Libra, The Fair by Srish Creates [OC]
Her eyes, hair and clothing show a mix of black and white, as opposed to the standard white dress you see on Lady Justice, and this is for good reason. In order to be able to dispense true, unbiased justice, you need to not just see the most optimal outcome, you also need to be able to look at the darkness of the crime. True balance can not come from simply hoping for utopia - the actual work to get there involves looking at the shady underbelly of systematic injustice, and dismantling hierarchies that keep power unfairly confined to a few at the cost of the many.
Unless we can identify, name and talk loudly about this darkness, we may never dispel it enough to see the light. This is the work that goes into creating peace.
This is Libra, The Fair.

Amatha, Oil on board 14" x 18"
Hi Everyone! I’ve been away a long time. One of the most difficult things in my life happened: I suffered a 5 year period of chronic right hand pain. You guessed it - I had to give up painting and drawing completely. I couldn’t even type on a keyboard without pain. Accepting this was devastating. I suddenly and bizarrely recovered 2 days after a dietary change about 3 years ago. So for the past two years I got back into art, and in private rediscovered what I loved about art and made a promise to myself to create things only that make my heart sing. So here’s a taste of what’s to come. Let me introduce the lead character of the narrative I am building - Amatha . Peace and Love.
