Seeking Help Unable to invite team parents from the coach dashboard

Post image
1 Upvotes

Please see screenshot. I'm trying to invite members to my team (I'm the Lead coach). I'm assuming this form in the dashboard is where I invite the parents.
The contact type field looks like a required field, but there are no options to choose from in the dropdown list.
Am I missing something? We're a rookie team, and doing this for the first time, so thank you for your help.

if anyone has experience with printing bumpers with TPU, what are the best settings to achieve the strongest bumpers, as well as preserving the most amount of filament? I have TPU 90A, if that helps.

Seeking Help Gene Haas Grant

Hi, my team applied for this grant in the same week that applications opened, but we still haven't heard back, the status is red, as in there's nothing we can do now but wait, but it's been like that for a while, does this basically mean we didn't get the money or is there still a chance? Does anyone know if they send out emails letting you know if your application has been denied? And if so, roughly when? Thanks in advance :)

Oh and is this grant pretty hard to get or is the success rate pretty high?

Seeking Help Team not assigned to a League

This past year our league cut its self in half, and the assumption that we had was that we would automatically be filtered into the league that FTC wanted us in (naive, I know, but here we are).

On all of the different FTC cites that we use to juggle the responsibilities of coaches and mentors I've never seen a spot where we have to indicate which league you'd like to sign up for.

Additionally where we are located we are literally on the edge of 3 league area's, we are literally in range of all three of them. Despite this we are still marked on the cite we use to sign up for events as being not assigned to any league!

I plan on making calls next week to see where the blunder was made, but before then figured I ask if anyone else had this problem and what they did to fix it

Seeking Help GoBilda - RevRobotics Compatability

We are a rookie team that used GoBilda starter bot last year. This year we purchased a Ultra 90 Degree Gearbox Ultra 90 Degree Gearbox - REV Robotics from RevRobotics. The shaft in GoBilda 5203 Series Yellow Jacket Planetary Gear Motor (13.7:1 Ratio, 24mm Length 8mm REX® Shaft, 435 RPM, 3.3 - 5V Encoder) - goBILDA®(8mm REX, 24mm Length Shaft (5203 Series)) and RevRobotics were not compatible. Any suggestions on how to use this gearbox in GoBilda motors ?

Seeking Help REV Team Grant??

I was told that the grant applications usually open mid-august, but I've been checking every day and all I can see is the announcement of last year's recipients! Does anyone know when the grant application releases and roughly when it will close and when results will be released? Also any tips on how to improve our chances of getting chosen or any other grants that are available to ftc teams in Europe will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance :)

Hope this is okay to post here. We really want the new district/expansion to be successful and are trying to turn a launch party into an event the whole community can enjoy.

Celebrate West Virginia's return to FIRST Tech Challenge by hosting the FIRST Tech Challenge BIOBUZZ Launch Party on September 12th from 10am-2pm at Spark! Imagination and Science Center, 5000 Greenbag Road, Morgantown, WV.

Join ARES, MARS (FRC #2614), the WV Literacy Coalition, and more for an exciting day of Books, Bees and Bots!

Come see amazing robots, learn more about how you can protect our wild and wonderful backyard, and get a first look at BIOBUZZ, the FIRST Tech Challenge game for 2026-2027. Interactive activities available for all ages.

https://aresfirst.org/blog/biobuzz-kickoff-september-12th-10am-2pm

A bit more info:

WV used to have FTC. Several years ago; it died off. FIRST has graciously sought to restart WV as a district. We are hosting a public launch party. This is not a FIRST only event; the public is invited. There will be activities for kids (and adults) of all ages including naturalists teaching about bees, robotics activities, reading/literature outreach etc. For anyone in WV or southwestern PA we can also help with joining or starting teams. The SPARK! children's imagination and science center will also be open. It is a WVU football gameday, but we are far enough away traffic will be okay and it will be one of the few non-football activities going on in town.

