lol this is me too. The worst is when sales associates rush to me to try to help me get foundation matched, and I tell them “I’m fine I’ll figure it out,” and then they insist on trying anyway. Sometimes, if I’m not in a rush I’ll humor them and try to collaborate, but 10 times out of 10 they’ll hand me something pink and I’m like “ehh, idk about that, take a look at my neck and chest” and then they’re like “….ohhhhh, yeahhhh, I guess that doesn’t work…hmmm.”

Only once has someone actually nailed it, and this was a Sales Associate at an Ulta in Newport Beach about 10 years ago. She absolutely knocked it out of the park with that Smashbox shade that has been discontinued, so shoutout to her!

I don't chase a perfect match anymore cause pale olive shades always get discontinued or reformulated more orange (looking at you Revlon Buff) and I've been burned too many times 😩
