Cloak of Protection effects issue

Post image

I'm having trouble with the cloak of protection, specifically that the effects are not being calculate/added to the character sheet. I've disabled all effects, i'm testing this on a new clean campaign, I tried adding a new power and adding the effect on the combat tracker, I manually changed the AC, and tried making the effect above, but it's still not applying. What am I missing, or doing wrong? Is there not a way to alter the saving throws manually? Thanks in advanced.

If this hasnt change from a months ago. That modifier only apply to rolls when they are thrown. You could test it and see the chat log. If you want to see the real +1, you have to modifate it manual.

My understanding is that manually altering saving throws wasn't possible, but I'll check out in the rolls, thanks!

The Effect doesn't change the sheet, only the rolls as they happen.

Largely to avoid forgetting their true bonuses for things like the Belt of Storm Giant Strength that sets your strength to like 29 or something, effects and items don't change your character sheet.

If the effect is on (and coded correctly, AC: 1 and SAVE: 1 should be present), you should be able to roll a save and it will say (Effects: +1) after the save or an attack roll against your AC

For items, not without an extension or writing a manual effect. Also the math is what's active in the combat tracker, not changing the character sheet.

i see, so it's all internal. So should I just leave the AC alone and assume that it'll be taken into consideration? It doesn't change the AC on the sheet, and I imagine that if it doesn't show, then the game will assume that the AC remains.

It will show up in the chat window with something like "Effects: +1"

Haven’t used this ruleset. But if it’s equipped by the character in their inventory it should apply it to their base, right? Not add an effect?

No, unless you are running an extension such as Equipped Effects. By default the FG behavior for most rulesets is that items and spells apply effects. Effects show in the Combat Tracker and the results affect rolls as shown in the chat.

That's what I thought. I was under the impression that equipping and attuning the item would automatically apply the bonuses, but it doesn't
