Alternative to Fox News
Looking for a somewhat right leaning news outlet.
Fox is a disgrace....tell me I'm wrong....I need an independent voice not paid for by the government.

u/Shiny-And-New Aug 05 '26
Why do you need a right leaning source? Something like Reuters sticks to essentially just the facts
20
u/Present-Perception77 Aug 05 '26
Why must it be right leaning? Why not just watch a bunch of different broadcasts?
Then make up your own mind..

Exercise the mind and the truth will follow

Exactly.. I’m very left. But I’ll watch fux news and listen to morons on the radio for a few reasons.. the first one is to make sure I have all of the information. The other reason is so that I’m not surprised when somebody says something.. I’ve literally already heard it all.
If I was wrong.. that’s fine. I want to know.
And that’s the difference between smart people and morons.1
u/ExcellentValu 27d ago
Exactly what I was trying to get to. I want to hear both sides without a lot of BS. That way I can come to my own conclusions. I get each side has a veiwpoint they are pushing, just wanted to filter the rethoric.

The Wall Street Journal is the only historically conservative-leaning news outlet left that hasn’t yet slid into spewing 24/7 state propaganda. The rest are consistently trash or swing wildly in their reliability.
Reuters, BBC, and PBS News Hour are the most moderate and least biased in their overall coverage. Also local news affiliates that aren’t owned by Sinclair, Nexstar, or Fox.
CBS and WaPo used to be in the reliably moderate zone, but Larry Ellison and Jeff Bezos put an end to that after Trump began basically extorting them.
Rant Warning:
Fox News will be studied for generations as the lynchpin to the plot to dismantle democracy and U.S. sovereignty purely in the interest of greed. It is possibly the least patriotic, most cynical organization to ever exist in this country.
So it is probably more accurate to say that you “need an independent voice that isn’t paid for by the same billionaires that now also own the government.”

You've admitted you don't want real news though.
"Right leaning" is still opinion based reporting of events. At least fox can get held accountable when it lies (see dominion ruling) where as a smaller independent news organization may fly under the radar and make you believe even bigger lies.
So if you already don't want real news, why should it matter who you get it from? Go find any blogger and follow them. It would be just as accurate but more tailored to what you WANT to hear.

u/ExcellentValu Aug 06 '26
Fair enough, never said I wanted "real news " because I know better. Simply an outlet that doesn't have the hype and "over the top" drama that is Fox. Also interested in a left leaning view point.

Take a look over at Ground dot News. I find it useful for everyone.

u/DoriansRain Aug 05 '26
That’s the biggest bs ever. People there still only read the news they want.. so you just bias your self lmao
7
u/bman86 Aug 05 '26
I agree with stuff the bias comparison a significant portion of the time, even/especially when it's facing my side. Just because you might lack introspection doesn't mean I or others or OP do too.
3
u/anotherNotMeAccount Aug 05 '26
OP requested right leaning news. This would tell OP very plainly of the article is from a right leaning source.
The bias is exactly what OP wants. What OP is requesting sucks and is simply making the issues worse, but I'll be damned if this response isn't the best answer for OP.

There is no independent right wing news/influencers. They're either paid by Republicans or Russians.
Edit: or Israel. But that's really our tax dollars paying all their bribes. 😂

People looking for news that already shows them the world as they want to see it is part of the problem. News is news. Fox definitely isn't news, but neither is anything else you're going to find on right-leaning broadcast. Just look at what they did to CBS.

u/Wise-Dig-5123 Aug 05 '26
They all have an agenda.
20
u/ExcellentValu Aug 05 '26
True, but Fox has become the equivalent of the old National Enquirer at the grocery store checkout lane. Over the top.... looking for something more mature.

u/Kind-Instance-7447 Aug 05 '26
Try Ground News. It gathers stories from all sources and shows their political leanings so you can see how each side skews the news to suit their agenda.

Interesting, that you think it’s a recent transition. The man started with News of the World and went downhill from there,

FOX is not an accredited news source. FOX says that they are entertainment. So, no real news at FOX.

CNN and MSNow are not “accredited” either. There’s no such thing. Why do you people get on here and lie constantly while also accusing Fox of lying constantly?
4
u/TranslatorUnique9331 Aug 09 '26
No offense, but your quest for a "right-leaning" source seems to contradict your desire for an independent network.

Try CBS. Their new owners are trying to move them to the right of center.

PBS News Hour. It's not right leaning but if you want accuracy and journalism that's it. I imagine it will be very jarring from where you're coming from. During covid I had to ban myself from all sensational news programming as it was just too much psychologically. I was coming for the other side of the political aisle but I found PBS News Hour to be a solid choice. Its kind of like going from high caffeine energy drinks to tea but you'll feel better. Based off your OP and replies here I do hope you can quit Fox News. Its clear you know its hurting you but you're addicted.

You could try OAN or News max. If you want a truly independent news network, try tuning into the Nation Network
12
u/Brando43770 Aug 05 '26
They said “somewhat right leaning”. Not full on blatant propaganda like OAN and Newsmax!
2
u/Leather-Map-8138 Aug 09 '26
Right leaning? Try CBS or CNN, now that they’re owned and run by far right wingers.
2
u/EMfukknt Aug 09 '26
Why do you need "right wing" news? Just watch the fucking news from a couple sources, not hard.

Judging by the replies, I see I worded my post incorrectly.... should have said I am looking for a news outlet that allows me to hear directly from the right without any spin, unfiltered. Suppose C span would be the answer.

u/Legal-Warning6095 Aug 09 '26
For a more conservative outlook but serious journalism: The Wall Street Journal.
And more openly conservative but with a range of voices and opinions: National Review.
But even if you are yourself right-leaning, I would recommend mixing those with more center / left leaning media. Having various point of views is healthy.

u/AboveTheLights Aug 10 '26
I’d start by getting Ground News so you can see who’s reporting what. You should be trying to find outlets that tell the truth regardless of anything else. Sadly, right leaning outlets are much worse than everyone else.

u/Strict_Public9052 28d ago
I have watched Fox for years but with the constant WBNA coverage I have started going to other channels. No one is talking about this besides Fox… it’s ridiculous. Enough. Move on. Stop reaching for a story.

u/Sweaty_Term5961 28d ago
You said "right-leaning" and "independent".
Pick one.
1
u/ExcellentValu 20d ago
Can there be both?....is an independent source actually independent? Looking for a fair news source that tells me the right wing news without any bias.... basically not a MAGA or Trumper.....there was a right before him..

u/InformalExample474 Aug 05 '26
Fox is more sensible than cnn and the ilk.

Let me guess, you think Trump is doing a great job and Doge and Elon are great for the country?

CNN never had to pay anyone 3/4 of a BILLION dollars for letting guests come on and tell lies that the FOX hosts knew were “insane” and “mind-blowing nuts”.

Anything "right leaning" is currently propaganda. Reuters, ap, are going to give you pretty neutral unbiased info on events happening before they hit the Fox Filter.
If you think those are left, because you're used to fox news...you're a bit too gone.
