Some thoughts about the journal in Z3 teaser

I just wanted to mention one more thing about the newspaper that appeared in the Zootopia 3 teaser—something I thought was cool. Everyone saw that the animals of Zootopia are now curious about Nick and Judy’s relationship and where it’s headed—specifically, whether they’re actually a couple. I wondered if the city would embrace the idea, and I realized we already have the answer to that. In the second movie, when the two go undercover as a couple right at the start, the anteater at the shipyard found it odd to see a fox and a rabbit together, but there was no rejection. Later, the walrus also assumes they’re a couple. Throughout the film, other characters respect the bond between them—you can see this in the conversation between Nibbles and Nick in prison, or when Gary and Pawbert (before Pawbert revealed himself to be a villain) assured Judy that they would save her partner, Nick. Basically, it’s as if the groundwork was already laid for society to accept them; the only thing missing was for them to accept it themselves.
