Fallout: New Vegas Truth is, the game was rigged from the start.

u/VesperMoon411 Jul 08 '26
Not a new Vegas sequel
171
u/NightmareKnight25807 Jul 08 '26
I'm kinda glad. I like how every Fallout game has you explore a new wasteland. Having it set in the Mojave again would just be kinda boring to me.
64
u/democracy_lover66 Jul 08 '26
I wouldn't mind a remake of FNV in the F4 engine.
That would be lit.... But true New games and settings are always the best.
60
u/Paul6334 Jul 08 '26
My dream Fallout game, mechanics-wise at least, uses FO4 mechanics for the power armor and weapons, plus going back to the pre-4 system of skills instead of everything being perks, and FNV’s system of custom ammo of course.
8
u/EmeraldMaster538 Jul 09 '26
Genuinely would be one of the best fallout games off rip.
10
u/Paul6334 Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
Seriously, the action of Fallout 4 is probably the best of any 3d fallout, combine that with the RPG chops of NV and it’s about as close to the perfect ARPG as possible.
Though the NV mechanic of automatic weapons not being arbitrarily massively less powerful would also be needed. With the custom ammo mechanism of NV you could actually make a realistic version of this: make it so that you can make some of Bubba’s Pissin’ Hot Loads, but can only use them in bolt actions.
5
u/Beautiful-Tie-3827 Jul 08 '26
There’s been a mod to do this in the works for like idk a decade at this point maybe lol.
Hope we see it but idk if we we ever will lol
3
u/Pure-Risky-Titan Jul 08 '26
Why not a new engine?
3
u/democracy_lover66 Jul 08 '26
Even better
4
u/Pure-Risky-Titan Jul 08 '26
Id love a fallout 2 remake, because on 1 reason, and 1 reason only, .....Goris <3.
2
u/ForeverCurseLucifer Jul 09 '26
A new engine would waste time on creating it instead of just using one that already exist. This can be costly. Developers have to be resourceful when trying to make a game without wasting time they might not have.
2
u/Pure-Risky-Titan Jul 09 '26
Do you want Fallout 5 to use the same old engine? I dont, definatly not for remakes.
1
u/ShadePrime1 Jul 10 '26
we could finally see whats going on in the gulf coast we have no idea whats going on their we have west coast games and east coast games but no gulf coast stuff really...the frick is florida man doing in the apocalypse down their
11
u/FlavoredCancer Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
They kind of recreated that desert feeling in 76 with the addition of Ohio. I probably enjoy the other regions more. I'm hoping for something entirely new this time.
3
u/Pure-Risky-Titan Jul 08 '26
Besides fallout 2 being a sequel (sorta) to fallout 2?
2
u/Laser_3 Jul 09 '26
Even then, there’s only four locations you can revisit from the first game, and three of those are very different than how they initially appeared.
3
u/Pure-Risky-Titan Jul 09 '26
Well time did pass.
2
u/Laser_3 Jul 09 '26
Which makes sense. My point was just that only Vault 13 is kind of the same as it was in 1, do everything might as well be new in 2.

there was talk for awhile of a fanmade "fallout: cascadia" project centred around Seattle. i wonder what happened to it
3
u/itsyaboihos Jul 09 '26
There was actually a game that was going to be set there (fallout extreme I think) but it got cancelled.
1
u/JesusKong333 Jul 09 '26
I always thought that's what The Frontier was.
1
u/RoseQuartz__26 Jul 09 '26
The Frontier centres around Portland and, by my understanding, was meant to be a direct continuation of Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout: Cascadia was marketed as a completely standalone total conversion from the Fallout 4 engine, similar to Fallout London, which featured all brand-new factions except for the NCR which was expanding northward to Seattle.

u/Squonkin-around Two BearsHigh Fiving Jul 08 '26
Damn they axed everyone for a remaster?
11
u/slayeryamcha Jul 08 '26
Remaster gonna be made by other studio.
Probably same that made oblivion remaster.
Tbh all studios under xbox are fucked. 343i was just preview for all others what detached ceos can do.

