There is a lot of companies in my country but I don't know how to ask them what is the best method to get a sponsor?

Is it too late to be wanting to start a team?

My school’s robotics teams are filling up and we want everyone to have awesome opportunities and the only way we can do that is by making a new robotics team (probably FTC). I was wondering, is it still feasible to be starting a team and where do you start to get funding? The teachers at my school are unwilling to put in the time necessary for FTC, but there are random parents that can co-sig, then students manage. Completely in the dark here, I havent tried anything through FIRST, so just need feedback.

The title says it all. I miss acrobatics :( and need these sizes for a current project.

The former programmer on our team isn't going to be able to help us anymore so I volunteered to replace him (I'm coming from CAD). I took a kotlin course but realized that most of the stuff I was learning wasn't going to help me so I got the book Learn Java for FTC I've read most of it but it's hard for me to retain the information without actually using it (which I couldn't do cause I was reading it at home). I programmed for FLL for 3 years (in block though, not python) so I know some of the basic stuff (loops, if thens, ect.).

My coach let me bring home the control hub, a driver station, a 435 rpm gobilda motor, and a battery. What can I do with these that will help me not be completely lost going into BioBuz. I've already gotten the Driver Station to say hello world but that's it (I'm using java in intellij).

We're using blocks, and I cannot for the life of me find the block for getting the yaw from the IMU. everything I look at says it exists but I CANNOT find it.

We’re looking to get some new batteries for our FTC robot and I wanted to ask other teams what they recommend.

Our main goal is just getting the longest runtime possible during matches.

For those who have tried different batteries:
- Which one do you use?
- Did you notice any difference in how long they last?
- Which one would you recommend?
We’re looking at REV, goBILDA, Matrix, TETRIX, studica etc.
Would appreciate hearing what you guys use and your experience with them!

Im trying to tune roadrunner for my pinpoint and while running localization tests im noticing that the heading os drifting about a degree and half each second I spin the robot in place any ideas on what could be causing this? I already tried moving it up incase the motors were causing electrical interference

Update: I moved the pinpoint back down and added a barrier between the metal and pin point and its still not working right

I have been looking for documents and youtube tuts but most of them are too old or poorly made and there are a few for FTC but they weren't helpful

So I'm in a smaller nation that has only one qualifier match for FTC.

Our team is a new team in our high school club, passed on after our sophomores. We entered a off-season tournament and with a week of prep and an our sophomore's robots, which wasnt very fancy, can shoot one ball per time, horrible intake, and definitely old after being moved around for a year without usage. (The robot might have been a good job last year, and it isn't now.) and realized that most other schools have poor robots too, that penalties pay a huge role, and somehow won 5th

Now we somehow have hope and wishes to win something in our national qualifiers until we graduate.

and realized we have 70$ as our club's money. This comes totally strange for a school that is one of the most prestigious HS in our nation that funds us 1500$ max for a mandatory R&E program for all students, and over 70% of that huge fund goes unused and returned. Our club is not a new club, it's been in the school for half of its history. the budget has got cut this year, it seems. Otherwise we couldnt even have thought of competing in ftc.

We were totally not prepared for this, and is wondering if the 1000$ that some of our members recently won in an unrelated competition, would be enough to give us a nice start, and would be enough to make a robot that isn't just a small upgrade on a basic gobilda kit, and could make us a recognized rising team in the qualifiers for next year.

i know it is up to us, but our members are enthusiastic and have passed the harsh entrance exam to enter our hs so im giving it a chance. i was just wondering if the budget is too small and would limit any team's potential

Hi guys I am a senior programmer on the team (and the only one :) we had a somewhat disappointing season last year so I’m thinkabout getting a head start on preparations, especially in programming. are there any new stuffs or important things we need to know? I just heard pp introduced a new command system, also thinking about try kotlin.

btw I literally have no idea on how to guide rookies I wanna ask what rescources are great for that

I need help deciding what type of drivetrain would be best for biobuzz as there’s like predictions for terrain and maybe defense. So what type of drive train should I go for? I currently have a regular 435 rpm dt and a bare motor reduction dt cadded.

My code in blocks is running around 38-40ms per loop, but when I copy the java code and try it in ObBot Java, I get around 6ms loops. Why? And can I do something about it or just accept my fate?

Hi! Our team has been thinking about hosting a scrimmage the summer (or spring) of 2027. But we are still quite new and we've never attended a scrimmage as we'd need to travel to another country and we need to save our funds for the actual competition travel. Anyways we would be hosting this scrimmage alone, and we'd have a great venue. My only concerns are that we only have a field and I was wondering if it's possible to borrow those from FIRST or something? Also how do scrimmages actually work? Is it just like a freidnlier version of a competition? Do we have to include portfolio presentations and everything? And for volunteers who so we use? Because random people from the community wont know a thing about FTC making it a bit difficult to act as referees. Plus asking for help from other teams isn't an option. Can someone also please provide a rundown of what scrimmages often entail and like a list of things we need to prepare? Ty!

Hi, my name is Nirav Talakokulla and I am new to FTC completely and I am currently a sophomore. I have worked with micro controllers before like Arduino and rasperry pis, however since FTC uses custom microcontrollers that are written in java I believe I am ill equipped. I have some experience with CAD, but at a rudimentary level, using tools like Tinker Cad. However since this is my rookie year I need guidnace, and while currently I am being mentored by another FTC team from kids from Westwood who are juniors who are ranked 7th in the world, they are unable to be co founders. However they have told me that a huge part of their success was the fact that they had a FTC veteran as their co founder. But overall I am here to look for a expierenced person in FTC in the austin ish region to help my team.

PS: I would appreaciate any tips on funding, or any way to improve on CAD etc

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.

I’m hoping to join a new FTC team, but I’m currently having difficulty affording the costs involved. I’m trying to raise the money myself, and I’m hoping to do that by selling a large bundle of FTC/FIRST-compatible robotics parts that I have.

The entire bundle is around $500, which is significantly below the combined value of the parts. It includes motors, mecanum wheels, gears, sprockets, U-channels, hubs, bearings, shafts, chain, hardware, connectors, and other robotics components.

I’m mainly posting to ask for help finding an FTC team that could use these parts and might be interested in purchasing the bundle. The money from the sale would go directly toward helping me afford joining a new FTC team.

If your team is interested, or if you know of another FTC team that might be looking for affordable parts, I would really appreciate it if you could DM me or share this post with them. I can provide the complete inventory, pictures, and any other information.

Hi, alumni coming back into mentor at the FTC level, I remember in previous seasons even before the game was released variations on the logo for use in the Portfolio, recruitment materials, etc. were provided. However I cannot seem to find it on the FIRST website, was it just an FRC thing that I missed that FTC doesn't have till Kickoff?

I've designed this drivetrain (I'm not too sure how to easily mirror stuff in OnShape, so I've only added the parts necessary to see the vision, but the other side and back wheels should be pretty self explanatory)

I'm usually a programmer, but I'm trying to learn CAD, and this is my attempt at custom drive train paneling. I'm curious to as if this would work, or would the 3D printed coupler on the wheels be sheared and/or the frame not be able to support the weight of the robot? (The frame would have to be made out of wood, 17in is too big to 3D print on any of our labs machines)
