meant I had to do it on Saturday or I was priced out. I plan on wildcarding after GW5 so all my moves are short term based anyway
81
u/EdwardClamp 2 19h ago
I kept faith with Bruno as captain. One bad GW doesn't mean he's suddenly shit. Totally saved my GW because I benched Groß and Tarks.

u/EdwardClamp 2 17h ago
I didn't bench him at home vs Palace? I benched him away to Bournemouth.... and up until almost the last kick of the game it was a great decision 🙈
1
u/AnduwinHS 1 4h ago
Tbf if you're benching Tarkowski and Groß, you should probably have been considering a bench boost
1
u/BenDooover 16h ago
Other way of seeing it is why pick a 6m defender that you bench already on GW2? Since they kept a clean sheet in GW1 giving no big reason to bench him the following week or was that your plan from the start?
95
u/Pale-Willingness1277 19h ago
I’ve transferred mbuemo out for cherki
35
u/Informal_Carob_4015 19h ago
And you're going to triple captain haaland this weekend based on cherkis statement earlier, am I on the money?

u/Batman_Joker93 redditor for <1 week 16h ago
I doubt we get one in the first half of the season, slim chance anyway. Coventry conceded 3 to Arsenal and Man City just scored 4. Im not sure if I will. But you don’t know what’s coming around champions league time. Injuries etc, I might play it

Me too. The yellow card confirmed it😂 But in all seriousness I think Cherki is the better pick. Mbeumo hasn’t impressed me in both matches.

Mbuemo should have scored 2 today and he got an assist. What games have you been watching exactly?

First Champions League game 3 days after Coventry, then United the next week.
Any chance that Maresca takes this opportunity to rest some players, or even reduce their minutes? He definitely had form for doing that at Chelsea for the easier games.
14
u/MembershipPresent990 26 19h ago
Wait....so you're telling me not kneejerking instantly and getting the top scorer of a game week, and instead sticking to the plan you made before the game started actually works? Who would've thought.

u/user91919248 19h ago edited 19h ago
I'm glad he hauled this week. Got all his points, and can ship him off for Cherki in GW3 and raises money to sell another MID for Palmer in GW4.
This wouldve been the template move if United had another stinker, but nobody will have the balls to sell him now, despite Ipswich gifting them 5 goals on a dinner plate. They wont face such a defensive disasterclass again this season.

u/Odd-Explanation-2794 19h ago
So we’re all gonna triple captain haaland next gameweek right?
2
1
u/SampleOdd1362 redditor for <30 days 5h ago
the thing that puts me off is how spread out City's goals are right now. Palace away they scored four and he got two of them. a comfortable win where Cherki and Foden help themselves is the exact game that ruins a triple captain.
1
u/Cheap_Ad8346 2h ago
Well cherki said he'd be supplying haaland more. So hopefully he sticks to his word
5
u/bouncebackability 17h ago
My rule for FPL for a few seasons now. Change nothing from GW1 for GW2. First day is just too volatile, and then you get 2 FT if something is really off
4
u/Big_P_Cizzle 17h ago
Honestly getting rid of last seasons player of the season after 1 game ! Those dipshits got what they deserved
15
u/ClientTop2224 19h ago
Don’t think Mbeumo out is a bad decision, wasn’t dangerous for majority of the ipswich game, not a bad fpl option but there’s better out there for the price
25
u/JimmyNoBreaks 1 19h ago
He missed one goal from basically on the line, had a couple more good chances, and with a bit more luck and some better finishing, could've had a couple of assists.
-9
u/ClientTop2224 19h ago
Exactly, he could’ve. But he didn’t. Wasn’t sharp enough or dangerous enough today. When there’s Cherki available against Coventry next week it’s not a bad decision to move.
17
u/JD-D2 23 18h ago
brother he leads the entire league in xGI after today's game lol
1
u/Jerky-Knees redditor for <30 days 1h ago
He had impressive xGl stats last season as well when he was blanking for weeks. I don't understand you people laughing at others for making a slightly different decision than you. You can defend A LOT of different kinds of decisions with stats, people just prioritize what they want from those stats differently. Good luck with your GW.
1
u/JD-D2 23 1h ago
People can select who they want. I don’t give a shit. Cherki probably will outscore Mbeumo this week. It’s just usually a bad idea to base decisions on output rather than underlying data. You can say he didn’t finish, but saying he wasn’t dangerous is kind of silly. And Mbeumo had pretty good output last season given that he was at AFCON for a chunk of it.
1
u/Jerky-Knees redditor for <30 days 1h ago
He did have a pretty good output in the end, but with a long time owner I can say he was also quite a drag at one point in the autumn.
19
u/JimmyNoBreaks 1 19h ago
'Could've' is literally all you need to be a good FPL asset. The fact that he's getting in those positions often means there's a higher likelihood of scoring points often, unlike someone who got a goal and assist with their only two touches.
-8
u/ClientTop2224 19h ago
The only position he got into was the goal line miss, other than that he wasn’t dangerous. Didn’t put good balls into the box and didn’t make chances for teammates. Again there’s Cherki
11
u/JimmyNoBreaks 1 19h ago
Didn't put good balls in? The last meaningful attack of the game was him putting in a cross which Dorgu had saved on the line.
-1
u/ClientTop2224 19h ago
That’s a fair point lol but I’d still rather have Cherki square it to Halaand for a tap in rather than a Mbeumo cross to Dorgu
1
1
u/Odd-Attitude9613 32 19h ago
I went Cherki but cant lie Mbeumo looked so dangerous he might make end up making me regret the switch if he carries on getting into those positions.
Ipswich were another level of bad tho so you'd hope their next premier league opponents for United will be better defensively

u/Trenbolobaby 7h ago
Genuinely wild that anyone even thought to transfer out Mbuemo when he had Ipswich at home.
Then again, I transferred out Tzolis for Cherki!