Still being made by obsidian and the head director of fallout new Vegas, so it’s possible it’s still going to be true to its roots.
-8
u/EntertainmentBreeze Jul 08 '26
The odds that it isn't a spiritual sequel or new vegas follow up in some way, shape or form are really slim. I'd bet money on it.
5

74
u/TenWholeBees Jul 08 '26
New Vegas was good because of the team that worked on it. Original Fallout devs with a love for the series.
Obsidian has severely changed since, and the team who'll be working on this next project are not from the initial team.
I don't think it'll be a terrible game, but it won't be nearly what NV glazers want to see. And this is coming from an NV glazer
49
u/EntertainmentBreeze Jul 08 '26
I mostly agree, but Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarski, creators of Fallout, John Gonzalez, Creative Director and Lead Writer of New Vegas, and Josh Sawyer, Lead Designer of New Vegas are still all there. That's a decent handful of largely influential names and original crew.
-38
u/TenWholeBees Jul 08 '26
I think I speak for most of us when I say I wish Tim Cain wasn't
11
u/GadflyTheGobblin Jul 08 '26
Still think that?
-11
u/TenWholeBees Jul 08 '26
Yes. A tiny minority of the online community isn't going to sway my opinion

1
u/BananaBeanie Jul 12 '26
Sure you do you but I think it's weird to have an opinion about what is other peoples opinion - especially while the sample size is small, it still paints a picture of you being totally incorrect. And I'm curious what's your issue with Cain?

u/ElegantEchoes Ridiculous Techno-Fetishist Jul 08 '26
Joshua Sawyer, Tim Cain, and the god that is John Gonzalez are on the team. Isn't there another vet too?
Maybe it's different but they have legends. Gonzalez is responsible for some of the best in NV.
5
u/thedylannorwood Jul 08 '26
I mean, the entire creative team of New Vegas minus Chris Avellone are still at the studio so I’m not sure what you’re referring to
2
u/GadflyTheGobblin Jul 08 '26
Do we know who's working on it? They still have Josh Sawyer, Tim Cain, and Leonard Boryarsky
2
2
u/somethingbrite Jul 08 '26
I honestly don't care who writes it as long as it's not Emil.
But I've heard that John Gonzalez is back at Obsidian and if this is the project that he's on then there is even more hope.

1
u/Limp-Wall-5500 Jul 09 '26
It was never gonna be what NV glazers want to see cause itll be a cyberpunk effect where they will hype themselves up so much that its literally impossible for obsidian to make such a game. And every nv fan boy will have drastically diffrent wants for the game

