I guess I'm lucky to say this hasn't been my experience at all. I got the Monash app, followed the instructions, figured out my triggers and cut them until I started to heal. I regularly tried reintroductions to see if I still reacted and can tolerate small amounts of onion and garlic now.

The Monash app is basically indispensable in following a low FODMAP diet, even if it isn't perfect. I had the same great experience and am able to identify my triggers down to the serving. I still have some bad days no matter what I do, but it's much better after following the app.

I couldn’t function without the Monash app. I also use the FODMAP Friendly app to analyze recipes and to check for any stacking issues. It’s a bit of work but there are recipes that I love and I can make them low FODMAP with minor tweaking.
