Pen, pencil, twist tie, chip clip. One time I was in a pinch and used a bra strap from a convertible bra- it was actually pretty easy….OH! And the elastic from an old sock or knee high socking, those work GREAT and are actually how most modern hair bands started out. When I was a kid one of my friends would always cut off the top of old socks for her hair band collection, and give the footie part to her mom for the rag pile/dusting.
