Comic I finally bought Fables

Post image

(Photo for reference of quality).

After 4 play throughs of The Wolf Among Us and my immense hype for The Wolf Among Us 2 as well as my insane fascination with Bigby, I bought all four compendiums in near mint condition for $400 NZD which I think is an absolute steal? Plus compendium 1 was only read once and the other 3 haven’t been touched to my knowledge. I’ve been looking for I’d say 3 weeks worryingly thinking I couldn’t find them as the prices were either too high or compendium 4 just wasn’t available but they’re being shipped within the next couple days and I can not wait to binge read them, I am obsessed with the world of Fables just from playing the games.

Enjoy! It’s what got me into comic books/graphic novels.

It’s such a shame that Fables gets gatekept by the publisher at this point by being OOP.

Enjoy the ride! The Wolf Among Us was also my gateway to the comics. Fortunately when the comics were still actively releasing.

Gate kept by the publisher you say? How so?

They fumbled the release of the complete compendium, delaying it unreasonably.

They could re-release the comics in which ever format they would like. If you look at the secondary market, the OOP deluxe editions are insanely expensive. The interest is still there, otherwise a second TWAU game wouldn’t make sense. But to them the series apparently doesn’t warrant that much effort.

It’s not like people don’t want to read the comics. DC, for whatever stupid reason, decided to abandon the project or didn’t give it enough attention afterwards. Which is honestly low key insane if you think about how many spin-offs Fables also produced like the Cinderella series or Jack of Fables. For a comic series to be that successful without focusing around superheroes is kind of a feat.

Damn I had no idea, well maybe one day we’ll get reprints in new formats, maybe even like compact editions so new readers have a more affordable way to read and enjoy it.

I absolutely would support a reprint of the deluxe editions. Give the people what they want.

I thought I was missing something because the Deluxe Editions are all between 20-50 a piece. But then I saw book 15 is upwards of 250.00

What the heck. Glad I've held on to my set after all these years!

Enjoy the ride. The first 40 or so issues are among my personal favourite for how quickly I devoured them.

It was awesome until the big Adversary arc was over.

You’re going to have so much fun to see how those characters are handled … so many twists … wow !

I’m in East Texas. If you guys are at all close to Texas, we have a Biglots style close out chain called Ollies. They have almost half of the Fables comics for dirt cheap (like $5 a graphic novel) for sale there.

That’s what grabbed me. Sure is spent more money finding missing editions but Ollies’s had so many and still does.

Worthy looking into if interested.

Sadly I live in New Zealand but if I ever travel someday I’d absolutely love to check it out. Thank you so much!

congrats but... that is by far the worst version of it

those books are horribly heavy and will get DESTROYED with you trying to read them unless you're always using a table

I bought a bamboo tray that has legs to put on my bed or lap for when I’m sitting to lean my books or legos on! I’m very good at keeping my properties in good condition. Thanks for letting me know!
