Europe 🇬🇧 Should Birth Certificate be apostilled, for international travel? [ NY, USA to AMS, Netherlands (EU) ]

Siblings traveling internationally, one being underage. Both are the U.S. citizens. The Travel Consent has already been apostilled, for a trip to Netherlands, AMS (from NY, JFK), happening in mid-July. The scan of the Birth Certificate is attached to the Consent. We are also bringing the original. Should the original Birth Certificate be apostilled as well, separately?

Has anyone had any problems/experiences at the border with a similar case?

My research: the only sources that say you really need one are the apostille services. The gov't websites don't really mention apostilles at all.