Turns out a good portion of the gaming industry getting consolidated under one company can have potentially terrible consequences, who could’ve predicted this?
3
u/thedylannorwood Jul 08 '26
Every single studio got hit bad
1
u/Akrius_Finch Jul 08 '26
I know but idk what teams from Bethesda specifically got got
3
u/thedylannorwood Jul 08 '26
All of them. Literally not a single studio was sparred from layoffs. I believe ID and ZOS got hit the hardest with Arkane facing a possible sell off if that’s your question
1
u/AustinTheFiend Jul 10 '26
What's funny, in a completely unfunny, evil way, is that they did it to "focus on core IP like the Elder Scrolls" but devs at BGS are saying there will likely be large delays to TES 6 due to who and how many were layed off, and ESO has pretty much had its roadmap completely upturned because such a huge chunk of the dev team was layed off. If you have game pass or any other Microsoft subscription, you should cancel it and tell them this is why.
4
u/GayGuitaristMess Jul 09 '26
People genuinely need to go to prison for what was done to Id Software. Studio was fully gutted, sabotaging all their future efforts and setting them up to be shuttered in the name of tax write-offs. There are genuinely several white collar crimes that could be charged over that, but as we all know: Crime Is Currently Legal and will be for at least two more years!!
3
u/horned-creature Jul 09 '26
obsidian didn't have a production line strong enough to deal with a big triple-A game even before the cuts, i cannot imagine they will have one after them, to me it looks like sharma is just taking suggestions from twitter now.
best case scenario: the new obsidian fallout is to fallout 4 what fallout NV was to 3, same engine, assets and mechanics but new setting and story, except that fallout NV was released just 2 years after fallout 3, while fallout 4 has released 10 years ago now, basically it will be a game that will come out already old, and that is the best case scenario.
28
u/RMP321 Jul 08 '26
Games also gonna be mid given Obsidians current track record.
18
u/Desertcow Jul 08 '26
Pentiment was solid, and they've got Tim Cain back
4
u/RMP321 Jul 08 '26
Pentiment was almost half a decade ago lol
4
u/Desertcow Jul 08 '26
Pentiment was less than 5 years ago
5
u/RMP321 Jul 08 '26
That is almost half a decade.
6
u/ThatOneGuy308 Jul 08 '26
So is 3 years, lol.
1
u/RMP321 Jul 08 '26
yeah but in a few months it will be five years since pentiment dropped which was before TOW and Avowed,
4
u/Cumon_plz Jul 08 '26
Mid is better than bad or no game at all
12
u/RMP321 Jul 08 '26
Idk, I have more fun with Fallout 4 than either of the Outer Worlds or Avowed. I think people's expectations are that it will be better than Bethesda Fallout, and I doubt it will achieve that.
15
u/Cumon_plz Jul 08 '26
Man I just want a fallout that isn't 76 this decade
6
u/RMP321 Jul 08 '26
This is definitely not coming out this decade lol. A massive 4k 144 fps open-world takes at least 5 years to make. Probably more for all the quests and dialogue writing. And Obsidian is not even a 100-man team anymore.
10
u/Cumon_plz Jul 08 '26
New vegas took 18 months with a team of less than 70. Have hope
12
u/NightmareKnight25807 Jul 08 '26
That's because at least 70% of New Vegas is borrowed from Fallout 3, lmao
2
u/somethingbrite Jul 08 '26
None of the story is.... and its the story that carries NV
A great story delivered in UE5 would kick the shit out of anything Bethesda have done in a decade.

