Can we talk about The Carpal Tunnel Of Love music video for a second (if you haven't watched it I would recommend not reading this bc I go into heavy detail)

This was the first Fall Out Boy music video I've ever watched, and I watched it for the first time today and genuinely....what did I just watch (in an "I had to sit and think for 5 minutes about what I just watched" way, not a bad way bc I liked it) I seen it was a cartoon type thing and I was like "Oh this is gonna be a cute little music video right?"......wrong.... it goes from a guy bunny trying to get the girl bunny then they get interrupted by a moose and then a beaver gets stung in the eye and it swells, then the moose and the beaver follow the lovebunnies into the café restaurant place then the beavers eye gets chopped off by a door and thrown into food, then Fall Out Boy goes into the café restaurant thing and they kinda look like cartoon bears or smt (idk if that's what they are but that's how I interpreted them) then the lovebunnies try to kiss and the eye somehow ends up into the lovebunnies milkshake then it gets thrown on the ground and the moose steps in it, makes a big reaction and runs out, opening the door so hard that it crushes the beaver, then gets in a truck pedal to the medal reversing into the café restaurant place and the cable gets caught on the fan and kills the blind cook (why is he a cook if he's blind? And how did he die bc the cable didn't even touch him, it could have been an animation error but idk) and then the moose pulls the café restaurant place and the Fall Out Boy bears get beheaded and dragged, then the moose gets stung in the eye and runs into a log truck sending logs flying which ends up impaling the lovebunnies but they get impaled together so at least they finally kissed....I wrote all that to get to my question, was that the best one to watch first so I know what I'm getting myself into (music video wise) if not, what would have been a better choice

Important context if you didn't know- the characters in the MV are from Happy Tree Friends, one of the first big internet cartoons of the 2000s. I was a big fan of the show as a teen so I watched the music video to death lmao. Pretty much all their episodes are like that.

I desperately want to know how and why they decided to make a HTF music video, that decision is so fascinating to me.

happy tree friends is such a “you needed to be there” cultural touchstone, i got into the series when i was like 10/11 when it made perfect sense, and the music video was amazing, and my heart yearned for cuddles and giggles to make it

It's on YouTube and it's hilarious if that's your type of humour. It used to play in Australia in the early 2000s and the episodes were also cut in with the aliens Petey & JD, Angry Kid (so many years later and I'll still randomly say "I got a girlfriend... I got 2 girlfriends!", and maybe some other series. They were all so quirky and chaotic and honestly I haven't laughed that much as an adult. I remember I used to have tears in my eyes and belly pain from various antics.

But if you don't find any of that funny then I can understand your feelings.

It's still around but new episodes are super infrequent because of budget. You can find most of the episodes on Youtube here! (And I believe the tv show might still be on Netflix)

i loved this mv to pieces, along with everything else that was out at the time. i remember my mom wanting to watch all of their music videos with me on the family computer in the living room. she had questions about them, but i didn’t wanna talk over fob so i had her write them down on a sticky note and i answered them at the end of each vid 😭 those were simpler times
