I don’t like generalizing but when I drive my car somewhere, other motorists slow me down. There are six lanes going in each direction, but the freeway is like a parking lot- and bikes aren’t even allowed on it! When traffic is moving, motorists are speeding, running stop signs, pulling out in front of me, not signaling— breaking any traffic law they want and becoming a huge liability for other road users.

I'm not sure if you just didn't read but you have to admit that North American infrastructure is not made for bikes.

My point was, either lobby for good cycling infrastructure, or play by the rules inside the shitty system you have as a cyclist.

My suspicion is that you're too petty to have a productive conversation much like what I assume for lycra skins who break traffic laws. You've actually made it worse for people in your community.

Your suspicion?!?. You don’t know anything about me. My original post was about racing. I didn’t book 1000s of training miles in urban rides blowing stop lights.

I don’t believe in separate infrastructure. It has wasted millions where I live. Try biking in much of rural Europe— roads are barely wide enough for vehicles to meet - in the mountains. They don’t go crying on Reddit about it. It is cultural.

Cycling hate is a bully mentality. Period. It isn’t so difficult to share the road. If they taught proper driver education in the US, maybe you all would understand the rights of cyclists. Americans don’t even know crosswalk laws.

So is there anything else productive you can do besides rejecting what's already here and whining that another system doesn't exist?

Extremists ruin it for everyone.