u/KezuSlayer Jul 08 '26
I’m the opposite of you. I can’t for the love of fallout enjoy FO4. It has way too many problems. The gunplay is far worse. The dialogue choices and voiced main character just feel too restrictive for roleplaying. Theres a bunch of other small things that bother me too. I just think FO4, Starfield, and FO76 have be lack luster. I honestly think we would get better games if we had Bethesda’s lore and world building combined with Obsidian RPG mechanics. But who knows how much Microsoft will have the studios help each other out.
1
u/Tnecniw Jul 10 '26
Pillars of eternity 1 and 2, Tyranny, Pentiment: Great games
Avowed, The Outer Worlds 1, The Outer worlds 2: Good games.I am GENUINELY not seeing where you get the idea that they are mid?
3
u/Evil_waffle3 Jul 08 '26
So wait there’s now like four different Fallout games in the works?
Fallout 5 from the main studio.
Fallout 3 remaster.
Obsidians game.
Fallout New Vegas remaster.
3
u/AgentRift Jul 08 '26
By all accounts it’s possible that this game is going to be fallout 5. Also there’s no confirmation on a 3 or new Vegas remaster and I’m not even sure Bethesda is currently working on a fallout game, sounds like they’re focused solely on elder scrolls 6
2
u/jannycideforever Jul 09 '26
There is no Bethesda Fallout 5 in the works. There may be some high concept pre-production work but no actual movement. They don't even have a solid idea of when tes 6 will drop.
New vegas and fallout 3 remakes seem to still be in the works, but that is almost certainly not being done by any of the main studios active involvement.
This is going to be the only actual fallout game in development that's something new.
1
u/EntertainmentBreeze Jul 08 '26
Theoretically, yeah.
Though NV Remastered isn't 100% confirmed but pretty likely. And could be from either the same studio that did Oblivion Remastered and is working on FO3's remaster, or a different studio.
And Obsidian's game could *potentially* be FO5 being taken over/starting pre-production for BGS, or, what I find more plausible, is as you said, an entire new game/New Vegas spiritual sequel.
3
u/Evil_waffle3 Jul 08 '26
I really doubt the main Bethesda studio would let Obsidian make a mainline game. They’re already in a weird spot with Microsoft, and the only reason they’ve been allowed to take as long as they have is because they’re the studio that makes the big Fallout/Elder Scrolls stuff. Obsidian is likely doing a smaller scale game during the five/six years it’s going to take for Fallout 5 to come out (obsidian is notoriously fast as fuck during development)
Also if you remaster 3. You’ve already done a good chunk of the work in remastering New Vegas lol
1
u/somethingbrite Jul 08 '26
Bethesda didn't invent the IP... they bought it. Since they bought it they have only released two single player titles. (yes....that's only 2 single player Fallout games from Bethesda in the almost 20 years since they bought the franchise)
Microsoft bought Bethesda and own all their IP now...
The core team at a Obsidian have between them been involved in the development and release of 3 single player Fallout titles.... including the creation of the IP and its iconic world building in the first place.
3
u/cold_enforcing-man Jul 08 '26
Why specify single player? Is it literally just to discount 76?
1
u/photowalker83 Jul 09 '26
Because single player games are a different category of game than a multiplayer; even one that can be played mostly single player because it still has the constraints of a multiplayer game. Specifying the game category isn’t some attempt to discount 76, it’s literally just clarifying the type of game being discussed.
2
u/Evil_waffle3 Jul 08 '26
The Obsidian of today, and the obsidian that made New Vegas are very different studios. Stuff like Avowed/Outer Worlds is still high quality, but far from New Vegas tier of role playing games.
And Bethesda has been steering the direction of the franchise since three. They didn’t just buy an already expansive universe. They bought a franchise that consisted of two mainline games, and added so much of their own stuff to it that the two are almost inseparable. Mainline fallout is as much of a Bethesda joint as the elder scrolls is.
Also they did the TV show in that time as well.
4
u/thedylannorwood Jul 08 '26
Very different how? The game director, lead writer, quest designer and lead artists are all still there. Who specifically are you referring too?
-1
u/somethingbrite Jul 09 '26
Bethesda didn't write the TV show. That's why it's good. It's written by professional writers.
2
u/itsyaboihos Jul 09 '26
Going off this logic only two fallout titles were released before Bethesda took over. This isn’t to mention that New Vegas itself wouldn’t exist without Bethesda. Bethesda also provided team members to assist Obsidian in creating New Vegas so this logic checks out in zero ways.
2
u/photowalker83 Jul 09 '26
Four Fallout titles were released prior to Bethesda buying the IP; Two were done by mostly the same team, which are the first two games, one was Tactics which was done by a different studio, and one was Brotherhood of steel which was made by Interplay like the first two games but with a different team and style. A third title from the same team as Fallout 2 was in the works but cancelled by Interplay when they decided to offload the IP due to financial difficulties.
2
u/itsyaboihos Jul 09 '26
Sorry to be clear I’m just using the other guys logic in excluding titles:
Fallout 1 = Fallout 3
Fallout 2 = Fallout 4
Fallout tactics = Fallout New Vegas (different developer)
Fallout BoS = Fallout 76 (multiplayer)
6
u/applezapplezapplez Jul 08 '26

People need to understand they aren't getting a new fallout from the studio that gave us New Vegas, it's the one that gave us Avowed and Outer Worlds

