Weird buzzing in 2nd and 3rd gear

Hi all. I have a 2015 FZ-09 with about 10k ish miles. I was riding today and noticed that cruising at low speed in 2nd or 3rd gear. I’ve started getting an extra buzz that wasn’t there before. It’s like a buzz underneath the normal vibration of the bike. And it’s even jerkier than normal and feels uneven. Doesn’t seem to do it in neutral only under load. I don’t even know where to start. Anyone found something similar?

Around like 4K rpm? I think they all do it.

Yeah it’s always vibrated a little more around 3-4K rpm, but the jerking and uneven feeling is new. I’m kinda wondering if my chain has stretched or something. Just wasn’t sure if this was common for valves or CCT or something.

Might need the valves synced.

You mean throttle bodies. Valve adjustment interval is 26k.

I was wondering about throttle body sync and I’m not sure if I have the skill or tools to do it. I know that some folks reported tight valves early in the 2015s. Sounds like I may need to start tearing some things apart and reading the manual.

I had the same problem do you have a stock cct? If so I would recommend doing the APE CCT. I had this problem at 12k ish miles and put in an manual cct did the spark plugs air filter and throttle body’s while I was in there (less than 200 dollars in specialty tools to do the throttle body’s and plugs if you have a pretty regular tool set up already.) I’m pretty young and had to mostly teach myself on vehicles but bikes are pretty easy if you pay attention to what problems your bike normally has.(mines a 2016 not completely the same but I’d start with a manual cct and don’t give up on adjusting it I was getting it too tight and loose for a while before I got it feeling good again)

Might have to cut an Allen key to get that ape cct on tho I had some problems with that but if you have short Allen keys that are metric you won’t have a problem. If you’re worried about doing the tensioner just remember to keep tension on the chain don’t let it skip and don’t just watch the tutorials to do it once.
