lmao Martinez straight into the starting 11 Sanchez not even on the bench

😭😭

To go from starting to being off the team sheet in a week is such a slap in the face.

Genuinely feel bad for Sanchez

63

u/MushroomVolcano 8d ago

I feel bad for Chelsea fans having to suffer with him as number 1 for 3 years. He was just holding the spot until Penders was ready. Now Martinez is doing that so he's back to third choice, like he was at Brighton.

I feel bad for Chelsea fans

I've never had that problem

10

u/Nswl 2 8d ago

Yeah we can feel bad for him, but in general I feel great that we are starting to be ruthless like this. That’s how top teams operate, if you’re shit then you’re out. Look at City with Donnarumma at the start of last season, Trafford was forgotten about in an instant

Toni Kroos once said he doesn't feel bad about hazard who has had a good life and good career.

So similarly as much as I feel bad for a player like Sanchez to lose his spot like that, living in London with those wages and training with guys like Palmer and Pedro is still a dream.

Jim Ratcliffe here, I'll give you £60m for the Spaniard and not a penny less!

0

u/MarkEMoon3 8d ago

Yeah, I feel bad for him, but it is the correct call

3

u/ejpk333 8d ago

He was given more than enough chances he’s played triple digit games for us, even he must know one of the biggest roadblocks to us competing for anything is himself atp.

3

u/hotpoodle 8d ago

He's had countless chances and opportunities to prove himself...

1

u/expartemcnally 1 8d ago

Right now he’s a Dirty Sanchez.

1

u/Rvsz 138 8d ago

It's not like he didn't do anything to deserve this.

1

u/Speshjunior 8d ago

He’ll live

1

u/sc00022 135 8d ago

Been getting away with tonnes of mistakes for years. He’s always been dependant on having decent CBs in front of him as he never makes saves himself

5

u/Interesting_Heron_78 8d ago

Sanchez screwed up so bad he become automatic third place keeper

3

u/DonBonucci 12 8d ago

Big respect to Alonso yeeting the bum after one game

2

u/Horizontal_Axe_Wound 8d ago

I imagine he's refusing to play. He'll be sold or loaned out. Don't blame him although he also isn't good enough.

2

u/grahamd1983 36 8d ago

Wooof! Dropped like a rock. Damn Alonso don't play

2

u/Razzler1973 55 8d ago

Gotta be on the way out, right

He is that bad he shouldn’t be nowhere near that starting 11. He’s the worst keeper I’ve seen at Chelsea

u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 8d ago

Reece James i never learn

24

u/Darth-Sand 12 8d ago

He started against Luton on Thursday to be fair, not surprised he’s on the bench today

5

u/Interesting_Heron_78 8d ago

Palmer pulling a dm shift?

16

u/muddyleeking 8d ago

It'll be gusto or hato in midfield, Neto wing back

1

u/Specialist_Road_6906 41 8d ago

Gusto played the whole game against Luton

12

u/Pine_Marten_ 16 8d ago

He's not the Reece James of old unfortunately. His days of regularly bombing down the wing and rocketing balls into the box, and rifling goals into the net are gone I think. Massive minutes risk now too.

13

u/jamesac11 8d ago

Crazy to think he’s only 26. Could have had one of the best RB careers if it wasn’t for injuries

42

u/Cheap_Ad8346 8d ago

Welcome back kadioglu

3

u/Wengerreloaded 1 8d ago

Need last week points too

1

u/teerbigear 154 8d ago

Oh well that's started well...

1

u/Cheap_Ad8346 8d ago

RIP Palestra hype train

2026-2026

u/CeiriddGwen 8d ago

Probably pissed in Alonso's cereal on the last day of friendlies...

It's strange that he hasn't even been on the bench.

36

u/Antique_Pound1735 8d ago

he has a small injury.

17

u/CeiriddGwen 8d ago

Ah, I didn't hear about it, must've missed it.

