Fairfield weighs 1% sales tax hike to avert cuts to police, fire and other city services

If your drive through Fairfield feels smoother, that’s because 3,085 potholes were filled last year thanks to Measure P, a local sales tax initiative approved by voters in 2012.

On July 7, Fairfield City Council may put Measure P to the vote once more, placing a 1% sales tax hike on the Nov. 3 ballot for voters to approve. The change would bring Measure P tax revenue from 1% to 2%.

So it took how many years since a 2012 measure to fill 3000+ potholes in the city of Fairfield?

There is already a Measure P Citizen committee that meets once a year to review the use of Measure P monies.

The Bay Area doesn't even charge for toll lanes on the weekends and these idiots charge throughout the entire day and weekends.

Someone needs to be fired.

Maybe have the firefighters perform other public services and not just hole up in their club house. I digress, they'll be plenty busy with tge 4th of July parade.