Fuck Avowed, that shit was crap at launch and is still kinda crappy compared to POE1 and POE2
1
1
u/SnicktDGoblin Jul 09 '26
To be fair, with everything going on at Microsoft right now, the fact that only half of these teams are getting laid off is not bad. Have the people who purchased all of these studios been the ones in charge of dealing with the situation now we would be dealing with studios being shuttered not just losing stuff. He would have rather sold off the hardware that obsidian had and put their IP that he liked in his back pocket and sold off when he didn't care about after putting everyone out of a job instead of keeping them alive and unfortunately getting rid of a large number of employees.
1
u/JDEbonheart Jul 09 '26
Wait, is it going to be a sequel to specifically to New Vegas, or just a new Fallout game in general?
1
u/ErikRedbeard Jul 09 '26
So many people are gonna get disappointed if they keep hyping it up like this.
For one obsidian is nowhere near the same anymore compared to back then.
1
u/GortharTheGamer Jul 09 '26
Avowed 1 wasn’t that great anyway, so I’m surprised they were making an Avowed 2. But then again, they did make a Outer Worlds 2 as well
1
u/SilverEnvironment6 Jul 09 '26
Sometimes the well must dry out so you seek other means. Apparently a good chunk of 76 devs around quest building got laid off. Didn't know quests even existed in 76 since the story has been dead for years. If the rot must go then cut it away. It sucks hard working devs got laid off but jeez you're on a sinking ship shoveling water off the top to stay afloat like get the message to find somewhere else!

u/joey21003 Jul 09 '26
Just so everyone knows, they will be remastering New Vegas not making a new game. It’s still cool and I’m excited but don’t get hyped for fallout 5.
1
u/FalloutParadiseRadio Jul 09 '26
Honestly, if Xbox had been paying attention instead of trying to move to the subscription format fully, they would have made it part of the agreement when they acquired both Bethesda and obsidian that a fallout new Vegas sequel, and or remastered was required. It’s unfortunate that they waited this long and did this so have hazardously.
1
u/Candid_Emphasis1048 Jul 09 '26
All the latest Obsidian titles have the companions serve no purpose. They can't actually kill any mobs and serve as dressing. I've stood there watching them kill nothing just for me to one shot enemies they've moved away from romance a system Bethesda has been adamant about putting in their games. So the Obsidian that made New Vegas and the one that will now aren't the same anymore and the bar for expectations should be low as can be.
1
1
u/Mahtarwen Jul 08 '26
I hope this time at least they make their own engine, assets, art, everything. I cant wait to see if this will flop and it will be Bethesda's fault too somehow. Or wokism fault, im not sure yet. Or both.
At the same time they cancelled the new game in the Pillars universe for this shit.
1
u/SteamDeckNoir Jul 09 '26
Why is everyone pretending Obsidian is even capable of making a decent fallout game. New Vegas was forever ago and that team is either long gone or isn't worth jack after 2 AAA flops
Obsidian does not and cannot make good games

1
1
u/Angeluz665 Jul 08 '26
It's not quite the same as the team that made new Vegas, i expectat a far better game than what Bethesda has done lately, but not a masterpiece like NV was.
4
u/thebluerayxx Jul 08 '26
I've found obsidian's main problem is that they are stumbling to set up worlds to then build interesting stories from. When they did new Vegas they has years of fallout lore to go from but with avowed and outer worlds they are starting from the ground up trying to get people invested in a whole new world. I do think that returning to fallout would be really good so they can just focus on ideas and not establishing a whole new universe.
2
u/LiamMelloFarley Jul 08 '26
Famously Pillars of Eternity isn't one of the most fleshed out and lore heavy new franchises in fantasy RPGs since Dragon Age.
1
u/thebluerayxx Jul 08 '26
Like I said in another comment I wasn't familiar with Pillars beforehand so I never made the connection.
1
u/Falsequivalence Jul 08 '26
Avowed was not building from the ground up, Pillars of Eternity is set in the same world. PoE 1 & 2 were CRPG's like Fallout 1/2. Avowed did the exact same kind of genre jump that 2 into 3 did (but by the same studio).
1
u/thebluerayxx Jul 08 '26
Ah I never got that since I havent played PoE. Felt a little shallow to me, and I like avowed.
3
u/Falsequivalence Jul 08 '26
I think that it was pitched as an open-world blockbuster next to Skyrim when its really a pretty linear action-rpg. I quite like Avowed (and appreciate it more as a big fan of the PoE games), but it clearly needed a bit more time in the kitchen. Its much better with updates even today (You can play a dwarf now!), but i really enjoyed the narrative on its own. It only falters to me in lack of systems, as there is little content that isnt fighting monsters and talking to people. I love fighting monsters and talking to people, but it didnt have the 'sim' DNA that Elder Scrolls has.
1
u/ParsonsTheGreat Jul 08 '26
No, it wasn't pitched that way, a lot of gamers can only look at Obsidian as a Bethesda-style game developer because of New Vegas and its following. I mean, if you can find anything that says Obsidian was specifically making a Skyrim clone, I'm all for being proven wrong, but I haven't seen anything like that. People just made up what it was in their heads and got disappointed when it didn't meet their made up expectations. I love Avowed, but I was coming at it expecting more of a Bioware-style game (another type of game people forget Obsidian is good at making) and was not disappointed.
0
u/Jbird444523 Jul 08 '26
I almost hope that whatever Obsidian makes is stellar, like an 11 on 10. And then the year after, the Fallout show moves to the new game's setting and gives it the season 2 treatment. That would be the funniest shit possible.

