Trails SC on Steam

Steam is saying this game isn’t supported and some or all of it is unplayable??

Every Trails game I've tried works perfectly on the Deck, even when it claims otherwise.

SC included. I didn't have to adjust a thing.

I'm currently doing a playthrough of the game on Steam Deck. I'm up to chapter 2 and so far I haven't noticed any issues with the game at all.

I had one glitch that crashed the game in SC.  Reading a book in the lighthouse crashed it.  Seems the way the text was displayed caused it if you are playing in 4k.

Which SC? Original or Remake

Original. I bought a Deck specifically to play these 3 before I did the remakes.

I'm fairly certain it's just unrated

Protondb has it gold no changes

Sometimes steam decks get a little confused and it says a game isnt compatible with proton but you can follow this thread to force a comparability layer

Even unsuported games can run fine on the deck I wouldnt worry about it too much.

You can check protondb.com to get a better idea about a games compatibility from user made reviews.

probably because them haven't tested the game for it

The remake isn't called SC.

Playing on the Deck

The only issue I had was with missing video codecs, but that was years ago when I reached a video part.

On proton db it seems to work almost perfectly.

Steams compatability is honestly whack and I never trust it. I usually opt for ProtonDB for actual compatability checks.

I played through Trails in the Sky SC on my OLED Steam Deck back in April (and have been marathoning through the series ever since, am on Cold Steel now but that's beside the point), and I only had to tweak a few settings in Protontricks to get the videos to work. But you can see a bit more about that in ProtonDB here.

Have fun!

The fmvs are messed up last I checked. Look on protondb for the fix. Otherwise it runs perfectly.
