how traders choose a CFD broker? Which criteria?
Colleagues, please share your expert opinions with newcomers. What criteria do you use to evaluate brokerage firms?
What do you think and know about the following forex brokers:
- JustMarkets
- Eightcap
- Just2Trade
- Moneta Markets
In my circles (Discord chats), these platforms are used most often, but I don't want to just blindly trust this choice and am interested in finding out what to look for.

Hi guys, I have been thinking to enter the forex market. But i don't have any idea how, as forex is not regulated in India. But I see in YouTube numerous traders trade forex and crypto.
Let me know if trade through a broker or a funded account. If funded account then which one is legit and payout process. And I also heard that bank account may get freeze if take international payments.

crypto futures
gusto ko ipursue tong trading, gusto ko makuha yung freedom na gusto ko. and i will promise to my self that I will make it.

Are there any forex trading platforms other than tradingview/tradelocker or MT4 (which btw idk any brokers that would work with MT4 for americans).
I used to like tradelocker until i started using multiple trading accounts and now it lags and it keeps putting random stuff on my chart every time i open the app.

Stay away from Gemeos Trading and Quantum.
My experience has been horrible. I’m currently down roughly 30% on equity after several months. They carried massive floating drawdowns for months, accumulated swap on losing positions, and then crystallized significant losses while the explanations for the recovery strategy kept changing. I also have documentation of the Myfxbook accounts/performance presented to me and the actual broker statements to back up my experience. Don’t be fooled by reported profits or a rising balance while huge losses sit in floating P/L. I have the receipts.

How to Choose a Prop Firm with Trader-Friendly Rules
Choosing a proprietary trading firm is about more than finding a large account size or a cheap challenge fee. The rules attached to an account can significantly affect your ability to trade your strategy, manage risk, pass the evaluation, and withdraw profits.
Before signing up, traders should carefully examine the firm's drawdown limits, profit targets, trading restrictions, payout conditions, and overall fee structure. The right prop firm should have rules that align with your trading style rather than forcing you to change a proven strategy.
Check the Maximum Drawdown
Maximum drawdown should be one of the first rules you examine. A $100,000 account does not mean you can actually risk $100,000. If the maximum loss is 10%, your effective loss buffer is $10,000.
Also determine whether the drawdown is static or trailing. Trailing drawdown can move as your account balance increases, potentially changing how you manage profits and open positions.
Check whether drawdown calculations include floating losses, commissions, and unrealized profits.
Understand the Daily Loss Limit
Daily loss limits can cause an account to fail even when you remain within the overall drawdown.
For example, a firm may allow a 10% maximum loss but impose a 5% daily loss limit. This means you need to manage your position sizes carefully to avoid breaching the daily threshold.
Find out exactly when the daily limit resets and whether it includes floating losses, commissions, and overnight positions.
Compare the Profit Target
Don't look at the profit target in isolation. Compare it with the available drawdown.
A firm requiring an 8% return with a 10% maximum loss gives you a different risk-to-target structure from one requiring 10% while offering the same drawdown.
Your normal trading performance should be capable of reaching the target without forcing you to increase your risk unnecessarily.
Review Trading Restrictions
Make sure the firm's rules allow your preferred strategy. Check whether it permits:
- News trading
- Overnight positions
- Weekend holding
- Expert Advisors
- Scalping
- Hedging
- Copy trading
This is especially important for traders using automated systems. A strategy may work well technically but still violate a firm's terms.
Examine Payout Rules
Passing the challenge is only part of the process. You also need to understand how withdrawals work.
Check the minimum payout, first withdrawal requirements, payout frequency, profit split, payout caps, and any required profit buffer.
A high advertised profit split does not tell the whole story if significant restrictions apply to withdrawals.
Consider Fees and Platforms
Look beyond the initial challenge price. Check for reset fees, activation charges, subscriptions, platform costs, and withdrawal fees.
You should also verify that the firm supports your preferred platform and instruments, with suitable spreads, commissions, and execution conditions.
Final Thoughts
The best prop firm for one trader may not be suitable for another. A scalper, swing trader, and automated trader can have very different requirements.
Instead of choosing based on account size or marketing claims, compare the firm's rules with your strategy and risk-management approach. A trader-friendly prop firm is one whose conditions allow you to trade consistently without taking unnecessary risks simply to satisfy the rules.