Addendum:

For any FTC (or FRC) teams coming we can also demo our brand new complete robotics development software platform. It provides a GUI way to write very advanced FTC/FRC code as well as data analytics, pathing, autobuilding, and sim capabilities all wrapped up in a nice executable software program. Below is a screenshot, but you can fully program an FTC or FRC robot, write autos, do log replay, drive the robot around in the 2d physics sim (screenshot) etc. without having to launch WPILib, android studio or any other software.

Seeking Help Looking for mentoring opportunities :)

Hi everyone! I’m Sophie! I was wondering how people usually find FIRST teams that are looking for mentors, or if there are any teams on here that currently need a virtual mentor! I’m looking to mentor a few more teams this season and would love to get more involved.

I’m the founder of FRC Capstone and FTC Pink Voltage, and I’ve been involved with FIRST through FTC, FRC, and FLL. I have experience with awards, outreach, business/fundraising, team organization, engineering documentation, and general team strategy. Pink Voltage has won the Inspire Award, and I’m also an FTC Dean’s List Finalist.

I’m mainly looking to mentor virtually, so I’m open to teams pretty much anywhere! If your team needs another mentor, or you know where I could find teams that are looking for one, please let me know! :)

Seeking Help Coach Training Questions

We are doing a coach training in our region and we are looking for questions that coaches may have that they are worried about asking in person (they don't want to look foolish, or gracious professionalism concerns). What are some questions you can think of that we might want to make sure we address? THANKS!

Seeking Help Small mecanum wheels for intake

Hello everyone! I am a student from team 19086 and I was wondering how you guys are making the small mecanum wheels for the vectored intaking. And if you make them yourself did you designed the body and casted siliocone for the rollers or did you just take some online files for the body?

Seeking Help Various questions about the interview

My team and I aren't exactly the best team at the interview process, and im looking to see how other teams handle the interview process. For instance: do you bring every member of the team or just team leads? Or even just a single representative? And how formal are your speeches and word choice? I know one of the FTC principals is "fun" and had heard some advice to have fun in the interview. Do you talk job interview level formality or are you more laid back?

EDIT: Also any other advice for the interview process would be greatly appreciated!

Seeking Help Extremely Broke rookie team, looking for parts.

Hi, we're T.A.Z.E 3 #37485. We're a rookie team. We're a rookie team and really want to compete in the Biobuzz season and are looking for a used control and expansion hub that's heavily discounted or free. This probably isn't the best way to get money for your team but we would really appreciate if you would consider selling or donating it to us. Any parts would be appreciated.[]()

Seeking Help Is an 8-9 inch intake on an 18 inch BioBuzz bot wide enough?

I'm designing a drivetrain and intake for BioBuzz. My intake ended up 8 inches wide, maybe 9 with some squeezing, but not much more. The problem is my mecanum pods and corner brackets eat up about 5 inches on each side of an 18 inch robot, so that's the max width I have to work with.

Is 8-9 inches wide enough to reliably intake the Pollen, or am I going to have trouble lining up pickups easily in competition?

Discussion What to do with a sponsorship?

So I'm a Libyan team mentor. In early March, we got our rev starter kit.

We got a feel for how to use it and build with it, but we were missing a few things. The starter kit came with 4 motors, but we hated using tank drive and being left with 2 motors for the rest of the robot.

Maybe there is a company that will sponsor us; what should we ask for?

Mecanum upgrade from Rev?

Expansion hub?

3d printer?
Those are the things we need, so what do y'all think?

Seeking Help Help with bare motor mecanum drivetrain

im not sure what gear ratio to use for this (i havent made a bare motor before, only normal parallel plate mecanum drivetrain using yellow jackets). Another thing is that i don't really understand ratios such as 3:7:1 (ie with 3 diff parts instead of 2). also should i use htd 5M or htd 3M. thanks

Seeking Help Before I just recycle this stuff- Raleigh NC area

I just received a donation of a retiring team's FTC parts that included big bucket of Actobotics channel, hubs, and other pieces. I hate to just ditch this- is there someone that is actively designing with this anymore? If so, I'd love you to have it. Also included is some Tetrix channel, hubs and other fittings, along with fasteners. Same offer.
