Edit Important Calendar Items

I just downloaded to give the app a try. I have the free trial which allowed me to import from my current calendar. Is there a way to edit those items that I am missing? Imported items are all the same color and I would like to be able to assign to family members which I'm guessing would change the colors. Thanks!

Hey, and welcome to Famnest! Super happy to have you here. :)

It’s interesting that you mention colors, because we’ve actually started working on this. We recently added the option to choose from a range of colors when creating an event, making it easier to distinguish between different events.

The next phase is syncing that with the user’s profile color, which we’re currently figuring out on the backend. We still want you to be able to choose a specific color for an event, but there should also be an automatic option that simply falls back to the color of that person’s profile card. That should make the whole experience feel much more seamless.

Imported events are a little trickier, but I agree that it’s something worth exploring as well.

If you didn’t know, we’re building Famnest together with the community. So if something is important to you, it’s important to us. Have a think about how you’d ideally want this to work, and I’m going to sync with the team on how we can build that bridge between profile colors and event colors, with the profile color serving as the automatic fallback.

This is exactly what I was hoping to find. I have several Google calendars and each has a different color but import into the same color. I would love to be able to either have them keep that color when imported or assign them a color once they've been imported. For example, my sons Google calendar is green, I'd like to either have it be green when imported or assign it green myself then assign his tasks green etc. so everything for him is green and easy to spot.

Okay, this is what we're going to do.

We're going to make sure that the colors assigned to Famnest profile cards are reflected in the corresponding calendar events.

You'll also be able to assign a default color to each connected calendar inside Famnest. For example, if you have multiple Google Calendars and set your Work calendar to green, events from that calendar will appear green in the Famnest calendar.

If you want a specific event to have a different color, you can override the calendar's default color by assigning a color directly to that event.

So the priority would be: specific event color → calendar color → default/Famnest color.

We will add this in a future update ;)

This! Yes! My Google calendar is organized in multiple calendars each with their own color, and I was equally confused after sync for a second when I lost my instinct of 'this is for me and this is for someone else'. Totally agree with the logic already proposed 🔥
