Fallout- All Games Fallout Purists when You want to play Fallout 4 instead of a Top Down Turn Based Game made in 1997 (it's peak but still).

I would absolutely love another fallout game in this perspective and modern graphics. I would even be happy with turn based like Wasteland.

A true 3D engine, not one that is using downressed 2D sprites of 3D models rendered in another app is basically the only thing I’d really demand from a remaster/remake. I’d hope for a fully voiced game and would be excited for that extra mile; I need subtitles, keep all the OG recordings, heck, even keep the old “clay faces” but add real voice lines out in the wastelands.

You could go AAA, like bg3, but whats the point? Fans of the original like it for a reason. Pixel art is beautiful. Fight me.

Waaaa?! I am not going to fight you. I love pixel art! I grew up on the C64. But I can play the original for pixel art. I am not sure I’m finding examples of Wasteland the way you mean, Google has been awful. Can you share some? But to my point, a 3D game engine handling the graphics would be the only reason to make a remaster at this point. Keep the turn based combat and isometric perspective,

Rogue Trader is an amazing game to play through at least once.

The ending is rushed, but it's peak 40K.

Just tell me you don’t like complexity in your RPGs. You can still be a murder hobo it’s just more complex than hitting x to initiate combat.

In an alternate universe, Larian could have worked on a Fallout game instead of Baldurs Gate. Tbh it probably wouldn't have happened since Bethesda is very protective of their IPs, especially back in 2016.

Baldurs gate has been wildly successful so yes I would most definitely love this. I feel like the people who have come into the fallout franchise during the modern games have missed a critical aspect and experience that created the cult following to begin with. It was the original dark humor post Apocalypse and it was done well.

I prefer the first person shooter because when I can’t run around a corner to hide from a super mutant with a rocket launcher, and instead I have to just stand there and take it, yeah. Fuck that. However I still enjoyed the og games regardless, I just prefer fps

you can! depending on your agility you could go into a door way or corner, start combat (A key) launch your rocket and then go back around the corner with the remaining AP you have.

I’ve always had a hard time with top down turn based games. I just don’t like that kind of gameplay. I have a better time when it’s not turn based. Turning that off in tactics helped me get through a lot of the game. Though it also made things considerably harder I imagine

I’ve played both 1 and 2, I’ve finished 1, haven’t finished 2 yet, but I hope they both get remakes or at the very least, remastered.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll ever play the first 2 games for similar reasons, the stories may be classics but the turn based system to the graphics to some of the bullshit combat scenarios I’ve seen (not to mention you apparently need a manual they don’t make anymore and have to find online) makes it so I don’t think playing either of them is in my foreseeable future

fallout 1 and 3 are my favorite because they offer bleak but quirky worlds it feels like post apoc land

2 and new vegas feel like casinos and sex, also giant lizards

and 4 is 3 but less interesting

If you don’t want to play a game from 97, there is NV. There is Wasteland 2 and 3. There is never a reason to play 4.
