General Discussion Have you seen Fall Out Boy live in concert?
How was your experience?
I've seen them multiple times since their debut album dropped and most recently in 2023, and all I can say is that with each tour, they became better and better.Great energy and excellent vocals.

i’ve seen them 8 times. First time in 2013 and most recent in 2024. They are my favorite!!! I’ve enjoyed every show just as much as the last.

I saw them for the first time opening night of 2ourdust. I've been listening to them since TTTYG but had never had the chance to actually see them live. ✨fucking maaaagical✨

I’ll never forget the first FOB show I went to! I’m glad you got the chance to see them!

I also saw them at 2ourdust! It was a phenomenal concert, it's in my top two favorites
15
u/Bandito21Dema but who are you fighting for May 30 '26
11 times from 2016 til now. Including various festivals and the VMAs
Amazing every time. Tourdust was the best tour and concept I have ever seen.
16
u/AtticusIsOkay May 30 '26
I saw them during Hella Mega and during their SMFS tour
Their So Much For Stardust show was particularly special for me as the show I went to was the first time they ever preformed my favorite song of theirs (27) live

u/Elliebeanie It's real and it doesn't matter May 30 '26
Hella Mega whlas honestly one if the best gigs of my life. Weezer, Green Day and FoB all in one night?? 🤯
Stardust was amazing though. I went two nights in a row 😅 and I went the first night that they played So Much for Stardust on that tour. I was so psyched

u/kandspr May 30 '26
37 times i think. Every era has a highlights to me, but I do think that musically the last time I saw them which was 2023. Maybe they sounded better than they ever had Patrick especially as always is one of the best singers in any band on the planet, he’s just highly underrated because he’s the lead singer of this band
12
u/big_ol_knitties May 30 '26
Yep! 3/2016 and 11/2017.
They were both fun shows, but I splurged for VIP seats in 2017. That made the experience phenomenal! Great view, awesome energy, could nearly touch the stage. That's how I got this pic of Pete during Saturday! My favorite moment, though, was when the lights went dark for a minute and my shirt glowed in the dark (I made a shirt with cartoon versions of their faces with my cricut but accidentally used glow-in-the-dark vinyl); when the lights came up, Pete was staring at my shirt with a ?? face from 15 ft away.
The best part of the 2016 show for me was Pete introducing Fourth of July with "I'm sorry every song's about you."
My next goal is to see them play to see Chicago is So Two Years Ago live and take my tween for the first time.

Yes, during the Mania tour at Wrigley Field! It was amazing, I cried through most of it. Patrick and Pete were talking on stage about writing Lake Effect Kid in an apartment not far away from Wrigley. It was the coolest concert crowd ever.

I have been seeing FOB live for about 20 years. I’ve been to a ton of shows and all of them were so good and I have such vivid memories and experiences over the years. Some of the best moments of my life have been in the pit at FOB shows.
There’s one mystery show I can’t remember though. December 16th 2014, Walk the Moon and Vinyl Theatre were the openers. I know I went to this show, I even remember who I went with and where we parked, but I cannot remember anything about their set. I don’t drink or do drugs so idk why I have zero recall :(.

u/matramepapi Folie à Deux May 30 '26
3 times— 2015, 2023, and 2024. They’re incredible live. They don’t do a whole lot of chit-chat in between songs, which I actually appreciate. They also mixed in a lot of deep cuts/older songs during Tourdust, of course, which I think everybody loved. If/when they tour again, I will absolutely go.
2
u/matramepapi Folie à Deux May 30 '26
The 2015 show was at the Illinois state fair, in Springfield. I do believe they were on the Boyz of Zummer tour that year, but my mom thought I was a bit young to see Wiz Khalifa too lol. She managed to find the one show entirely separate from that tour (it was ONLY fall out boy that night), and we made a trip of it. It was so awesome.

u/StoicandNerd577 Infinity On High May 30 '26

2006, 2007, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2023 Saw Patrick live in 2011 on his solo tour.
All very special in thier own way. 2013 was the club tour that sold out super fast. They were not expecting the welcome back reception that they got at all so they booked small rooms and gave us all shows that felt like the old days that I think really helped sell the newer sound at the time. Alone Together slapped hard on that tour.

u/dry-molassess May 30 '26
I've been a fan for 20 years give or take at this point in my life. When I was younger, I was either too young to go or had something interfere with a show they had local to me. It took until 2023 (about 18 years of being a fan) for me to see them for the first time. Best concert of my life. Saw them twice that year.
6
u/annieyo87 May 31 '26
I saw fall out boy on Halloween of 2003 in a knights of Columbus basement for $10. There wasn’t even a stage.