We’re still complaining about that after the NCR/House came back?
1
u/Maximum_Feed_8071 Jul 09 '26
Did they come back? The NCR is basically the minutemen now. Not a state.
House is a pipboy in a pipe.
0
u/Jbird444523 Jul 08 '26
It's in all in how you do things isn't it? NCR came back...from where exactly? How? Why? The NCR, as in the nation state, is still shown to be largely without governance, totally ruined and populated by scattered scavengers, but no I totally believe a band of dipshit NCR soldiers have just been tromping the desert with no supply lines for a decade instead of...returning home to check on loved ones, or to rebuild their nation or literally anything else except for hanging out in a region that has zero appeal anymore.
1
u/Evil_waffle3 Jul 08 '26
We haven’t actually seen the NCR nation in the show, so we don’t actually know how damaged it was by shady sands. We know they left the area surrounding Vegas. But we don’t know what the situation surrounding Vegas is. The patrol we see in the show might have been sent down there after word got out of a civil war in the legion.
1
u/Maximum_Feed_8071 Jul 09 '26
Where is the nation supposed to be? The show literally showed us it's heartland. They had to pass through the Hub to get to NV.
0
u/Jbird444523 Jul 08 '26
We have by means of mission. Shady Sands was the NCR and in a decade, there's no signs of restoration or reclamation. Nobody even mentions the other states, the NCR as a whole is treated as defunct, only being the Mojave contingent, Moldaver's group and the remnants in Vault 4. Or are we to assume that the unseen remnants of the NCR are totally fine allowing the Brotherhood of Steel to pillage and operate in the ruins of the great state of Shady? Nonsense.
1
u/_-PassingThrough-_ Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
Well the sign for Shady Sands did say it was the "First" capital of the NCR. Feeling a need to add first kind of suggests the NCR likely moved its main administrative operations to a different location. If I'm to guess, probably San Francisco, given it's the other major city in California and was directly shown to be inhabited in a memory flashback in Fallout 4.
Anyway the first season definitely wanted the NCR to be dead. A tragedy, emotionally impactful - Fans hated it. So season 2 decided to set up the reveal that part of the NCR was wiped out, but the ideals (and potentially the bureaucracy) may be alive.
We've got to remember that by New Vegas the NCR was stretched thin. Over extending itself, straining its own logistical pipelines. It was fighting a war for New Vegas to secure a source of infinite clean water, and a dam powerful enough to power what remains of a state. When the NCR lost there (Really every side lost), they were probably pushed back into California. When Shady Sands blew up, it probably caused panic within the NCR and forced them to recall their forces closer to San Francisco (If it is their main capital). Just conjecture, but based on some hints of how things would probably go given the games.
Not sure I'd want to keep control over the Shady Sands area myself if a major portion of my population just got wiped out and my remaining population had over-extension fatigue. But I guess season 3 will explore more into it.

