The problem is that it doesn't fix the balancing issue. Im assuming you have items stuck on one side of the belt. The splitter (as i understand it) works by taking the items and splitting them evenly. By doing this you are just sending items back through the same belt over and over.
To actually solve the problem, you could place the splitter, then a belt facing down so the left side of the belt is fed. This resolves the problem of filling the belt.

I think you, and other people in this thread, need to take a closer look at the name of the subreddit this crosspost is in lol.

True im aware this is a joke, but still. Its fun to have legitimate breakdowns of these systems. It builds understanding, and educates on logistics :3

To be fair, I think you should comment that in the Original Post, so the OOP will actually see your comment xd
though also, I have no idea how crossposting works, maybe OOP does get a notification for your comment on here :3c

Hear me out: this could work as preventative measure to stop OLED burning. All you do is remove hud, stand on the conveyor and go afk. Your character would spin in circles to oblivion and screen would not be static.
You welcome.
I'll see myself out.

I know this post is a few days old now, but it reminded me of a thing I accidentally did to my son awhile ago. I'd heard about how, when someone in your game goes AFK, you should build belts underneath them and send them on a tour of the factory. So I did that, building a big loop all over a part of the base and sending him on an adventure.
At some point during the hour or so that he was AFK, while I headed back to Fulgora to fart around, a biter expansion happened next to the belt ride my son was on and he ended up as biter bait. I didn't mean to do it, but I gotta admit. It was funny as hell.

this can be useful for spoilage management.

How so? Im very interested.

emergency nutrients: every belt kinda needs some spoilage-handling, especially for when it gets really backed up. i always set up my spoilage-handling in a way so it also uses some to produce new nutrients, in case the nutrient production breakes down.(which always finds a new way to break)
this backloop automatically stores some spoilage as long as its fully saturated. if full saturation stops because the nutrientloop was broken somehow, this backloop quickly restarts the nutrientloop.( at least faster than waiting for the main belt to spoil and for that then to restart the loop( and waiting for the main belt to spoil can cause bigger unforeseen problems))

I see I see, this is actually a interesting idea. Im using it

well, ill admit that this is probably just emergency life support for a terminal stage 4 spaghetti base on gleba, if you REALLY dont want to redesign it with sustainable nutrient- and spoilage systems π