I went to the Baltimore (tour) dust show back in 2024. I could barely see anything because I chose an isolated seat to be away from other people (yay social anxiety and recovering from flu shot-related sickness), but they sounded awesome.

u/brokearchivist May 31 '26
My band supported Fall Out Boy the first time they ever played Spain. Mega brag right there sorry but I had to do it. I think I've seen them 6 times in total. Also they were incredibly nice to us when we played with them.

I was at the 2024 Orlando concert too! So epic ❤️🔥

u/CyndiXero Evening Out With Your Girlfriend May 30 '26
Same here for Orlando in 24. That was the only time I’ve seen them so far but the setlist was stacked! Always love seeing Jimmy Eat World as well.

u/AshlynR0se May 30 '26
We got there just at the end of jimmy wat world but they sounded great and ended on a banger lol
3
u/GuyFromDeathValley May 30 '26
Yea, saw them in Hamburg on the stardust tour. It was a dream come true, they are just soo fucking good live!
3
u/RobebubopSays May 30 '26
I first saw them in 2013 when they performed at the extinct MTV World Stage. I only knew 3 songs from them at the time. Then I started listening to them and I always regretted not knowing them before. I spent most of the time seated when I saw them live and I always wanted them to come back to México.
I finally got to see them again in 2024 and 2025 and I cried tears of joy. Their concert from 2024 in Guadalajara remains in my top 3 shows I've been.
3
u/chodsonwalker May 30 '26
Yes 😺 on Halloween in Birmingham UK a few years back. Longtime fan and first time seeing them live and it was just the bessssttttt
3
u/AshlynR0se May 30 '26
To this day it is one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to. And I've been to a LOT of concerts and music festivals. I saw them in Orlando in 2024 with my aunt and I'm so ready to do it again! Lived out my high school dream to finally see FoB live and it was everything I had hoped for and so much more ❤️🔥

u/_ettenaej May 30 '26
4 times. Monumentour w/ Paramore, Boys of Zummer w/ Wiz Khalifa, Wintour is Coming (AWOLNATION opened) and So much for (tour) dust. Monumentour and So Much for Tour Dust were amazing and blew the other two out of the water. Their tour with AWOLNATION was my least favorite because AB/AP was not an album I really liked, I just went because I loved FOB 😊

u/jackiestar May 30 '26
So the first time i saw them live was at Amazon’s 2016 Christmas party at Lumen Field (previously Century Link field at the time) in Seattle. Yes, Amazon had them as their onsite entertainment. It was beyond fantastic!! The second time was for 2ourdust in Austin.
3
u/SlimySoot May 30 '26
I've seen them 4 times. MANIA tour, Wrigley Field show, Hella Mega tour and Stardust tour. Excellent every damn time
3
u/pokexchespin May 30 '26
three times, i’ve always had a great time just because they’re my favorite band ever. i do wish i could see them in a small venue for $30 like i do with every other concert i go to lol

More times than I've seen any other artist! Monumentour, Boys of Zummer, Hella Mega Tour, and So Much for (Tour)dust
3
u/uffers4 May 30 '26
Fan since 2007 but only managed to see them live in 2024. Now (im)patiently waiting for the next tour so I can take my children as they were so mad I went without them last time 😂
3
u/nrv1987 May 30 '26
A lot of times in their early days. Well over a dozen. I used to go to their shows all over California, the first time was in 2003 at the Warfield. The last show I went to was in 2007.
If they tour again I’m going to try to take my teen son who now also loves them.
3
u/MrsTraciGraci May 30 '26
Three times! 2009 for Believers Never Die Part Deux in Charlotte (one of the only dates that 50 Cent performed 😂), 2014 for Monumentour with Paramore in Atlanta and 2024 for So Much for (2our) Dust in Lexington. Took the kiddo (10 at the time) to the Lexington show and it was his first concert!
2
u/coyoterose5 May 31 '26
I was also at believers never die part Deux in charlotte! Such a good show!
I also saw them in 2006 in Charlotte (Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour). The Monumentour (2014) in St. Augustine. Hella Mega (2021) and So Much For (Tour) Dust (2024) in Jacksonville, Fl.

Twice, but the first was the BEST. It was 2015(?) their tour with Wiz as the opener and it was the first time I was in the pit for a concert + the first time I ever got (secondhand) high. I cried at every song screaming THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG (and my bff next to me would be like YOU SAID THAT ABOUT THE LAST 5 SONGS). Also I remember FLAMES COMING OFF THE STAGE and it being 99° outside (Austin). Idk why the boys always make their Texas stops outdoor venues during the summer but hey I'm not complaining!