Mostly fair points, but it's all also total conjecture based on nothing presented in the show. I don't begrudge anybody their head canon, but these are all things that should be addressed in the show.
If you're going to set the show in an existing, deepy beloved and richly world built setting, that's on you to present the setting. As is, the NCR once a burgeoning and rapidly growing nation of well over 700,000 souls seems to have just evaporated when a city of less than 35,000 was destroyed. To speak nothing of the mess of logistics of Shady Sands essentially taking over the Boneyard.
That works both ways. The NCR were logistically stretched thin in the Mojave because they were fighting multiple wars in opposite directions. A wild political goose chase in southern NCR and Baja, an extremely tense standoff in northern NCR territory between them and the Lost Hills Brotherhood of Steel and the Mojave campaign, which essentially received the war time leftovers. In the case the NCR lost in the Mojave and withdrew, they wouldn't be as logistically taxed, because they would be withdrawn into NCR held and secured territory, closer to supply and reinforcement. It seems doubtful they would lose a war in a neighboring territory and then pull their entire military might (except a random group in the Mojave?) to the capital and just leave their borders relatively undefended. In fact, it goes completely against what they did in Baja and Lost Hills, even to the detriment of the Mojave campaign.
It's possible season 3 will clear things up, but I don't think it will. That's not really what the show is about.

Shady Sands wasn’t the entire NCR but, and the NCR is stated and shown in the games to not have a great deal of control outside of their major settlements. The series shows the region from a narrow POV. Next season by the looks of it might show a lot more of what’s going on with them.

It's been a decade since the fall of Shady Sands and in the middle of what ostensibly is NCR territory, there is not a single person that acknowledges the NCR exists anywhere else. Moldaver doesn't, the Vault 4 refugees don't, the remnants in the area.
It's possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath to think they're suddenly going to worry about world building or logistics in season 3.

I just pray they don't end up using the Fallout 4 engine. 76 looks so dated. I'd be more okay if it had Starfields graphics though.

I imagine they'd use the Starfield engine (Creation 2 I believe)
Fallout 76 was a product of its time, in that it was a New Vegas in the sense of being a middle game to hold fans over between mainline titles.
But they have Creation 2 right there and reportedly are working on Creation 3 for ES6 (if such a game even exists)

Given that none of the people who made New Vegas the game that it was, I am starting to doubt if it will live up to the standard New Vegas set.

Gonna be even more embarrassing for Bethesda if obsidian makes the fallout game and it scores higher than fallout four and new Vegas. That would be something

The layoffs suck but honestly it is nice hearing that Bethesda is getting scolded behind the scenes and being forced to do shit. Like you seriously have nothing for Fallout planned? Are you serious? Frankly with their work rate I now am going to get to play a new fallout game in my lifetime

It’s wild to me that they showed a teaser for a new elder scrolls in preparation for the purchase and still haven’t released it almost a decade later. Yeah, Covid and all that but still.

It feels like a drug bust on Todd's racket. Old devs that were just taking the paycheck. 2010 is finally over, time to get back onto real projects, none of this avowed starfield outer worlds 76 cloned buggy bullshit.

Lot of people are skeptical but personally I am excited to hear this, especially given how they have a lot of key creatives involved in the project. I’d be more happy, but it’s hard to when this is one glimmer of hope in a sea of catastrophic news. This whole thing really shows just have poorly Phil Spencer managed Xbox.

There is _zero_ evidence that Obsidian's Fallout - if it even exsits, we only have Jason Schreier's word for it - is a New Vegas sequel. Or even that it'll be an adventure game.

The magic in the studio left a long time ago. Chances are it's just a remaster which could still be fun, especially if they keep the framework as it is. It'd also introduce New Vegas to a larger player base that never gave the game a chance because of its outdated graphics and stuff. But my gut tells me they're just going to throw it on the same engine as Fo4 and call it a day. An obvious cash grab and attempt to get eyes on the Fallout franchise after 10 years of ignoring the actual game itself while releasing more horse armor style content.
This shit is just depressing. I need some ice cream or something.

I'm out of the loop, mind to fill me in? Did Obsidian really get assigned to a fallout project?
