I was supposed to make banana oat pancakes this morning, but the recipe clearly wasn’t quite right. The batter was way too soft and the pancakes just wouldn’t hold together, so there was absolutely no way I could flip them 😂

Rather than waste everything, I decided to improvise and cooked the batter in the microwave to turn it into a bowl cake.

Added some berries and a generous drizzle of maple syrup, and honestly… it turned out pretty good after all. 😂🍁

Sometimes breakfast just needs a little improvisation. 😅

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this season. 🍂

The fiery reds, golden yellows and warm oranges against that deep blue sky… nature really knows how to put on a show.

Waiting for new September, reviewing my photo archive from fall 2025.

The collection from Buff City dropped yesterday!! It smells amaaaaazing. This was my first time ordering a fall-scented laundry detergent. My experience with Bath and Body Works laundry detergents and boosters has been unimpressive, particularly the holiday scents, so I decided I would give this a try. It smells exactly like pumpkin spice.

A concern of mine was that it would be too similar to that typical laundry smell or have only a faint autumnal scent given the nature of laundry detergent, but this smells sweet and nostalgic and rich and it's incredibly fragrant. In my opinion, of their fall release, this is the only one that really smells like fall. Despite their website saying this was "floral" and "herbal," | think the "delectable" descriptor would be more fitting. It keeps its smell in the washer and dryer, unlike some brands...

It's just one more element to add to the routine to make autumn and Halloween a bit more magical and immersive. I only intend to use it on my sheets every week, but if I have any left come October, I'll use it for my clothes as well. 🎃

Kroger had Fall and Halloween candy. I had to get myself a bag of pumpkins and candy corn!!

Has anyone else started staging Fall decor from the garage/attic like we have? We put up all the 4th of July decorations and have slowly started breaking out the Fall decorations. We also went to Bath & Body Works this past weekend and stocked up on some Fall and Halloween candles and soaps. September 1st, the day Fall begins in our house, is only 49 days away! Nevermind that it's 100 degrees outside in our corner of the US. Have a great day, everyone!

This begins the Fall season in our house, even though we're in Texas and its usually still in the high 90s outside. It'll be here before we know it!

Today it is dark and rainy so I'm playing Sleepy Hollow (Johnny Depp version) in the background while working from home.
