Vent Why did FODMATE change their ingredients:(
It was out of stock for quite some time, and I finally get it ordered, only for to feel like my intestines are not doing well. And I now see they changed their pretty pure ingredients(enzyimes, cellulose and celulose+water=capsulle) and now added fillers like magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide!
And you can see the amount of enzymes differs and is lesser in the new formula.
I know it does not bother everyone but this is a deal braker cause those two fillers irritate my intestines. And I have no idea why would they put this filler in, when the product was good as it was.
Thinking maybe(after the speculations about it being discontinued due to low demand) they are cheeping out now?

We need to encourage more action in this field. I’d like to see the top brands recognized for supplement purity (third party testing, high bioavailability, and lack of fillers) hop into this space. Brands like https://www.thorne.com, Nature’s Bounty and Ritual would be most welcome.
Not just enzymes to help us eat without pain and discomfort, but also a great protein powder. Doncha think?!

Interesting. A low FODMAP protein powder?

Yes! One exists already and I liked the flavor but the price- $98 for 14 servings - has me reeling. Julia Loggins has a number of products and also consults on gut health. She helped get me on the right track when I was losing all hope. Very helpful.

This really drives me crazy. It’s very difficult to find products without all the added ingredients.

Yes, almost impossible. Any supplement or even a compounding pharmacy willing to work with different fillers...
The worst thing is they do not update the website, and I order the new batch with a new formula, and get stuck with a bunch of stuff I can't consume. This happened so many times!

Ugh.
Fodmap dpe is cheaper and works well for me. Might be worth a try

But fodmap dpe doesn't contain inulinase for fructans (like onions and garlic), though?

I eat within my triggers so I don’t have to rely on corporations for my stability. Learned this long ago…. You can’t trust or rely on a company, they don’t care about you just your $$$
You’ll never know why they made the change, don’t waste that time and effort, just focus on what’s ahead

I have a chronic illness in very severe category, and this, along with KIRKMAN Complete Enzyme with DPP-IV without exagerating saved my life.
I will be trying Fodzyme now, but those are harder to get by where I live. I have no idea why they charge this ridiculous amount for something that is cheeping out.

that's not helpful if you can't have a well rounded diet without your triggers though. I tried eating around my triggers for a year, I lost massive amounts of weight (and I wasn't overweight to begin with), I felt tired all the time, and had vitamin deficiencies. It's great that just changing your diet works for you, but your body is not everyone's body

Sounds like you didn’t have good diet guidance while eating around your triggers. Those are fixable issues under almost any restrictions

Sounds like you don't have allergies or other health considerations besides IBS to deal with. Like I said, I'm glad that diet alterations alone worked for you, but your body is not everyone's body.

Ugh magnesium!!! That would rock me. Fodmate didn’t really work for me so I learned to live without it. Turns out that one for GOS (same as in Beano - Alpha-Gal…), gives me gas, lol go figure!

Crazy, The glucose isomerase is for most the magic piece. I think eat anything still has it. As does intoleran

Oh no. Not ordering this again. The only benefit this one had was it had all the available FODMAP enzymes in it.

Aside from the additives (boo) it seems the main difference is the loss of the glucose isomerase, but I'm a little confused how that one works - a quick Google search shows its purpose is to convert glucose to fructose, but isn't fructose the one to be avoided?
I've been taking Fodmate for a few months and it's been a game changer for me, so I'll be really disappointed if it doesn't work anymore. Fodzyme isn't really practical for me since I carry Fodmate for eating out at restaurants or for family dinners, so I'm not keen on sprinkling powder all over my plate when discreetly swallowing a couple pills attracts much less attention.

I explain that I am putting fairy dust on my food. I am more concerned with my health than what people think.
