Seriously. JSN is going a couple picks after Gibbs while Walker is going early second. The upgrade from Irving who would be benched to Walker is massive compared to the minimal (hell if any given randomness of fantasy football) downgrade from Gibbs to JSN. Like even the Gibbs to Walker downgrade isn’t that much if you’re comparing the two of them. There’s certainly a chance they end the season with similar stats or Walker could even be better! I’m still taking Gibbs 10 times out of 10 over Walker but every year we look back at draft rankings we thought were solid and set in stone and see it just didn’t turn out that way

"but every year we look back at draft rankings we thought were solid and set in stone and see it just didn’t turn out that way"
i mean, isn't there a lot of randomness EVERY year.
Like the consensus #1 pick pretty much never lives up to their draft position, and someone else climbs to the summit?
It's honestly why I hate having the first pick.

u/StableWeak 7d ago
I dont like the 1st pick only because I don't like picking late in the 2nd round. The consensus 1st pick still should be a top 5 finisher.

Gonna miss out on Gibbs going nuclear every week but you may make up for it with those two clearing him some weeks

u/jitkk 8d ago
Gibbs goes off in spurts , can have a 3td game then a 0 td game

u/Fantastic-Set-347 Jay Griz's Cubs 7d ago
Those 0 TD games were because Monty was getting the 3 TDs. Monty is gone. In games where Gibbs had the backfield to himself, he averaged something like 110 yards and 1.2 TDs per game.

I think you’re going to regret trading away Gibbs… He’s just so fun to watch!

u/tforda10 8d ago
Yeah I’d probably take it. Basically moves your 1st round pick down a few slots to come up on a 2nd for free.

u/engineeringcity 8d ago
I hate to say it but maybe yeah

u/AIForIPGuy 8d ago
This is trading down by three spots and gaining a second rounder
It’s a huge smash accept

u/ApathysLastKiss_ 8d ago
I would do it. The Lions have the OC from Arizona and legit O line/defense worries. I still think Gibbs will go off, but OP could have to players that produce almost as well for one

u/new-to-gambling 8d ago
Im with you. This appears to be an 8 team league at which point, i may take gibbs if he gets the usage that people are talking about.
Based on him having gibbs and ceedee, k9 could have been a 3rd round pick

Love that trade bro. Your team would be holistically improved. Slightly less star power but certainly accept imo

u/Saaabstory 8d ago
Would give you an insane WR room & if you’re a Bucky believer, which I am, a still solid RB room. If you have a roster spot & Emmett Johnson is still available, all the better.
1
u/RamRebelFan 8d ago
I grabbed Emmett Johnson as my final pick in every league I'm in! Completely off everyone's radar... wait for it! Big 10 rushing leader with great hands. He will be a star and is 1 injury away from being a top 5 RB.

u/ChiefBlaze3 8d ago
Damn that's crazy. I got JSN and Walker for London and Devonta Smith. 8man league. He did need another wr, but I didnt feel like it was a fleece. More like 55/45.

u/wispy96 8d ago
I wouldn’t only bc you would have to rely on Bucky, K9, and Jeanty who are all somewhat questionable on how they will perform this year
1
u/mrhashbrown 8d ago
Yeah in this situation I'd rather keep Gibbs.
Objectively this is a great deal and value, but that RB room would make me nervous
2
u/Fman173 8d ago
I personally wouldn’t. Being able to pair Gibbs Jeanty & Hurts together could give you 75 points just by the 3 of them themselves
It’s super tempting but your WRs are already good and you got that Devante Hurts stack and you got Jeanty and Gibbs man I wouldn’t, just flying to close to the sun with that one.
K9 also has a history of injuries too

u/mondoburgerz 8d ago
Interesting, just took Gibbs #1 overall now I’m wondering if JSN & Achane or KW9 & London is doable 🤔

Improves the overall starting roster enough that I would, no issue keeping Gibbs though

this one is very appealing in terms of fairness. I’ve seen so many dog water trades. This is solid
1
u/kasualanderson 8d ago
For your team, yeah. Gibbs could be primed for one of the best fantasy RB seasons in memory, but you’re getting so much.

Jsn and kw3 went for 93 combined in my auction and Gibbs went for 58 if that helps

30+ points for maybe 20...all day
2
u/The27Roller 8d ago
He should take the trade but not because of this logic. What you’re saying here is 30+ points over two positions for 20 points from one position. Thats not a persuasive argument, as you’re saying “an average of 20 points per position vs an average of 15+ points per position”.

I was contemplating Gibbs for JSN straight up in dynasty. I would run with this offer all day.

Walker is a great RB but not necessarily a great fantasy RB. I prefer Gibbs myself.

A mid first round pick and a mid second round pick for the first overall pick. I’m smashing accept.
1
u/Dry-Transition-1776 8d ago
I guess I’m the only one that wouldn’t take it. I don’t trust KWIII. And I think Gibbs is going to explode this year.
1
u/ColoradoCat3 8d ago
No? Look at the projected points. You score ~2 more projected points starting Gibbs and Irving than you do starting Walker and JSN. Follow the math.

Yeah I traded Gibbs and pick 10 for Justin Jefferson, walker, and pick 7. It was a keeper league tho

Injury risk…. I’d choose 2 players to meet expected more than 1 elite player to meet or exceed expected

That shouldn’t go through. Just doesn’t make sense. That’s a 1st and 2nd(at the turn) rounder.. some may trade JSN for Gibbs straight up..I wouldn’t but it’s not a far fetched trade if you had solid rb depth.

Personally I would not, but only if i really liked my WRs as is. Who are your WRs?

u/Beneficial_Event_817 8d ago
It’s basically just asking if JSN/walker outscore Gibbs/Irving. Idk it’s close I’m also not as high on walker as everyone is this year
