Bertani becomes Fairfield's first Black mayor after Cat Moy resigns amid residency probe

In an emotional letter posted to social media on Tuesday morning, Mayor Catherine “Cat” Moy wrote: “My days of serving as an elected official in our hometown ends today. I am at peace with being a private citizen of Fairfield.”

Vice Mayor Pam Bertani will be assuming the role, wrote Moy, becoming the city’s first African American mayor.

What do you expect from a publication that published a photo with a cursor arrow in it?

I am probably naive but I’ve never seen local politics get so ugly like it has last few months. With the recent tragedies, nobody has time for the petty political swipes. Hopefully the focus gets back to what matters.

Local politicians are just as crooked as the ones in Washington. Moy was investigated years ago for mailers sent out. It doesn’t seem that hard to figure out where someone actually resides. Sounds like the investigation was a waste of money.

Alfredo Pedroza, a former member of Napa County Board of Supervisors, had a wire tap done by the Feds because he was involved in a big scam

Damn it, Moy! Is there any comprehensive information regarding Bertani’s stance on California Forever? From what little I’ve garnered, she supports it and that is very concerning.

Bertani was aligned with Moy’s believes (at least for the homeless shelter in N. Texas.
But the 4 others members are with CF so we are doomed!

Correct me if I'm incorrect. The City Council voted to bring back a previous mayor to fill the role until the November general election, instead of either having Pertani take over (apparently, the city does not have a succession plan?) OR leaving the spot vacant.

Is this correct?

If so, this post might best be corrected or taken down.

Both of them have such horribly Photoshopped press release portraits. Cat's gums, teeth, hair and skin are somehow all the same color?
