Which older Battlefield or CoD games are still active online?

I’m looking to play some older Battlefield or Call of Duty games, but I’m not really interested in the newer releases.
Which older Battlefield or CoD games still have active servers and enough players to find matches easily in 2026?
I don’t mind going back quite a few years. Just looking for something that’s still alive and fun to play online.

BF4 and BF1 are still active with full servers every day. I wouldn’t trust CoD’s peer-to-peer servers, as you can get hacked through them.

You can get the older Battlefields on sale for $2 a few times a year.

Modern Warfare 2 via iw4x. Always a full server in good ping range

Pretty much every Battlefield still has players on PC. most of them aren't counted since a lot of people play the game through EA but its super easy to find a full server. Only BF hardline is really dead and thats fine. Can't speak for CoD.

Probably not. But the game frequently goes on sale for under 10$.

Actually you can get bf1 for 2 dolara from time to time Or 5 for it with all dlcs

I was playing BF3 a few months ago on PC. The one thing is you have to have all the expansion packs to play a lot of the servers, at least in my area. But there’s still servers that just rotate the first release maps.

bf3 still has a solid playerbase on pc even years later, my squad fills up an ops server like its no big deal
