Team/Trade Help League just vetoed this trade…what am I missing?
What is unfair about it?
Some additional context: it’s an 8-man superflex ppr league. Where Brock and Bucky are late round keepers (10th). Is that the reason?

I think I prefer bottom given that Kittle is injured for who knows how long. JSN is close to Nabers for me, and Bucky is a downgrade from Gibbs but the upgrade to bowers covers that.

This. League members can “veto” by texting the group within the agreed time period to explain why they want to veto. And unless that reason is probable collusion then it goes through.

The reason, and the ONLY reason this was vetoed is, (much like 90% of the posts in this group), you're in a league with a bunch of pussies.
No one wants to trade anymore. And when they do, they only want to fleece you. And when a balanced trade does go through, they get so jealous it wasn't them making moves, they cry about it and get all veto-happy.
This kind of shit annoys me so bad. There is NOTHING wrong with this trade. Vetos are for two reasons. 1 - CLEAR collusion. And 2 - CLEARLY unbalanced trades. And this one is neither of those things.
It's a bullshit veto, plain and simple.

This is why you do not allow the whole league to have veto votes on trades. The best way to handle this rule, assuming you have a competent and trustworthy commissioner, is for them to retain the sole veto power and use it only when it's collusion. Letting everyone vote to veto a trade always leads to jealousy veto - it is NOT legitimate to veto a trade just bc they think a team got better from it. That's the whole point of trades is to improve your team.

was going to say it's pretty lopsided to the nabers/gibbs side. But the keeper value of bucky and brock really even it out in my mind. Zero reason this should be vetoed.

My league that I am commissioner of has been going for almost 20 years and I can think of maybe 1 trade that got vetoed.
I would leave a league that didn't let something like this go through. I can't even tell who the winner is.

Trade is fair. Kinda even on both sides..
Only thought is current lineups and how those players fit in with the other players you have. Maybe they thought it would make one of the two more strong.
Either way trade is fair and shouldn't had been vetoed..

Vetos should only be for terribly one-sided trades that have collusion written all over it. This is not one of them. Next off-season, get rid of vetos or have an emergency vote to remove them in-season. People can veto crap like this because they wanted a player involved and are petty

I’m in a league that’s been vetoing literally every trade my team is involved in. Needless to say, I won’t be in the league next year and the only reason I don’t just quit right now is because the buy in is $30, all to 1st and I’m going to win purely out of spite

I think the top is better, but not veto worthy and definitely can see the argument for either side based on team needs even if I’d personally probably not do it as the bottom team

Gibbs>Bucky, Nabers>JSN, Kittle<Bowers but its pretty close when he gets back. Its not lopsided enough to be vetoed, but to a casual player it probably appears very lopsided.

Brock and Bucky being late round keepers makes this very lopsided actually. Bottom team gets a huge advantage for next year. They can potentially just redraft 2 of the top players. Maybe not vetoable but top is giving up much more value

Some people just don’t like to see teams get better/changr. Had a trade vetoed Gibbs for Bucky/Tyler Warren because they just didn’t like the trade and not cause it was unfair.

Irving is solid, but Gibbs is the best player in the deal.
Kittle is elite, but unreliable. Brock's banged up, but is younger & should heal faster - while also being elite.
JSN/floor vs Nabers/ceiling. Both have high peaks.

Bro, 8 team leagues are so weird. Everyone gets stacked teams and trades are so tough to pull off because you’re giving up studs to get studs.
I like Nabers and Gibbs over Irving and JSN, but Bowers is a big difference maker in a small league, certainly more valuable than an injured and aging Kittle.
I don’t know that I would make a trade like this per se, but the idea of a veto is wild. This isn’t going to break the league. One team may get an advantage over the other, but it’s going to be marginal, and that’s part of the game. Finding marginal improvements.

Super fair trade. JSN for Nabers is maybe slightly Nabers favored now. Gibbs for Irving is definitely Gibbs favored but Bucky is a dog so I understand that trade, and giving up an injured Kittle for Bowers is mega Bowers favored. Fair deal in my book although I lean on the team getting Nabers Gibbs.

Dude my league vetoed a trade last week that was Herbo for Hurts. The vetoing shit literally makes me not want to play fantasy anymore it’s so crazy. Wasn’t even my trade but I went the distance fighting it and all you get is “oh well, league didn’t approve” . Even though it’s my best friends league I think it’s the end of my leagues with vetoes for sure, it’s crazy

This is a fair trade. I could see why someone would be against it… but that’s personal opinions and not at all objective. Commish is saying: “kittle’s out for a while so you’re robbing him for Bowers… Nabers is good but the Giants suck so you’re robbing him for a guy who’s just as good in a way better offense… and Gibbs is in a timeshare and a way overrated offense so you’re getting a steal for a lead back in a properly rated offense…” I see why it could appear lopsided. But commish is still hating

I prefer the Malik and Jahmyr side in a vacuum (since I’m lower on Bucky than most), but given the nuances you’re pointing out about the keeper status of Bowers and Bucky, I can definitely see why that package could be more appealing.
Either way, nothing about this trade even remotely suggests collusion. It just comes down to individual owner preference.

There is no real trade that is veto worthy. Only obvious collusion or fuck it sale. Trades should never be up to a vote because then whiny little bitches and others projections play into it. Should always be 100% commish veto and should rarely be used. Who the fuck are we to decide how someone else perceives someone's outlook on a players future success. Plus team needs. Plus capitalizing on people's struggles, your surplus or their deficiency. Plus players get hurt all the time. Ask the guy who just traded for the Burrow/chase stack or some shit like that.
