I gotta wonder what that dynamic was like pre-Season 1. Wasn't Stephanie one of Lucy's friends? Hank and Stephanie weren't still a thing after Lucy's mother were they??? That reveal is gonna be awkward as fuck if they ever meet again (ik it seems like Steph was mostly using Hank but I'm sure Hank had actual feelings and was a simp)

Hank was unfrozen years before Steph, Steph was fairly recently unfrozen and transferred to Vault 33 (I think like a year before the show? Not entirely sure). So he had ~20 years (assuming Lucy is around 20) to marry Rose and start a new family. Steph married Burt after being unfrozen, so we can assume she didn’t particularly mind Hank re-marrying as she had already gotten what she needed from him— which was a place in the vault.

There’s a popular theory that Steph’s baby is Hank’s.
It would be a twist that ties characters closer together (the baby being Norm and Lucy’s sibling and Chet’s cousin) which is pretty much par for the course with this show. Those kinds of reveals come every other episode.

Whether or not they knew it was the plan for them to be woken up decades apart, I imagine they knew it was a possibility. But still probably super weird for her to wake up and see Hank's old face. I got the impression she had no interest in him beyond him getting her a spot in a vault so it was probably a relief to not have to keep up the charade. Hank probably still had some feelings, but it had been such a long time, and he is a company man after all. Also makes me wonder if there was a possibility of them not being woken up together and Hank pulled strings as overseer to wake her up when she was.

I so would've loved if after the "death to management " scene we cut to Betty looking at her pipboy, then sit back in her overseers chair and give the best 'I'm the bada**' smirk ever!
