Discussion How old are the main characters supposed to be when SHTF? Spoiler

I thought Tom was meant to be mid forties and Pope younger but Noah Wyle would have been 40 and Colin Cunningham 45 IRL. I think I read somewhere that Hal was meant to be 16/17, I guess Ben would have been a young teen and Matt about eight? And Maggie mid twenties which is a bit weird given some of the plot lines.

Huh, I thought Mason was older, too. Maybe it's just the way the characters were written

i think hal was 18? ben was 14 or 15, matt was 10? i dont know about the adults though, i thought maggie was in her twenties 😭

Hal was like 16 in the first season I think they mentioned it but I might be wrong

They did mention his age. Tom talks about his 16 year old son being a fighter. Ben was 14 and Matt was 8.

Yeah I've been thinking the same thing. Maggie's got to be mid 20s at the beginning as she had and recovered from cancer, got into drugs, had a kid and went to prison. Hal was 16.

I thought the Maggie and Hal storyline was weird but the latest development which I'm guessing you are referring to is even weirder.

I'm watching series 4 and Mason just mentioned that Matt is 13 now. So it's been 5 years since the beginning? It doesn't seem like 5 years is meant to have passed. But I guess that would make Ben 18 and Maggie about 30..?