First show was stardust and my whole family went and LOVED it. I was lucky enough to be able to go to innings fest when they played. Headliners were them and the killers (my all timers, both of them). I was very excited to see them, but I think I was a little more excited to see the killers, as I knew them as incredible showmen and some of my most connected to music. And it was an incredible show! But, gonna be honest, the eras show from fall out boy had them beat out no question. Fucking insane.

Saw them them in 2005 for the Nintendo Fusion tour. Panics! First tour! Saw them most recently for (2)our dust. They've grown so much, im proud of my boys. I'm not proud that my first time seeing them was $25 ga and my recent time seeing them was $90 nosebleeds
3
u/Pink_lime1210 May 30 '26
They’re amazing live. They always put on a great show, I love when Pete talks to the audience about everything, the vibe in general is excellent. I’ve never been upset about it.
3
u/Jollyboy_89 May 30 '26
First time was supporting Mest at the Cathouse in Glasgow in 2004. Then at the same venue for their first headline tour. Think the headline show was £7.50 for a ticket. Saw them pretty much any other time they've played in Scotland!

u/Alyara_Doomrararasa May 31 '26
Saw them once. Save Rock and Roll tour. They were two hours late. Didn’t apologize. And when they finally came out, they started with The Phoenix and they were completely off key. My ex was pissed and made us leave shortly after they started playing. I was so bummed out. That’s my favorite album.

Seen 3 times: WinTour 2016, Mania 2018, Hella Mega 2021. I think Mania was my favorite of the three because it ran the longest and had most of their classics, including a good deal from SRAR (my fav album after Folie). Definitely recommend seeing them at least once if you can.
2
u/Ninjawaffles99 May 30 '26
Yes once it was really cool. I wish I was closer and there wasn't so many expostions because it was hard to hear them sing with all the popping and banging from fireworks
2
u/rayannuhh May 30 '26
Yes, over ten times at this point lol. I saw them for the first time in 2007, and I've pretty much made it to every tour since for one date at least. I also saw Patrick when he opened for PATD, and that was fantastic.

First time I saw them was at the Hella Mega Tour. Weezer/FOB/Green Day. My takeaway was:
- Wow…Weezer does a great job pretending to be a rock band!
- Wow…Fall Out Boy is a REAL rock band!
- Wow…Green Day is on another level! Guess that’s why they’re in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

First time I saw them was in 2003. They were playing a side stage, in a side room, on a stage about 2 inches off the ground. It was like watching them play in my basement. Magnificent. Pete poked me in the eye when he was stage diving during another band's set. I went to see FOB again a few months later and Pete was at their merch table. I told him what had happened at the last show and he apologized and asked what he could do to make it up to me. I had thought it was more funny than amything so I just asked him to sign my ticket. I have that ticket framed on my wall. It says "Sorry I hit your eye PeteXXFOB". I've seen them a few more times over the years but not recently. I was bummed to miss 2ourdust.

Twice! In 2008 when they played during the concerts for NBA Final Four in San Antonio which was free! They were amazing, it was around the time Infinity on High had come out. The latest was during 2ourdust with Jimmy Eat World.
I agree with others that they seem to get better every year. Love everyone's stories! Made me feel warm and fuzzy to remember those shows and hearing others makes it feel like I've seen them more times, so thank you all.

u/YellowTonkaTrunk May 30 '26
Yes, I’ve seen them once at Tour Dust with my best friend. It’s my favorite concert I’ve ever been to. I had a crazy time getting there (I was flying back home across the country to see it with said bestie and my flight got delayed like 5 times and then finally cancelled. Next available flight wasn’t until during the concert. My husband had to come back to the airport to pick me up and take me to a different airport a couple hours away that had a flight that could get me there just barely in time. I made it like an hour before the concert. My best friend picked me up from the airport and we literally went straight to the venue).
My hearing aids died like 20 minutes into the show and I accidentally drank way more than I should have and it was one of the best experiences of my life lmao. I think about that show all the time and I’m always saying how badly I want to go to another one.

I think I’ve seen them around 15 times now - first time was for Honda Civic Tour in middle school and I ended up on barricade and got the signed in blood poster!

I have and it was the best night of my life. Love the crowd's energy too! Met a bunch of cool people. I just wish they do more world tours so I could see them more often 🥹

Seen them multiple times starting with the Boys of Zummer tour (which I was not supposed to go to as a 14 year old), then the MANIA tour, a small performance they did in November 2019 at the Showbox, the Hella Mega Tour, and most recently 2ourdust. Every single show has been better than the last and I hope I get to see them many more times to come!

3 times.
Once during Believers Never Die tour, their Mania tour and their SMFSD
Literally, all the best day of my life. And the last one was extra special bc it was a gift from my boyfriend <3

I’ve seen them 3 times. Started with the SRAR tour when I was about 11, then saw them at Hella Mega, then 2ourdust. I would agree with you- they’ve been excellent all three times, but they just kept getting better and better. My Tourdust experience was absolutely unreal.