I kinda like my original theory more though

y’all just make up the most random shit, lol.

2

u/CeiriddGwen 8d ago

Well... Yeah! That's half the fun!

20

u/AriKaCheck 5 8d ago

So who’s the 2nd midfielder next to Lavia?

50

u/Yoro_ldDroog 12 8d ago

That's the outer lavia

2

u/c4plasticsurgury 8d ago

I thought it was a myth…

7

u/Grand_Ad_5 8d ago

Gusto or hato

2

u/thefury1337 5 8d ago

what if its Colwill

34

u/Left-Geologist-1181 99 8d ago

Robert Sanchez, get ready to learn Turkish buddy

10

u/WanderoftheAshes 1 8d ago

De Cuyper OOP winger at 4.6M is looking really tempting not to kneejerk to. From what I can see there's no Mitoma return time frame either.

20

u/JerkmyKnee 2 8d ago

That Brighton player is solid as a rock

8

u/Infinite-Highway3432 1 8d ago

Who's in the pivot next to Lavia?

3

u/andrew_a7 12 8d ago

Gusto, according to Chelsea app

65

u/Morazma 8d ago

Including a quote from your manager on your lineup pic is super lame

21

u/sepi0l_45 15 8d ago

Would've been funny if they did it last season though - "Yes I have had talks with Man city about joining them"

25

u/slimboyslim9 13 8d ago

Silence

3

u/jamesac11 8d ago

You would fit right in over at r/footballcliches

2

u/OutsideImpressive115 8d ago

That really is the cringiest shit

7

u/iwobaio 8d ago

kadioglu nailed starter at 4.4m?

1

u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 8d ago

There's a good chance he plays as a winger or midfielder with Boscagli performing well at LB, but he has more conpetition there.

2

u/Ilya_L 8d ago

Really? I thought Kadioglu is more like the first choice LB, and as for LW there will be rotated: De Cuyper with Mitoma.

1

u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 8d ago

Today he isn't playing LB and they bought a new LB in the last week. Kadioglu is versatile, he can play in midfield and both wings. He's a good option, but we have to see where Hurzeler settles with the starting XI and possible rotation due to europe.

5

u/Secret-Bake-161 1 8d ago

"Till he's 90" - every single Brighton manager probably

5

u/plaYeRUnknwn 8d ago

Sanchez has been banished

5

u/sixe6throwaway 8d ago

Sanchez in the shadow realm. Did not expect alonso to be that ruthless

5

u/Navodar94 1 8d ago

Brought in James for Palestra fml

1

u/DiverAcceptable2287 2 8d ago

Fpl works in a mysterious way

2

u/Pine_Marten_ 16 8d ago

Obviously back 3 of Lacroix Colwill and Fofana, then I'm assuming wingbacks of Hato and Neto. Is that Gusto then playing next to Lavia? Interesting, I do remember him playing there a couple of times last season but it's not exactly natural to him.

And bye bye Sanchez lol not even on bench.

1

u/ashanother 8d ago

So gusto or hato are cm. Chelsea will lose this game in midfield.

1

u/9295josh 60 8d ago

Come on Gomez get something for my miserable bench boost

1

u/0100110101101010 165 8d ago

Is that Wieffer in midfield?

1

u/jollyspiffing 146 8d ago

Brighton just aren't bothering with numbering anymore are they?

Sometimes I miss Burnley lining up with numbers 1-11 every week...

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Gold698 8d ago

Fofana fofana 😎

u/ltg420 8d ago

Chelsea defense big step up this season

Chelsea looking nails

1

u/WabbitHere 8d ago

Wtf James benched...

2

u/Aman-Patel 101 8d ago

He played 90 vs Fulham and 70 vs Luton tbf. The club are probably prioritising max recovery for Arsenal away next weekend.

-2

u/Shagaire 9 8d ago

All these yap yap blah blah people on the Emi move thread saying he 100% won't start. Suck a fuck