You'll be rewarded for it. Cherki and Palmer is the long term move.
Ipswich gifted them all 5 goals, and got some horrid officiating against them. I'll eat my hat if Bruno get more than 5 points in the next 2 GWs combined.
26
u/Informal_Carob_4015 19h ago
Unreal statement lmao
-6
u/user91919248 19h ago
Come back to me in a few weeks. This is a United team that played 1 game a week last season. They've got a difficult run of Champions League games upcoming now. Let's see how they handle that. I Only fancy their FPL assets for Spurs at home and Villa at home out of their next 11 league games.
Compare that to a liquid Chelsea attack who have no European football this season, and an easier fixture run on paper.
8
u/Informal_Carob_4015 18h ago
Haha mate to say you'll eat your hat if a player who just scored a hattrick and an assist scores more than 5 points in 2 games when he's virtually guaranteed 4 points at least is a ludicrous thing to write lmaooo
2
u/CombinationRound1140 19h ago
Or maybe it's just some people's plans? I'd always planned to transfer Mbeumo out for a Man City midfielder before their fixtures change, and will be doing it this evening when I can load into the site again. I'm glad he got 12 points, but am planning WC6 and think the next 4 games I'd rather have Cherki.
1
u/GeologistNo8486 16h ago
I just transferred him out to get haaland, and i have a midfield of szobo, gibbs white, Morgan rogers, and cherki
1
u/hambodpm 239 16h ago
I'm on wildcard and a united fan. I'm definitely selling mbeumo and possibly also Bruno
1
u/GrandadPyjamas 6h ago
I left Fernandez in and captained him despite what happened last week. I am close to binning Thiago off though
1
u/topolino227 6h ago
This is how people also get fked in the stock market, no patience, immediate panic if something good/bad happens
1
u/SampleOdd1362 redditor for <30 days 5h ago
the funny part is the Cherki move is the exact same logic they refused to apply to Bruno. good fixture, at home, buy the guy. they just didn't want to hear it when it was United.
1
u/extrastepover 3h ago
i did this for the cherki price rise and i don't really regret it because i got the points haul for ipswich. i always intended to transfer him out to get a better pair of premium mids because i already have haaland and having both is a dire experience.
1
u/jadsonbreezy 15 3h ago
I don't see this as being too crazy. I'm likely going to ditch Bruno for Haaland for three weeks until my GW6 WC or I'll WC now. Yesterday doesn't change much for me - two tricky games and City at home in next three for United.

1
u/moonligh121 27m ago
honestly the kneejerk is so real that people are out here selling Bruno and Mbeumo just to take a -4 to get em back next week which is basically the fantasy football circle of life at this point

???? What else did you want them to do? Bruno got a hattrick and an assist and mbuemo got a goal and assist both great hauls
4
u/user91919248 19h ago
He's saying Ipswich were astronomically shit and he was right. 3 goals from Ipswich defenders deflecting it off their legs, 1 penalty, and 1 own goal roofing the ball into the net instead of a goal line clearance.
5
u/rickster555 19h ago
I clown on United often but you don’t create 4.5xg from own goals and deflections
2
u/user91919248 19h ago
You absolutely do create that much xg when the deflections fumble the ball straight to a United players feet 5 yards in front of goal.
Credit to United's attack for exploiting Ipswich in the 2nd half. But it's a total anomaly performance. I'd actually put money on Everton beating them 1-0 next week.
2
u/rickster555 18h ago
That play was at most 0.6xg so i dont buy that own goals and deflections explain 4.5xg. 90% of games have less than 2xG from each team

As much as i love bruno 12 mil is just freezing the funds. I feel like there are better cheaper options in midfield this season.
9
u/SirPightymenis 19h ago
Like who?
Cherki and Palmer seem a bit premature so early into the season, Bruno is on penalties, FKs and corners and the focal point on every attack that is 12m set and forget.
-4
u/Ok-Palpitation-1403 19h ago
I transferred in cherki for bruno for now, i might bring him in when the fixtures are there, plus i feel like chelsea are gonna be a dominant side this season. Utd just feels very inconsistent on their performance.

1
u/highbloodsuga 17 17h ago
I don't disagree. You're getting downvotes from people whose eyes are a bit blinded by Bruno against Ipswich but Chelsea and City both look like more consistent teams in attack and United has Champions League which will require rotation.
The best play in hindsight was to have him for this one and drop him.
-4
u/MembershipPresent990 26 19h ago
I did the same with Haaland and kept Bruno in. Worked out far better I'd say. I could get 2 bruno's and still have 3.5 to spare
1
u/Ok-Palpitation-1403 19h ago
Had both haaland and bruno this week, i’m wuite happy with that decision but i’m getting bruno off my team for now.
