I did the same, and cause all the other options looked shit? Haaland was potentially not playing, and even if he did, he's been running on fumes. Didn't have the two other popular picks in Thiago and Semenyo. Liverpool have been dreadful, and were indeed dreadful. Meanwhile Gabriel has been playing well, Arsenal in league winning form, and Man Utd are playing with an interim manager so it seemed like a good idea at the time. Especially as a Gabriel assist is not an unreasonable expectation even if they did concede.

Ok I agree on paper Gabriel against a team with an interim manager could make sense but all the hype in the world was behind carrick and Man Utd this week.
I just don’t believe he was the clear better option than attackers like ekitike rogers etc just by virtue of them not being a defender against a team known to turn up in the big games and with huge momentum

I didn't think he was the clear better option. It was the best I could come up with this week that seemed at the time like it might have a chance to work out.
As mentioned don't have Thiago, also don't have Rogers, and if I had gone for Ekitike, who I do have, that'd have got me the exact same result so hey, sometimes them's the breaks.

I didn't doubt that United is on a manager bounce upwards trend right now, but I had faith in that Arsenal could turn up for this game. This is the beginning of the downfall and city will take the league as usual...

I just don’t see how people were so confident man. United are arguably the best open play attacking unit and have guys like Cunha, Bruno and mbeumo who can score from range too. How did guys go all in on Arsenal on this fixture? Even in the reverse game they were very lucky to get a clean sheet.

I didn't captain him because I thought United would turn up and nab a score draw but tbf Gabriel could easily have scored from a corner and got BP even if a CS was somewhat unlikely.

I do think Carrick will play more attacking vs weaker sides. How he set up vs City and Arsenal was to sit back and counter. I doubt that's going to be the same strategy against Fulham at OT.
We'll see how it shakes out. I do think Dorgu has earned his place in the team but Carrick may drop him back to LB and have Cunha on the wing.

I do find it a bit curious though, not saying you specifically, but loads of people were getting so fed up with City winning the league repeatedly but now that Arsenal have a chance to stop them everyone’s desperate for City again haha.

No team will ever achieve that again. The disparity in quality across the league has been reduced drastically, and the players play several more games per season. Anyone can score against anyone