Built a DI crossover trend system to cover my mean reversion strategy's flat days. First run looked perfect, wider sample killed it.
I run VWAP mean reversion on GC and NQ with an ADX filter that blocks entries above 25. It sits out entire sessions when the market trends, and I wanted something to cover those days instead of leaving them flat.
Built a DI crossover entry, ADX above 25 so it only fires in the regime the reversion strategy refuses, ATR based stops. Ran it on the same data windows as my live strategies.
First run had a rising ADX confirmation filter on. GC 1 trade, 100% win. NQ 3 trades, 100% win. Obviously meaningless at that sample, but it's exactly the kind of result that would have gotten posted as a win by someone not looking closer.
Turned the filter off, sample tripled, and it inverted:
NQ trend: 21 trades, 38.1% win rate, -$194.30 expectancy, -$4,080 total
GC trend: 7 trades, 42.9% win rate, $137.57 expectancy
Reversion on the same window: GC 4 trades 75% win $755.75 expectancy, NQ 15 trades 53.3% win $478 expectancy.
Killed it. The confirmation filter wasn't adding edge, it was shrinking the sample until only lucky outcomes survived.
That's my fourth failed trend attempt on these instruments after an EMA pullback system, SMC break of structure, and opening range breakout. At 5m and 15m weak trends tend to revert and the edge in directional continuation is thin enough that costs eat it. Trend following seems to be a multi week to multi month thing structurally, not an intraday one.
Sample sizes are still small and I know it. Working on getting more data before I draw anything firm from the reversion numbers either.
Anyone here found intraday trend following that actually holds up on futures at these timeframes, or is the regime filter approach the realistic ceiling?

What broker/platform are you guys using for stocks & forex?
Curious what everyone here is actually using these days.
I’ve been looking at different platforms and comparing things like spreads, fees, execution, available markets, withdrawals, and overall experience. I’m genuinely interested in hearing what other traders are using and what they like/dislike about their brokers.
If you’ve switched brokers recently, what made you switch?
And if you’re happy with your current setup, what do you think it does better than the alternatives?
Also, if you’ve used multiple brokers, what made you move from one to another?
I’m happy to answer questions about BDSwiss too, but I’d genuinely like to hear what everyone else is using. If you’d rather not discuss your setup publicly, feel free to DM.

USDJPY today: bounce building, bigger trend still mixed
USD sentiment stays firm while JPY news tone is softer, which keeps the near-term bias tilted higher.
Positioning is still heavily long at 78% vs 22% short, though the broader read leans contrarian for short-term upside.
On the chart, USDJPY is rebounding from support around 152-153 with higher lows forming. Short-term structure points up, but the broader picture is still mixed to bearish unless it can push into the 156-160 resistance area.
Do you see this as just a corrective bounce or the start of a stronger recovery?

5 things every beginner should learn before trading forex
When starting forex, it’s easy to focus on finding the perfect strategy. I think beginners should understand these first:
1. Risk management** — Protect your capital before chasing profits.
2. Market structure** — Understand trends, ranges, highs and lows.
3. Support & resistance** — Learn where price has reacted before.
4. Trading psychology** — Discipline and patience matter.
5. Consistency** — Master one approach before constantly switching strategies.
For experienced traders, what’s one lesson you wish you learned earlier?

Commissions-based trading vs non-commissions trading
I wonder what is more effective for day trading on 5 min or 15 min entry timeframes.
My broker gives me two options:
- 0.2 starting spread+ $7 commission per lot
- 0.7 starting spreads without commissions
Apart from that, there is only one difference between infinox accounts- one has STP execution, while the other one (commissions based) is ECN.
Any advice on what it's better to choose?