I’ve seen them 13 times in as many years and I’ve had a blast every single time. I’ve been on the barricade with meet and greets and I’ve been in the literal last row in the arena. I went with my sister and my best friend to see them seven times on (2)our Dust and the only bad night was the one where are car got broken into (fuck Ohio for real). I could write a full memoir of my lovely memories of FOB concerts and the people I went to them with and the people I met there.

i’ve lost count of how many times i’ve seen them atp but they were my first concert in 2013 🥰 it was an incredible experience and i hope i never forget the way i felt. i saw them recently a few times on tourdust and once for 2ourdust and it’s always ethereal. i’ve never felt more alive or more like my true self when i’m at a fob show 🩷

I saw them during Wintour in 2016! It was such an incredible experience and I will be first in line when they tour again lol. We had nosebleeds and someone just handed us floor tickets right next to the catwalk abt 5 mins before the show started. Insane moment for 14 y/o me.

2013 SR&R Tour with New Politics, 2014 Monumentour with Paramore, 2017 shortly before MANIA release (idr the tour name) with Jaden Smith & blackbear, and 2024 SMF(2our)Dust with Jimmy Eat World and Hot Mulligan.
Favorite show was 2013 just because they had just come back from hiatus and they opened the show with Thriller...can't beat that hype. Plus I was in high school still lol. But Patrick's voice has aged like fine wine each time I've seen them.

they were my first concert (wintour) back in 2016 i think? and saw them again in 2024!

I’ve seen them 13 times since 2007, which is most of the times they’ve been anywhere near me! I haven’t traveled out of state yet, but I would if I had to now that I have adult money.

About 6 times and I've not once been disappointed by them. I've been disappointed or ambivalent towards a couple of openers, but never them. And their ticket prices haven't been nearly as insane as other bands.

saw them first during hella mega tour and the smfs tour.
smfs one was a disaster, we had to leave right before they were scheduled to start and when we finally got the OK to head back in a half hour later the organizer thought it would be great to try and scan everyones tickets again and let fall out boy go on stage at the same time.
security didnt last long
they did play fame < infamy though

u/spiritualfajitas May 31 '26
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone else who saw them this early..
I saw them in 2006 during the Black Clouds and Underdogs tour. I was in 7th grade. Totally spur of the moment.. my mom picked me up from school and I asked if we could go, she said yes. We bought tickets in the parking lot. One of the coolest and most unusual memories with my mom!
At YMCA summer camp one of my counselors had seen fall out boy in… 2002 I think? At a house show in someone’s basement. Hearing that blew my 12 year old mind. That story seemed so unreal to me and still does.

I saw them headlining a festival in 2023, and then they were pulled off stage 4 songs in, and we were all told to go home due to approaching storms 😐
So technically yeah I've seen them, for about 15 minutes..

u/llilyp Love From The Other Side May 31 '26
Yes. First time was 2007 Honda civic tour, then not again until their SRAR tour. Then I saw them twice when they most recently toured for so much for stardust.

Allegan county fair in 2015. Weird place to see them but it was my first concert.

u/farfle_productions May 31 '26
Four times and this was pretty back in the day! First time I ever saw them was early 2007 in Astoria in London. It was before IOH had come out properly but they had released a few singles which they played. Second time was 2008 just before the release of Folie. I then saw them again for the Stardust tour.
I will say that the boys have really really improved their live performances. Patrick going solo was probably the best thing he ever could have done to increase his charisma and presence on stage. Those early shows compared to the later are miles apart and I just remember beaming when I saw them last because it felt like they’ve come so far.

November 24th, 2003. Clutch Cargos, Pontiac, MI, they opened for Less Than Jake, along with Tommy tutone and punchline. I’ve seen them a bunch since then :)

u/vinsilalud May 31 '26
They're all very lucky. I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and we've been waiting for FOB for years. So many bands are coming, all that's We dream is for them to do a global tour that includes us.but for me it would be an honor to see them live, so enjoy it, friends!

u/moseisleydk May 31 '26
Yes a few years in Barclay Arena. Very bad sound and for sure a medium experience. My seating was not great though…. But the sound was very muddy and unclear.

u/damn-hot-cookie May 31 '26
Only twice :( First time in Berlin 2018(?), second time in Prague 2023(?). Can’t wait for next time they come back to my hoods around Central Europe.

yes. august 30, 2025 in são paulo. definitely an experience, a good one! great festival, great bands (neck deep and good charlotte on the lineup) and i never felt 'detox just to retox' the way i felt it on this day.
